    • Hola, sí, puede usar la función “Glosario” y de esta manera decirle a WPML que Simon Bull debería traducirse a Simon Bull. También puede traducir algunas páginas manualmente si lo desea o puede editar la traducción automática para corregir los errores.

  1. Thanks for the response.
Can I check that I will need to purchase the “Multilingual CMS” plugin in my case?

I would assume that the “Multilingual Blog” won’t work since I need the string translation function.

    • Yes, you will need the WPML String Translation plugin, which is included in the Multilingual CMS package (and is not in the Blog package).

    • Hello,
we don’t have a free trial but you can buy WPML keeping our refund policy in mind that allows you to use WPML for 30 days without risking your money. Also, feel free to ask me any questions you might have before buying.

  2. Hi.
We have a license for our website, but are now developing a new and will transfer this after we finish – we have included 3 development sites in our subscription but cant establish any of them. I’ve read the https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#register-development-sites and troubleshooting, but still no solution to how (there is no “gear” icon to register dev. site).

So how do we register a dev.site?

    All the best,
    Jan W.

    • Hello, when you go to https://wpml.org/account/sites/ and click to register a new site, first it will ask you for the site’s URL, next it will ask you to select: Production site/Development site. If you cannot see this and you are our client, please open a ticket on our support forum to get further help. You can always unregister your site and register again.

  3. No, there is no possibility or option to “register new site”.
I will try to open a support ticket to solve this challenge.

  4. Hey there,

Do you guys have a one-time for life purchase? I remember years ago I built a website for a company and I got that life time license for around 500 bucks, that was way before pandanmic.

Also, if I buy the license for 1 year. will the translation still be working properly the 2nd year if I don`t renew the license?

Been with you guys before, it was a great experience. Would like to find that life long license again.

    Thanks,

    • Hello Leo,
It’s good to see you back. I am afraid we stopped selling lifetime subscriptions a long time ago.
You are welcome to purchase one of our yearly ones. If you don’t renew, you will lose updates and support but will be able to keep using WPML as it is installed on your site.

      Kind regards

  5. Hi!

We’re about to develop website for eucap.eu and we want to try your automatic translations solution and then develop page with that.
Is there any “trial” option or “development” account?

    Regards,
    Paweł

    • Hello Paweł,
we don’t provide any free demo sites where you could test WPML before buying but if you are interested in trying out the quality of automatic translation please note that in WPML you can select one of these free engines: DeepL, Google Translate or Microsoft. It means that you can test the quality of the translation for free on teir sites:
      https://translate.google.com/
      https://www.deepl.com/translator
      https://www.bing.com/translator
WPML integrates with the APIs of these translation services but in addition allows you to properly handle links, bolding, images and stuff like that.
You can also buy WPML keeping our refund policy in mind. It allows you to test WPML for 30 days without risking your money.

  6. Hi
I hope you are doing well 🙂
I want to know if there will be any problems if I install your plugin in a website that I own.
My website is a multisite with 3 different languages, I already have about 60 articles already translated manually without the help of any plugin, only and multilanguage switcher was needed.
So is there a guide on how to install the plugin on my website, will be any problems if installed, and how to manage this situation?
Thank you very much for your help 🙂
    Have a great day

    • Hello there,
Installing WPML shouldn’t bring any problems to your site. However, it does not necessary means that you will be able to convert your site into multilingual directly.
As you are working with a multisite, you can set every site in a different domain as explained here. Then, you can manually associate all your translations to an original content as explained here.
      I hope it helps.

  7. Hi,

    Re: https://www.origamispirit.com/es/

Our site is translated into Spanish using GTranslate and we’re having issues with search not working in the translated language.

For example, when searching for a Spanish term ‘Conejo’ the result is null. But, if the English term ‘Rabbit’ is searched for, there are results, in Spanish.

I’ve tried a number of other search plugins and each has the same issue: WP search, Ivory Search, Google Search WP.

I’m concerned that there will be the same SEARCH issue using WPML.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks,

    John

    • Hello John,
When you are using a default WordPress search, WPML would work directly and you will be able to find your results in different languages.
However, if you are using a search plugin, I recommend you to give a look to this tutorial or check if your plugin isWPML compatible.
      I hope it helps.

  8. Hi Andrés,

We have about 170K words on the site and will add about 3000 words per month.

We will use auto-translation and I think I’ve read that WPML uses Deepl as the translator. Is that correct?

How long will it take for the site to be translated initially?

Can you give me a rough idea of cost, both to get the site translated initially, and then ongoing based on the numbers above?

    Thanks!

    John

    • Hey John,
Yes, WPML uses Deepl by default, however you can also select Azure and Google. I can’t provide you a time estimation as it would depend on how your site has been created but let’s say a few hours for a vanilla WordPress site. Finally, you can have a cost idea from the this calculator.
      Regards

  9. Hello,
We need WPML for multilingual web shop (WooCommerce). Is WooCommerce Multilingual included in WPML cost or is there an additional cost for it? What WPML plugins do we need to translate pages and posts, and shop?
    Thanks.

