Yes, we do use the woocommerce-stripe-gateway plugin.
Unfortunately, you have very little info about multi-currency feature.
1. Can you tell me how it works or direct me to a page with detailed description?
2. Is the multi-currency feature included in the $99 CMS package?
3. Is it possible to get the currency conversion rates updated from Stripe? E.g. via API
We currently offer exchange rates through Fixer.io, currencylayer, Exchange Rates API, and Open Exchange Rates.
Turned out we didn’t know that Stripe offered exchange rates. We can consider this a feature request but we need to have more users needing that. You seem to be the first one.
Hello,
I’ve checked your records and I can see you bought the Multilingual CMS package back in 2012 (December 17, 2012) which expired a year later meaning that you never renewed it. So it wasn’t the lifetime package. You cannot access these old downloads but even if you could, it wouldn’t work with current WordPress. You need to buy WPML again. If you want to use the same email (account) as previously, please log into your WPML account before proceeding with the checkout. If you don’t remember your password, please use this link: https://wpml.org/account/lost-my-password/
I would like to know if any of your plans allow us to add Hreflang Tags and which translation service you use for the automatic translations (google translate or Deepl)?
The CMS package (or the Agency package). To change the translation engine fromGoogle to DeepL please don’t select “Translate automatically” during the setup wizard but choose “Translate some” and then go to WPML > Translation Management > Automatic Translation tab > Settings and then change the order of the translation engine to elect DeepL first. Please note that DeepL is a bit more expensive than Google Translate. See the pricing here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
You will get 90 000 credits for free if you buy the CMS package.
Hi. I actually didn’t check yet if Stripe provides exchange rates in their API – I assumed they had their own exchange rates as they process payments in different currencies. If they don’t, I’d need to find out what is their source and connect to that.
Question for your multi-currency addon: does it automatically update the exchange rates from selected source or do we need to trigger the update manually in wp-admin?
Thank you for clarifying this for me Agnes. Could you also provide some feedback on the following:
– Can I add my own translations (without having to use both your translation services or the automatic translation)?
– Can I improve the automatic translation by making changes to it by myself?
– Do you have a Lifetime license available for the CMS packages?
By “source”, I mean a database with exchange rates that payment gateway providers use convert currencies upon transactions.
I would assume they use their own exchange rates to include conversion fees.
Some gateways provide RSS with their rates, some don’t, hence the “selected source”.
Thank you. Please check the screenshot here: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/multi-currency-support-woocommerce/#automatic-exchange-rates
This is how you can enable automatic exchange rates.
When you buy WPML, you can test it for 30 days and use our technical support forum in case of issues. This probation period allows you to test WPML without any risk (best would be to do so on a copy of your site, not on the production site). In case it doesn’t work as you expect, you fill out the refund form and we will refund your order.
We are building a site in 2 languages. There may be pages in language A that are not in language B, and there may be pages built first in language B and only then built in language A.
Is this possible with WPML?
In other words, is it possible to create a new page in a “secondary” language first, then later on perhaps add a translation to the “default” language?
I am currently hosting a blog with polylang on 2 languages. I would like to include several more languages. I am looking for an alternative to polylang, but I am concerned about keeping the option to post some articles only in some languages, and not in others. Is that something that I can do with WPML?
Thank you very much for your assistance in advance.
Hello,
When you are in your WordPress admin, please use the language switcher you can see at the top bar (next to + New) and switch to that language first. Then click Add new.
Thank you very much for your quick response! As we have in-house translators, we can leave translation to them without having to purchase any translation services, is that correct?
Hello, yes, you don’t need to purchase any translation services but we also provide automatic translation – a feature that allows you to use automatical translation from Google Translate or DeepL. This feature can be found useful even by your in-house translators because it can speed up the translation process significantly and you can always make edits to automatic translations where relevant. Anyway, please buy the CMS package and when setting up WPML choose “Translate some” instead of “Translate automatically” to have full control over what you translate.
Account renewals cost 75% of the original price. You can see this information in the Frequently Asked Questions section: https://wpml.org/purchase/ under How do account renewals work?
2) How can this plugin respect the SEO when you have to create another website in order to make it popular using one single language? I mean, if I want to boost it in spanish, I guess I’ll have to create a website in spanish and use a spanish description (as part of the SEO). Then, if I want to do the same in italian, I think I’ll have to create another one using this language.
Hello,
1. No, we don’t have lifetime deals. But renewals are optional – you can cancel your subscription at any time and after the first year still use the plugin but without updates.
2. WPML is compatible with the most popular SEO plugin. It means that you can add descriptions for translated posts/pages as well. The details will depend on the SEO plugin you use. We provide documentation. https://wpml.org/plugin-functionality/seo/
3. Yes, we have some but not many. https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/
We are looking at setting up a website that will have different languages of the original page, however it will also have different locations/localisations. So for example we will create page A in english for the UK market, but we also want to create Page A for the USA market in the state of Arizona for example, along with page A for the Canadian English Market and page A for the Australian English Market. Does WPML support this? and if so, is there a video or some tutorial of how to set this up please?
I am completely clueless when it comes to this department. I am reaching out on behalf of my boss who is revamping the website with WebFx. They will also be assisting us with blog content for the website.
Below are some of his questions:
What is the difference between CMS & multi-agency?
Do we get charged depending on how many languages we add?
My boss would also like to know which option would be more beneficial to us if we are translating from English to Spanish & Russian.
Hello Ariana,
What is the difference between CMS & multi-agency?
The number of sites you can register:
Cms> 3
Agency> Unlimited
Do we get charged depending on how many languages we add?
No
My boss would also like to know which option would be more beneficial to us if we are translating from English to Spanish & Russian.
If you are gping to use WPML on one site, tbe CMS version is enough.
You can translate the content automatically, or through one of our professional translation services https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/translation-tools-available-with-wpml/
Does the translated content get indexed on Google and other search engines? I mean like having a snippets in different languages on Google for the same content! maybe in English, German, French etc.
Hello,
yes, the translated content gets indexed on Google and other search engines. I’m not sure what you mean by snippets but if you want to translate your site’s meta description first you need to use an SEO plugin to set it up and then translate it with WPML. Here are the SEO plugins compatible with WPML: https://wpml.org/plugin-functionality/seo/
I am using Elementor and have my site set up so on every page, each section has 2 versions, one in English and one in Japanese. I need a plugin that will allow me to restrict the English sections onlly for those who choose English and Show the Japanese sections only for those who select Japanese as their language… Can I achieve this easily with WPML? I currently am testing out another language plugin which seems to allow this but then each time a japanese user changes the page to a different page on my site, the language reverts back to English and they have to use the language toggle again to reselect Japanese…
I dont need the plugin to do translations for me, I do them myself. I only need it to restrict certain sections in elementor to certain languages and then keep the user at that language as they navigate my site…
Will this be possible with WPML easily without using code? If so how much will it cost me?
Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML. The way you provide the translations of your pages is not the recommended way. If you check Google’s guidelines for the multilingual site, you will learn that you need to have separate pages (with separate ULRs) for transactions. In other words, you cannot mix the content of two languages on the same page. WPML works well with Elementor and yes, it allows you to translate only chosen pages to Japanese (yes, you can provide your own translations) but you translate whole pages, not sections of the same page.
Hello,
I’m not sure I understand your request. Why do you need to find your WPML PayPay email ID? If you have enough funds on your PayPal, your WPML suspicion will be renewed automatically on March 1, 2022. Do you want to use a different email than you used previously?
Hello,
we don’t support posting through WP Rest API in different languages. When translating posts, WPML creates some extra entries in the database to keep track of which post is a translation of which one so this is more than just adding new content.
Thank you for your reply on indexing! One last question. If I had already been using a different Multilingual plugin on my site and want to switch to WPML, will the already translated content indexed on google redirect to the appropriate pages or return a 404 redirect?

