  1. Hi.
I have a trouble updating credit card information. I always get the same answer “Sorry, we are unable to process your payment at this time. Please retry later.” So I am unuble to pay. Also I can’t use normal support, because subscription is already terminated.

  2. Hello,

The developer I hired to build my website many years ago used WPML but did not keep paying for future updates, nor did he inform us it was necessary to keep the multilingual site working.

It recently stopped working, so as you can see now, my website is currently only available in 1 language and in the backend (WordPress), pages in all languages are no longer sorted (so it looks like there are several duplicates of the same page).

I intend to purchase either the $39 or $99 plan, and I’m wondering if after purchasing and installing, all my pages will automatically be sorted again (all English pages in the English tab, etc.) or would I have to essentially rebuild the multilingual part of my website? Because that would take a long time.

Also, what is the difference between the two plans? Would using either of them incur any additional/hidden costs? I have all the translations already and just need the technical implementation.

    Thank you,

    • Hello,
please let me know what WPML plugins you have installed on your site and which version. Please go to Plugins and check all of the plugins with the WPML name. Then I will be able to tell you what plan you need. Basically, if your site uses only the WPML Multilingual CMS plugin, the Blog subscription should suffice.

If you update your WPML your should see your translations normally without rebuilding it. In case, you don’t, you will open a ticket (or start a live chat) on our support forum and our supporters will help you to fix your issues. But you need to have a valid WPML subscription first.

  3. Hi Agnes,

The WPML plugin I have seem to be the WPML Multilingual CMS (Version 4.3.11 | By OnTheGoSystems)

Would the Blog subscription be sufficient?

    Thank you,

    • WPML 4.3.11 is a very old version (released 3 years ago) and I’m not sure if in this case, you can upgrade immediately from 4.3.11 to 4.6.3 without problems. In such cases we recommend upgrading gradually. Please do the following:
      1. Buy the Blog package
      2. Log into your WPML.org account.
      3. Go to your WordPress site and register WPML (Plugins > Add new > Commercial tab), regenerate a new key – you will be redirected to your WPML.org account to register your site
      4. As soon as your site is registered, go to our support forum https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/ and click “Report a new issue”
      5. Explain what WPML version you have and that you want to update the plugin but you are not sure if this can be done safely. The support will tell you how to upgrade your site gradually.

  4. Hello,

I have 1 website in 2 languages: English and Portuguese. One language in each different domain: .net and .com.br.

We need to combine the 2 in the .NET

Here is my question: Does the plugin allows me to combine the 2 languages?

Another question: Is it possible have geolocation based on the user IP? I want Brazilian Portuguese to be delivered in Brazil.

  5. I am using the WPML plugin for my WordPress two language site – https://sajo.com/
Now I want to buy credit $99 but I am unable to buy it. I am login via website admin and go >>WPML>>Translate management >> Tools.
But I show only add card option for buy credit.

I am using WPML Multilingual CMS version 4.6.3 and I want to buy $99 credit for my website.

Please guide me on how to do it.

    Thank You,

    • Hello, this website wasn’t registered by the email you used to post this comment with so I’m not sure who owns the related WPML account. Only the person who has an active WPML account/subscription can buy pre-paid credits directly from the wpml.org site (after logging into your account). From what I see in our system is someone called Dawid who had registered your website and he has the Lifetime type of account which doesn’t get any free pre-paid credits. If your site was registered with his Licence you cannot buy pre-paid credits on your own. You can buy only the Pays-as-you-go credits for which you need to provide the card, as you described. You can consider buying the Multilingual CMS package and you will get 90 000 credits for free.

  6. if I use your service to translate my English website into Chinese is the onpage seo going to apply to Chinese version as well? for example, internal linking, h1,h2,h3, alt text etc…? Or I will need to redo it all over again in Chinese version website?

    Thanks

    • Hello,
yes, your existing H1, H2, H3 will be translated and the structure will be the same as for your original page. If you have images on the site, you will be able to translate alternative texts (manually or automatically). You don’t need to redo anything. WPML will copy the headings and the alts to your translated page and you focus only on translating the texts (or the texts will be translated automatically).

  7. Dear WPML team,

I hope this email finds you well. I’m writing to inquire about your credit system that is included with some of your plans. I am interested in purchasing one of these plans and would like to better understand how the credit system works.

Could you please provide me with more information about the following:

    How are the credits used?
How much is one credit equivalent to euros?
Does it cost a credit every time the page has to be translated?
Any additional information you can provide about the credit system would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and assistance with this matter.

Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.

    Best regards,
    Domantas

  8. Dear WPML team,

I’m interested in your service for my company website.
I’d like to know if, for any of the plans you offer, there’s a word limit that can be translated (even manually). I previously had another plugin that could only translate up to 10.000 words.
I’d also like to know if I’ll be able to change the meta description of my site, and if the URLs will be changed as well (I’m translating the whole site to English).

    Best regards,
    Amy

    • Hello Amy,
if you translate manually, you don’t need translation credits at all and there are no limits.
You need translation credits only to translate automatically. You can also mix manual and automatic translations if needed.
If you buy the CMS package you will get 90 000 translation credits that will allow you to translate 45 000 words (if you use DeepL or Google Translate option, DeepL is the default). You can also choose the Microsoft translation engine and in ths case, you will translate 90 000 words for free. Then, you need to buy additional credits and the pricing along with an interactive calculator is here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/

You can translate the meta descriptions of your site too but to do so you need the SEO glue plugin (included in the CMS/Agency packages)

  9. I cannot login to my account with user /mail) and password. The password reset form generates the same password which do not work.
This is very inconvenient as we are testing for 4 sites now

    • Hello Henrik,
I can reset your password manually if needed but before I do so, please let me know if your issue persists.

