  1. What is the difference between production and development websites?
I was looking at pricing and I got confused with these two terms.
also if I bought the unlimited version does that means that I can use the plugin on all my WP websites?
    Thanks

    • If you buy the Agency package you can register WPML on as many sites as you want. If you buy the CMS package you can register only 3 production sites but we allow you to install WPML on 9 development sites too. The development sites will have a banner you cannot dismiss appearing on your WordPress admin saying that it is a development site. This prevents users who buy the CMS package that is supposed to be used on only 3 sites to use WPML on more sites but still allows them to test WPML on their staging environment.

  2. Hello, I am working with a non-profit client, Loom International and looking to purchase the CMS version of WPML to translate their website. Do you have a discount for non-profits? How do I go about discussing this?
    Thank you!

  3. I develop a free, open-source, non-monetized plugin to optimize WordPress database operations, here. https://wordpress.org/plugins/index-wp-mysql-for-speed/

Some of my users have asked me for help with WPML. Is there a way I can get access to a large WPML / WordPress test installation, or even to a non-production copy of your plugin, so I can help those users we both serve?

I don’t want to develop a multilingual WordPress site. I just hope to evaluate whether it’s possible to apply similar database optimizations to your tables as I have applied to core WordPress / WooCommerce tables, and what those optimizations might be.

The help for my plugin is here. https://www.plumislandmedia.net/index-wp-mysql-for-speed/high_performance_keys/

Thank you for your consideration, and also for making the world a bit smaller with your plugin.

  4. Hi
I am thinking of buying the WPML but I wanted to ask first one think. Is the WPML also translate the automation emails from Mailerlite? And other question is it compatible with Kadence theme?
    Many thanks

  5. Could you please explain about automatic translation credits?
As I have purchased and how much to give in the number of automatic translation credits without additional payment?

    • Hello,
Thank you for purchasing WPML. You have 90 000 translation credits. You can assign some of them (or all) to your site(s) when registering the site on your WPML account. If you want to try it out first and not run out of credits fast, please assign just some (let’s say 1000), check how the plugins works and you will be able to assign more credits later. If you use all 90 000 credits, you can buy more credits in two ways: 1) pre-paid credits 2) register Pay-as-you-go. More about these two options: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/

  6. We are working in development website. I want to use new automatic translation credits , If I am shifting the backup to production website the credits ? Kindly let me know ASAP

    • Hello, I’m sorry but you cannot. You can pay by credit card or by PayPal. To pay by card, on the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.

  7. Hi I am currently using Polylang and I am thinking moving to WPML. My website is built with Oxygen Builder and I tought your Blog Plan was enough for me, however I saw that this plan doesnt include Website Builder support.

What does exactly mean website builder support? If I get the blog plan it will not work properly with Oxygen Builder?

I look forward to hearing from you

  8. I’m researching translation plugins for my client’s site. I have used WPML for an English-Spanish site before however this new site will have 9 to 11 different languages. Is there a limit to how many translations I can have on one site? Also, several of them will be right-to-left reading languages. Does that pose any special challenges? How can I figure out how much it would cost to use automatic translation for 9-11 languages?

  9. Hi, I would like to use only strictly necessary cookies to avoid a cookie banner. The translated pages would be indexed by Google and reachable only by their URL (maybe without using a language selector or memorization of this preference). Can this be done, or are preference cookies always stored by WPML, making a cookie banner mandatory?
    Thanks

  10. Hello Andrés. Yes, I had seen that page but it is still not clear to me if it is possible to disable all preference cookies (excluding the admin area one). Without this confirmation I cannot proceed with the purchase.
    Thanks

    • I’m afraid there is not a straight way to disable those cookies. However, you can deactivate those functionalities.

  11. Hallo,

  12. Hi WPML.

Is WPML officially compatible with PHP 8.0 now that WordPress 6.0 is out?

