Hi Agnes, sorry, I should have been more specific to my seo needs.
I only need two languages on my site, and I need both versions of the languages to be indexed. Also, does the basic plan offer url translation and also allow the search engines to index the translated URL pages?
Hello, yes, the basic plan allows you to translate your URLs too. When you translate a post/page to another language with WPML, WPML creates a new WordPress post/page and you can edit its URL/slug as you would do for your regular posts/pages.
Good morning,
We have a website hosted through wordpress and are in need of translation from Italian to English. As of now we’re using Polylang but issues arose. We’ve been told that one possibility was that the plugin was in need of more space allocation. We are looking for alternatives and we were wondering whether your plugin would be able to handle as much as 3.000 products more or less (1.5k for each language). Thank you in advance for your time.
Hello,
yes, WPML can handle 3000 products. Here’s a shop by one of our clients that uses more than 5000 products. It’s been translated to 3 languages by WPML.
Yes, you can translate the URL of your external/affiliate product. When you open your product in the WPML translation editor and you don’t see the link, please start typing in: “http” in the “Search Source” field of the editor and you will see the link. Then you will be able to provide a different one for your other languages.
Hello,
I have a query as I need to use auto translator service in my website but if any where I need to manually change so can I do it my self or need to purchase your service only?
Please share me asap your reply so I can purchase it.
Hello,
is your site using WordPress? If it is, yes WPML can help you because it can translated your site automatically and you can edit the translation manually if needed.
Hi, is it possible to add a variation of the language or custom language? I need my site to be translated in a local language but I have difficulty adding it since its not showing on google translate. Can I manually add it with wpml, if yes how can I do it?

Hello,
does your plugin work in conjunction with other plugins? Most importantly: Would I be able to translate the image titles & descriptions and filters from a masonry portfolio with your solution? (like with this plugin: https://www.elegantthemes.com/marketplace/divi-masonry-gallery/)
Since my website is mostly portfolio based, this would be very important.
best,
Sandra
Hello Sandra,
unfortunately, this plugin is not on our list of plugins compatible with WPML which means that it hasn’t been tested by our Compatibility Team and we are not in touch with the plugin authors to ensure cross-compatibility. For you it means, you may run into issues.
1) Will I be able to use the plugin in conjunction with other plugins like especially a masonry portfolio like https://www.elegantthemes.com/marketplace/divi-masonry-gallery/ ? Or in other words: Can I translate image titles, descriptions and filters of a masonry portfolio with WPML? This is really important since most of my main website consists of these portfolios.
2) Does WPML work with Learnworlds – translating a school’s courses? I only read about it working with LearnDash.
Yes, the prices are in USD. Yes, everyone can request a refund within 30 days after purchase by simply filling out the refund form and we will issue the refund no matter the reason.
We need to investigate the performance issue on a specific website, where you experience the issues to understand the reason. That’s why you would need to open a support ticket and provide us with credentials so our support can lok into this. Credentials are provided in special fields that will be enabled by the WPML supporter. You can introduce yourself as the representative of a hosting company when opening the ticket but this needs to go through our support. Steps: log into your WPML account (or ask your client to do so), visit this link: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/ and click Report a new issue. Ue the “performance” keyword in your ticket subject. Thank you.
my web site backend page is custom fields by fieldmanager plugins and shortcode ui.
I found the wpml cannot get translate content from custom fields but can get content from wordpress original editor, is there anyway to solve it?
WPML can translate content from custom fields. Can I ask what makes you think it cannot? Are you a WPML client? If so, please open a ticket about your issues with custom fields on our support forum.
I selected translate some, and it lead me to a page that i can add translation by myself, but the it wont show my page content, just page title. so i think it maybe cannot.
Another question that I have selected three languages, but the language switch button only shows one. why this? is there related credits or something?
Hello,
please kindly use our support forum to solve your technical issues. You need to be logged into your wpml.org account and then go to this link: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/ and click Report a new issue.
I would like to clarify about auto translation credits.
How does it work? If user changed one language is counted as 1 credit?
If yes, what if it is over the credits limit?
Hi
We are a Swiss non-profit organisation that practices Zen-Buddhism. As we have a very limited budget but want to reach people in all language areas of Switzerland, we need a multi-language tool. Do you offer special licenses for non-profit organisations like ours? We would be very much obliged if you could show your generosity.
What is the cost of additional translation credits? I am interested in an Multilingual Agency account, but want to know the expected cost if I go over the 180,000 translation credits.
Hi
I would like to know if by purchasing the WPML version “Multilingual Blog” I will be able to add and translate two other language versions of a woocommerce based store and a theme (which works with your plugin) based on Elementor by myself?
What I mean is whether I will not encounter any limitations. I point out that I want to translate the additional language versions myself.
Greetings,
Patrick
Hello,
WPML works with Contact Form 7 and ACF and of course you can translate regular posts and pages too. In your case you need to buy the Multilingual CMS package.