I forgot how I paid last year. When I log in to the dashboard and go to the billing section, I see payment method is: Credit card / PayPal account. I don’t want to use my credit card. I have sufficient fund in my Paypal account. I wanted to ask WPML support that if I can manually pay by using your company’s paypal ID or how does this work?
I can see that your previous order was done via PayPal. If you have sufficient funds on my Paypal account there shouldn’t be any issues with your renewal on March 1, 2022. I’m not sure if anyone can pay manually by using your company’s PayPal ID. Let me consult your case with some other people from our company.
Your subscription is set up to have the payment processed through credit/card PayPal. This means that your will pay through PayPal but the funds will be debited from their credit card and not their PayPal balance. You should log in to your PayPal Account > Subscriptions> find WPML and see if they can change the source for this payment and select PayPal balance (instead of credit card)

Hello,
We would like to do the content translation on our new website for 2 languages, English and russian. How much would it cost?
Hello Ariana,
It depends on what translation method you will use.
WPML subscription pricing is listed here https://wpml.org/purchase/
You can then select automatic, professional or manual translation. with different costs each
Automatic https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
Professional https://wpml.org/translation-service/
Manual has no extra charge as you would be adding the translation manually
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Kind regards,
Thank you for your answer.

Hello,
The multi-currency feature is meant for WooCommerce sites that sell products in different languages.
Here’s the documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/
and details about Multi-Currency Support for WooCommerce:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/multi-currency-support-woocommerce/
Yes, the multi-currency feature is included in the $99 CMS package. You will need to install the “WooCommerce Multilingual” plugin as well which is also included in this package.

Hello,
you would need to add custom languages with appropriate codes: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/editing-wpmls-languages-table/#adding-your-own-languages-using-wpmls-gui
If you get stuck adding these you can ask our technical supporters for help.