    Best regards
    Karl Emil Nikka

  13. Thanks for the quick reply. I ran into some issues earlier this month and was told PHP 8 wasn’t officially supported. See also https://wpml.org/forums/topic/php-8-0/.

If I understand you correctly, I can now repurchase WPML and there shouldn’t be any PHP 8 related WPML issues or console errors on a clean WordPress install with only WPML running?

    • Thanks for the link to your forum thread. Yes, it was a while back and it was about WP 5.9. If your WordPress site runs smoothly using PHP 8, installing WPML shouldn’t cause any damage.

  14. I am looking to purchase WPML for our website, but I need to speak with someone regarding your security, as well as an enterprise-level option for our organization. Do you have a sales representative I can connect with?

  15. I have forgotten to update the payment information and my multilingual agency account has been cancelled. I would like to avoid creating a new account. I have been a client since 2013 and I have always paid the fee every year. Can you please help?

  16. Tell me please.
Now I have 2 sites that need to be translated.
I can now buy a second package, but what about the need to pay extra for the third package?

    • Hello,
if you need to register two separate production sites, you need to buy the CMS package. It allows you to register 1, 2 or 3 production sites. We don’t have a package that allows you to register exactly 2 sites.

  17. Hey, am I able to individually edit the automatically created language pages content inside elementor? For example, if we are translating a product round-up review post and want to have different products/content for each geo page would we be able to essentially have an entirely different page for each language which we can manually amend after it’s been automaticalled edited? This will also apply to manually changing the URL and meta title & description.

    • Hello,
do you mean that you want to have completely different content for your page (let’s call it A) for each language? If so, it is possible but there are some limitations you should be aware of. Let me explain. You would need to switch off the WPML’s Translation Editor for that page (page A) as soon as your page is automatically translated. To do so you need to open your page (page A) in your original language and on the right-hand sidebar (Page not Block tab) scroll down to the Language > Translations section and disable “WPML’s Translation Editor”. Please note that as soon as you do so, you won’t be able to translate this page automatically. BTW, you can manually change your page URL without the need of turning off the translation editor. You can also translate your meta title and description using WPML because we are compatible with the popular SEO plugins.

  18. Hello, I would like to know if one day we have to cancel the plan, if I lose all the translation information.

I would also like to know if there is support for SEO and Rankmath.
Does it user hreflang in my actual sitemap.

    Thank you very much.

    • Hello, you don’t lose your translations if you cancel your WPML subscription. Translations are saved in your WordPress database. WPML plugin will continue working fine but you won’t get new updates if you cancel your WPML subscription. Yes, we are compatible with the Rankmath plugin. About the sitemap we have this note:

If you choose other language URL formats, the multilingual sitemaps generated by Rank Math don’t follow the standard structure of multilingual sitemaps. WPML takes care of this by creating hreflang tags so that search engines know the default language of the page’s content and the translation available in different languages.

  19. Hello
I have a 4-language website. Is my site optimized if I use your plugin?
Because I used a 2-language website and the size of the database doubled!

    • The size of your content will double if you use WPML. Because WPML saves your translations in your WordPress database and for each page/post you translate a new page/post is created.

    • Hello, Your WPML subscription expired on December 21, 2021 and that’s why you cannot see the discount. Only clients who use WPML continuously will get the discount. In other words, your break was too long to get the discount. You can still use your old account but you need to pay the full price again. I hope it helps.

  20. greetings, is there any other way to pay instead of paypal? i face some trouble making payment with paypal

    regards
    Nasr

    • Yes, you can use your credit card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.

  21. Hello, I purchased WPML for my 3 sites and I want to reinstall it again for one of my site but I can’t download wpml because it says I need to pay for a new account, but why? so I paid for 1 year and after 1 year i cannot use what i paid anymore? 😮

    • Hello Alex,
I can see that your WPML subscription expired on November 9, 2021. You need to renew it if you want to use WPML on a new site or on a fresh WordPress install. Your old sites can still use WPML but for new sites you will need to register WPML and to register WPML you need to have an active WPML account.