  10. Just like apple, blackmagic design and all other brands use /br/ for Portuguese Brazil I want to do the same. First because is shorter and second of all, it looks a lot better with 2 characters (br) and not use 5 like this (pr-br).

    https://apple.com/br
    https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/br

I have asked this question before the purchased and I was told to create a custom language.

There is a problem with that! I can’t use the hreflang pt-br to identify my Portuguese from Brazil.

  11. Hi there,

I am trying to translate my Booknetic plugin. I was able to translate everything except the booking panel page. I would like to know if WPML will help me do that before I commit to buying it. Also, will I be able to display the language switcher on the page (booking panel)?

    Thank you!

    • Hello, WPML hasn’t been tested by our Compatibility Team with the Booknetic plugin and the Booknetic plugin is not present on our list of plugins compatible with WPML. If the plugin provides some special features that require special adjustments to be WPML compatible, it won’t work out of the box. You might want to consider choosing a different plugin that is compatible: https://wpml.org/plugin-functionality/booking/

  12. I renewed my subscription and everything is fine, but I recently encountered a problem. I see a problem with the flag settings! When I checked, I found that the OTGS Installer add-on is disabled, and when I want to activate it, it does not activate. Note that I tried to add the extension several times and in different ways, and it always did not work.

    • You don’t need the OTGS Installer as soon as the main WPML plugin is activated because both provide the same functionality (that’s why OTGS Installer is automatically deactivated). Simply go to Plugins > Add new > Commercial tab and you will see the list of plugins OTGS Installer provides. If you have issues with flag settings visit our support forum and open a new thread. You need to be logged in. https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/

  13. Hello, Before purchasing I has a question. The 180,000 credits, how does that work? Is that for each site or total for the account? We have dozens of websites and looking for something new in this department and wondering how that could hamper us? Thanks so much!

  14. Hello,

in your pricing plan ‘Multilingual CMS 99$’ it states that the plan is valid for ‘3 production & 9 development Websites’. What exactly does production/development mean? Can I translate my entire website, or is it limited to 3/9 pages?

I have one website I would like to translate into two additional languages (three languages in total). So I assume that “Multilingual CMS” would be the right plan for me?

    Best regards,
    Oliver

    • Hello,

      > Can I translate my entire website, or is it limited to 3/9 pages?
This is the number of sites (websites) not pages within a specific website.
So yes, you can translate your entire website but please keep in ming that to translate your site automatically you need translation credits. You will get 90 000 translation credits for free which allows you to translate 45 000 words. If you need more credits, you need to pay for them – please check the details here.

Sites that you register as “development” will have a small banner added to your site’s footer saying that this is a development site. A similar banner will be displayed on your WordPress admin too. We introduced this feature to allow our clients to use WPML on more than 3 websites (if they also have staging/testing environments). If you are testing WPML on a copy of your site, feel free to register it as “development” instead of production. With the CMS package, you can register 3 production sites and in addition, 9 sites as development sites. 12 websites in total. You can register and unregister your sites as many times as you want but you cannot get over the limits we have: 3 production sites and 9 development sites at a given time.

Yes, the “Multilingual CMS” plan would be the right plan for you if you want to use automatic translation and have only one website to translate to two additional languages.

  15. Hola equipo!!

Muchas Gracias. Quedo a la espera de su respuesta.

  16. Hello Agnes,

thank you very much for the fast and comprehensive response! I will definitely give WPML a try as soon as my website is good to go.

    Best regards,
    Oliver

  17. I wish to use my web shop as multilingual, I use woo commerce with WordPress standard theme. What is your suggestion, which of your product is suitable for my web shop site?

    • Hello,
you need the “Multilingual CMS” for your WooCommerce site. You say “WordPress standard theme”. Do you have any specific theme in mind? Twenty Twenty-Three? If you use Twenty Twenty-Three, you build everything using blocks. Please note that we don’t have the currency switcher as a block available yet. I’m not sure if you will need the currency switcher. In general, WPML is compatible with WooCommerce and the most popular themes.

  18. We are looking at purchasing but have a question.
Lets say our main language is English and a customer from Serbia fills out a contact form. Does the message come through in english or Serbian?

    • Hello,
first, you need to translate the email notifications. I don’t know which contact form plugin you use but we are compatible with the most popular contact form plugins and you can translate the email notifications sent by these plugins too.

  19. It used to be a website production company, but I’m trying to stop making websites. So I’m trying not to renew WPML, but what happens to WPML active sites? Will there be problems with the website if I don’t renew it?

    • Hello,
if you don’t renew your WPML subscription you can still use WPML on your site but you will stop receiving updates. We cannot anticipate what will happen in the future if you will update your WordPress and you don’t update WPML. WordPress 6.1 release introduced a conflict with WPML and everyone had to update WPML back then.

    • Hello,
we provide two types of credits: Pay-as-you-go and pre-paid credits (you can read more about both here)

Pay-as-you-go credits are cheaper. If you use the calculator we provide.

According to the calculator you will pay $5,337.00 USD for 40 000 000 credits if you use the DeepL translation engine. This will allow you to translate 20 000 000 words to one foreign language. Please see this screenshot:

      https://wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/credits.png

  20. Hi,

We don’t have production site. Is it possible to get just one free licence only for development site?

    Regards,
    Jozsef

  21. Hello! Can I choose Multilingual CMS package for 3 websites then if I like it upgrade to Multilingual Agency if I like it?

    • Hello Vlad,

      Kind regards,