Hi there, I have a client looking to translate his site to Portuguese. However, his site is quite old and I’d like to check if this website is compatible with WPML as it’s an old theme and I am unable to update it anymore as theres no support. It uses theme52547 which was a Cherry theme from template monster. I can send screenshots of the theme page so you can see the details on there if helpful
If all is well – we have the content already translated (around 9 pages) so wondering what a rough setup time would be for this. Also can I work on this on the live site and keep everything hidden or will I need to take a copy of the site and build it out / translate it locally before moving over?
Thanks in advance
Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML.
Here you can see the themes compatible with WPML: https://wpml.org/theme/
Please scroll down the page until you see the search. I didn’t find theme52547 on the list so we don’t know if it will work with WPML without any issues.
It’s not clear from your message if your client’s site already uses WPML. If the website in question is the one you provided when posting the comment, I can see it doesn’t use WPML and I assume that the translations you mentioned come from somewhere else (another multilingual plugin?). You would need to translate your site again using WPML (you can copy=paste your existing translation manually if you would like to or use automatic translation by WPML).
Yes, you can install WPML on your localhost (or a testing domain) and then move (for example by using migration plugins).
I cannot find your user with the email address you used when posting this comment. This makes me think you made a typo in your email address when purchasing WPML. Please use this form and send us anything that can help us find you in our system. If you were charged maybe your bank translation number of the 4 last digits of your card. Thank you.
I am a Brizy user and I’ve been trying to understand the situation between the two companies. I understand that Brizy and WPML are not fully compatible yet however people still recommend this option. I saw that I’d need to have the text for each language ready, right? That’s fine. But before I go ahead I would like to understand the following:
– Will I be able to translate the entire website regardless of the type of website I’m building? (brochure sites, blogs, e-commerce, etc)
– Will I be able to translate Brizy’s dynamic templates too? (Like 404 page, archive, blog, post, etc)
– How is the menu created? I saw a comment about how pages aren’t “linked”. As in that Homepage EN and Homepage ES don’t know they are the translation of one another… If that’s the case, how would a multilingual website actually be achieved so that people can stay on the page they are viewing and simply read the text in a different language?
Lastly, how is SEO handled? Can I translate meta details with RankMath and images tags/titles?
Oh and a separate question unrelated to Brizy. Does WPML work for SureCart?
I will try to answer your questions one-by-one but, to begin, I would like to review the current compatibility status that exists for Brizy for other readers. Brizy can be used with WPML but not with the WPML editors. This means that you would need to implement manual translation techniques to translate your Brizy based website. This is covered here: https://wpml.org/errata/brizy-doesnt-work-with-with-advanced-translation-editor-or-translation-management/
Now for your questions:
Will I be able to translate the entire website regardless of the type of website I’m building?
This will ultimately depend on the other plugins and theme that you have installed on your site. In theory, if all are compatible with WPML and with each other (including your system environment) then you should not have any issues translating the entire site manually. If you do encounter any issues under these conditions, we are committed to finding solutions for compatible plugins and for code that is under our control. We don’t normally touch code that has not been written by our own development team but “compatible” solutions have working agreements with plugin authors to facilitate a timely solution to you, our common client.
Will I be able to translate Brizy’s dynamic templates too? (Like 404 page, archive, blog, post, etc)
I could not answer this 100% without testing your specific implementation. Through our support forum, you can ask for a sandbox site where you could try all these specific cases in a standard setup. However, as I mentioned above, if the plugins is listed as compatible, we commit to finding a solution for your various cases.
How is the menu created?
I cannot comment on this if you are referring to a special type of Brizy menu. But, again, if the plugin is listed as compatible, we commit to finding a solution. For normal WordPress menus, the pages are added via object-id (page, post, …etc) and these objects are all connected as “translations of” in our internal tables via WP Menu Sync tool.
With regard to specific image related fields, you may need to also need to install WPML Media Translation if you want to translate image meta texts like the Alternative text, Title, or Caption when images not added via the Media Library and the editor.
This does not mean it will not work with WPML, just that either it has not been tested by our team yet or that we have not yet had the opportunity to form a working relationship with the plugin authors.
Note
As a general comment, I see that you have very specific questions. Please note that our support forum is able to offer to you a sandbox environment to assist you in testing simplified cases of your site specific configuation. You have 30 days to request a refund should any roadblock be found. Our pre-sales forum exists to answer more general questions.
I have a website that allows users to submit and create posts. Currently, I building my website which means I don’t know how many posts will the users create monthly. I want the automated translation service to translate all the posts that are created by the user automatically.
My question is that each post is shown on the home page, the post creator page, the parent category page, the children category page, and in the related posts section.
does that mean that each post will be translated 5 times and I will pay 5 times for each post or is it just one time for each post no matter where it was shown?
and my second question is if the user created the post with an English title (for example, I love my cat). when other users search for a cat in the search bar, that post will be shown on the result page. But if other users search for chatte (cat in French), will that post be shown even though it was created with an English title?