    • Hello,
to make your WooCommerce store multilingual you need the following plugins:
      – WPML (core plugin)
      – WooCommerce Multilingual
      – WPML String Translation
All these three plugins are available in the Multilingual CMS package.

  10. Hello WPML Team,
My name is Yevhen, I’m representing the volunteer organization Radio Free Ukraine.
We strive to tell the whole world the truth about the atrocities and terrible things done by the russian military against civilians in Ukraine, we would like to convey this information to as many people as possible in different countries and for this we want to translate the materials of our website https://radiofreeukraine.com in many languages, but since we have a volunteer non-profite organization, our budget is limited and we are wondering if you have discounts for the purchase of WPML(Multilingual CMS) for volunteer non-profit organizations?

  11. Hi team,

We are working with a client to translate their website authored in WordPress and were hoping you can help us with some issues we had or help point us to the right person.

The exporting/importing process between WPML and memoQ using XLIFF files did not go very smoothly. After translating in memoQ and import the xliff back to WPML we are not able to see the translation in the workbench but only in the “View”. Can you please let us know if there is a way to solve that?

It looks like there is an automatic integration available between memoQ and WordPress but we are not sure if it can help us solve the problem.

    Thank you in advance!

  12. I want to have smth like this – when a user is not from Poland they will automatically see english version of a site without the need to change language manually. Is it possible with WPML?

    • Hello Joanna,
yes, this is possible to automatically redirect a user to another language based on the user’s setting in their browser. This option is not checked by default so you would need to enable it in WPML settings (WPML > Languages > Browser language redirect). Please note that this option is rarely used in practice because in most cases your site will get organic traffic from Google (and other search engines) directly to translated pages. That’s the purpose of creating a multilingual site: to attract organic traffic in the native language of the user who is using Google.

    • Hello,
yes, our WooCommerce Multilingual plugin allows you to sync product inventory across different translations for the same product.

  13. My client has been purchased WPML plugin for multi languages.

I am also using ACF plugin to manage custom data in custom post types like products and projects.

My questions is custom fields which I created that not displaying in other languages.

Please check and solve my issue.

    • Hello, please use our support forum to ask for technical help:
      https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
You need to log into your WPML account to open a ticket. Please ask your client for the password if you don’t have access.
WPML can translate all sorts of ACF fields (even Repeater and Flebixble content) but sometimes our clients are confused about how to set the fields up correctly to be translatable. There is no one answer to this because it depends on several factors: which editor do you use (WPML’s translation editor or WP native editor), if you need the same structure for translated posts or a different one, etc. That’s why you need to open a ticket on our forum.

  14. Hello,
I have 2 questions: 1- Is this one time payment or subscription?
2- I will use it only for Turkish menu translation. When English home page is clicked the English menu and When the Turkish flag is clicekd the Turkish menu… All my pages are already prepared in Turkish so just the menu! Can I do this just translate the menu.
3- I am using Salient theme and right now trying Polylang and static page for turkish doesn’t work so a strange empty page is opened so that’s. why I am considering your plugin. By the way I downloaded once but it told me to download Woocommerce which I don’t use so is this an obligation I have to download both plugins to make it work which I didn’t like..
Anyways thank you for your help,
    Banu

    • Hello,
      1. It’s a yearly subscription, which you can cancel at any time and still use WPML. For each next year you will pay 75% of your initial price.
      2. Yes, WPML can synchronize your menus or you can keep different items in your menu for your languages. Both scenarios are possible.
      3. No, you don’t need WooCommerce. The WooCummerce Multilingual plugin is optinal and you don’t need to use it.

  15. A question about forms. If a user in one of our sublanguages fills out a contact form on our website, does WPML allow us to tag or parse those results differently? In other words, we want our Dutch inquiries to be handled differently that our Spanish inquiries. Does WPML give us that kind of granular control?

    Thank you,
    Brendan

    • Hello,
I don’t know which form plugin you use and whether it’s compatible with WPML. Getting a diffrent logic for a form in another language can be tricky. Youu might try to do the following:
      1. Create two different forms: one for your original (primary) language, one for the translated page.
      2. Disable WPML’s translation editor for the page that uses your original form.
      3. Click to translate the page with the form, it will open in the WordPress native editor
      4. Insert the second version of your form. The problem is that the form includes error message handling (for example to inform the user that they didn’t fill in a field that was mandatory) and depending on your form plugin these message can be handled diffrently. In other words, I’m not sure if your specific plugin allows you to provide messages in another language. If a form plugin is compatible with WPML, you will be able translate messages but in that case your form for another language is just a translated version with the same logic.

    • Hello,
all other payments with cards are going through normally so it must be something with your card. All I can see in our system that your order is in the “pending” status, which means we have not charged you for it. If you want to try again, you need to log in to your account and you will find a button to pay for it. Go to your Payment history and invoices page and you will find the invoice there. Click View order and you will find the button to pay and proceed to checkout. If you need to request a new password you can do it here https://wpml.org/account/lost-my-password/
Please note that we allow using PayPal or pay directly by a credit card (On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor”) I’m not sure which one you tired. Sometimes when one method doesn’t work, using the other can help.