I am asking this question because there are some translation plugins that translate the posts’ content but from the front. I mean the text is translated but in real life, there is no other language version for the post and if the user searches for something in the language, the search result will only contain posts that were created from that language.
if you don’t mind, is there a way to determine (even if it was an estimate) the number of credits I need monthly? if there were for example 50 posts per month.
and by the way, I want my website to have 16 languages. So can you give me an estimate per month for 50 posts per month for all languages or the cost for one language?
and my third question is that I am using gravityforms, gravityview, and ultimate member plugins. Can I also translate those?
Does that mean that each post will be translated 5 times and I will pay 5 times for each post or is it just one time for each post no matter where it was shown?
Our translations are done at the post-id level. This means that you will pay to translate a post one time per language no matter where it is shown.
If the user created the post with an English title (for example, I love my cat). when other users search for a cat in the search bar, that post will be shown on the result page. But if other users search for chatte (cat in French), will that post be shown even though it was created with an English title?
This depends on how the search has coded its sql SELECT query. As our plugin creates translated posts in the database, if filters are enabled, then normally the search result will limit it’s query and results to the active language being used by the site visitor. If filters are disabled, then all languages will be searched and reported in the results list.
The credits are charged on a per-word basis. In this case, you should multiply your max post size allowed (in words) x 50 (posts per month) x active languages (16 in your case) and use the calculator to determine which pricing plan and translation engine would work best for you.
Hello, I want to make my site multilingual and also translate contact form, search engine and others. Can WPML do this and which plan to choose from the three. The site is for real estate. My wordpress theme is DreamHome Pro and the site I purchased from recommended GTranslate and I want WPML but I don’t know if it is compatible with the theme I have DreamHome Pro and can I use WPML for my site.
Unfortunately, the DreamHome theme is not listed as tested compatible with WPML: https://wpml.org/theme/
This does not mean that it will not work with WPML, but that it has not yet been tested by our team. This can be because there is not enough demand for compatibility work or because, at some time in the past, an invitation was made to the theme authors to collaborate on testing but was not accepted by them.
I could not 100% answer if your theme will work with WPML without having it tested. In these cases, we ask you to work through the theme authors as they can contact us here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/
Through our Go Global program, they will receive support for testing and making any required changes to work seamlessly with our plugin.
Alternatively, you may go ahead and purchase a license and then work with our support team to setup q test site to see if it the theme is compatible or not. You have a 30 day window to try the product and then request a 100% refund if not satisfied for any reason.

Hello
I will try to answer your questions one-by-one but, to begin, I would like to review the current compatibility status that exists for Brizy for other readers. Brizy can be used with WPML but not with the WPML editors. This means that you would need to implement manual translation techniques to translate your Brizy based website. This is covered here:
https://wpml.org/errata/brizy-doesnt-work-with-with-advanced-translation-editor-or-translation-management/
Now for your questions:
This will ultimately depend on the other plugins and theme that you have installed on your site. With regard to specific image related fields, you may need to also need to install WPML Media Translation if you want to translate image meta texts like the Alternative text, Title, or Caption when images not added via the Media Library and the editor.
More info here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/
This plugin is not currently found in our compatibility list:
https://wpml.org/plugin/
This does not mean it will not work with WPML, just that either it has not been tested by our team yet or that we have not yet had the opportunity to form a working relationship with the plugin authors.

and my third question is that I am using gravityforms, gravityview, and ultimate member plugins. Can I also translate those?
Hello
Let me try to answer your questions one-by-one:
Our translations are done at the post-id level. This means that you will pay to translate a post one time per language no matter where it is shown.
This depends on how the search has coded its sql SELECT query. As our plugin creates translated posts in the database, if filters are enabled, then normally the search result will limit it’s query and results to the active language being used by the site visitor. If filters are disabled, then all languages will be searched and reported in the results list.
Please review this forum thread for more information on this topic: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/understanding-wp_query-translation/
Please try out our translation estimate cacluator here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
The credits are charged on a per-word basis. In this case, you should multiply your max post size allowed (in words) x 50 (posts per month) x active languages (16 in your case) and use the calculator to determine which pricing plan and translation engine would work best for you.
I hope I was able to address your concerns.
Hello
Unfortunately, the DreamHome theme is not listed as tested compatible with WPML:
https://wpml.org/theme/
This does not mean that it will not work with WPML, but that it has not yet been tested by our team. This can be because there is not enough demand for compatibility work or because, at some time in the past, an invitation was made to the theme authors to collaborate on testing but was not accepted by them.
I could not 100% answer if your theme will work with WPML without having it tested. In these cases, we ask you to work through the theme authors as they can contact us here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/
Through our Go Global program, they will receive support for testing and making any required changes to work seamlessly with our plugin.
Alternatively, you may go ahead and purchase a license and then work with our support team to setup q test site to see if it the theme is compatible or not. You have a 30 day window to try the product and then request a 100% refund if not satisfied for any reason.

I hope this answer responds to your question and provides you a way forward.
