  1. Hello,

I’m looking for a solution to show region-specific content on my WordPress site, functioning similarly to translation plugins. The content should also allow manual customization for each region. Can the WPML plugin fulfill this requirement?

    Thank you
    Kasun

  2. Hi, I have a question regarding automatic translation credits: when purchasing the €99 Multilingual CMS plan, are 90,000 credits provided? And can they all be used on one website even if the plan is 3?

    • Hello,
yes, when purchasing the Multilingual CMS package, your will get 90 000 credits and you will see them on your WPML account. You can assign some or all of these credits to any of the websites you build with WPML. For example you can assign 10 000 credits to site A, 20 0000 to site B and leave the remaining 60 000 credit on your wpml.org for later. Yes, you can use these credits for only one site if this is what you wish.

    5. Does using WPML require any front-end or back-end coding? If so, which programming languages are necessary for customization?

    9. Can we choose not to translate specific media, like our logo?
    10. Are we able to have multiple of our own staff members working on translations simultaneously?
11.Will we need to update translations when WordPress or WPML receives an update? Does WPML support automatic updates for translated content?

    • Hello,
To translate automatically you need a sort of custom “currency” which we call translation credits.
As explained on this page, WPML uses credits to calculate the cost of your translations. Each translated word is worth a certain number of credits based on which translation engine you use:
      – WPML AI – 4 credits per word
      – DeepL – 2 credits per word
      – Google Translate – 2 credits per word
      – Microsoft – 1 credit per word
DeepL is the default translation engine. And here are the list of supported languages:
      https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs
You will receive 90 000 credits when purchasing the Multilingual CMS package, which allow you to translate 45 000 words if you stick to the DeepL translation engine for your site (you can change the translation engine in your WPML settings). If you need more credits you have two options:
      – subscribe for Pay as You Go
      – buy credits in packages
Both options are explained here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/ and this calculator allows you to estimate how much you will pay when using the Pay as You Go option.

  7. Hi! When I buy the Multilingual CMS or Multilingual Agency package, will they still work after the one year of support and updates has ended, even if I don’t renew the account?

And for the Multilingual CMS package: 3 production and 9 development websites mean that I can install WPML on three different websites without a banner showing on the front page and 9 additional websites with the banner showing? Do I understand this correctly?

If I use WPML on a website with a .com domain and then redirect a .de domain to the German translation, that still counts as one website, right?

    Thanks! 🙂

    • Hello

      1. When I buy the Multilingual CMS or Multilingual Agency package, will they still work after the one year of support and updates has ended, even if I don’t renew the account?

Short Answer : Yes – your translations remain with your site and the plugins hooks/actions will remain active.
      More information : https://wpml.org/purchase/wpml-renewal/

      2. for the Multilingual CMS package: 3 production and 9 development websites mean that I can install WPML on three different websites without a banner showing on the front page and 9 additional websites with the banner showing? Do I understand this correctly?

      Answer: Yes!

If I use WPML on a website with a .com domain and then redirect a .de domain to the German translation, that still counts as one website, right?

Answer: That would be considered to be the SAME website. As long as the domains are sharing the same database and installation filesystem, they will share the same site key.

I hope this answers your questions.

  8. Hi, I would like to know if wpml can translate all my e-learning platform made with “tutor lms pro” (courses, lessons, video-lessons, quizzes) or does it need special addons?

  9. Hi,

Can I apply a mixture of manual translate and auto translate in one website? That means I want to auto translate ALL the pages from language A to language B. At the same time, manually translate a few pages to language C. Is that practically okay?

    • Hello,
yes, WPML allows you to apply a mixture of manual translate and auto translate in one website. And yes, you can auto translate ALL the pages from language A to language B and at the same time, manually translate a few pages to language C. When opening your first page (it can be any page) in the WPML Translation Editor, the page will be translated automatically. Click on the “Undo translation” button to switch off automatic translation. You can also control this option in the editor settings (top right corner of the editor). Next head to the WPML > Translation Management and you will be able to select pages in bulk to be translated automatically for some of the languages. Please see the screenshots:
      https://wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/editor.png
      https://wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/bulk.png
      https://wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/skip-lang.png
WPML also offers you the ability to switch off the translation editor for some of the pages and use the WordPress or page builder editor for translations. If you need this option, please follow this tutorial.

    • Hello Ahmed,
we don’t have a monthly plan, I’m sorry. We have a 30-day refund policy in case your are not entirely happy with WPML.

  10. Hello,

I am building a page in English and SLovenian. The Slovenian will be the main language, and the english pages should have the /en/ extension in the url.
Since I don’t speak Slovenian, is it possible for me to create the pages in English and then they will be translated to Slovenian? Is this affecting the workflow somehow? I am using Bricks Builder.

    • In theory, it is possible to create pages in English first (which will be your site’s secondary language). However, you may encounter issues with automatic translation into Slovenian. WPML does not allow bulk translation (handling multiple pages at once) from a secondary language to the primary language—only from the primary to the secondary language.

If you do not speak Slovenian, you can use automatic translation to translate existing pages into English and have someone else review or edit the translations later.

  11. Hello, if I have created all pages in English before installing WPML, and I want to translate them to another language, but the other language should be the default one, how do I do that?

Current when I am launching the setup, it shows me current and default language to be the same. And I would like to choose the current language as English, but the default one to be another one.

    • I just replied to your previous question and only saw this one afterward. If you have already started translating your site, please use our support forum for follow-up.

It is possible to switch languages, but this may cause issues later. We recommend selecting the correct language from the beginning and sticking with it.

  12. Hi
    I want to ask this:
for a website with around 55000 words when we choose plan Multilingual CMS, we have 90000 credits , right?
so if we use DeepL for translation we can use 90000 credits for translating 45000 words. and for remaining 10000 words, how much we should pay? 13 EUR? or 13 EUR * 2? it is not so much clear in your pricing.

  13. Hello,

With the agency account, can we issue licenses to our client’s websites? From what I saw on your website, an Agency can create a developer, finance mangaer and a content manager.

It would be nice to add a Client user and be able to limit the number of automatic translation credits each site can use.

If we translate a client’s website using our agency license, and later they decide that they want their own license, would all the translation we already did on their site stay the same if the choose to switch their license?

    • When you purchase WPML, the translation credits will be assigned to the credit pool in your WPML account, not to a specific website. Only the owner of the WPML.org account can allocate credits to specific sites, and you can also distribute credits among all your sites. Credits will only be available for use on a site after they have been assigned to it. Additionally, you can transfer your WPML account to a specific client, as explained on this page.

Now, regarding translations: translations are stored both in the website’s database (and also in our translation cloud, which leverages translation memory for efficiency). This means that the site owns the translations, and they will remain intact even if you cancel your WPML subscription or change your license.

    • Hello Frank,
We do not offer Lifetime accounts. However, the Agency subscription allows you to register an unlimited number of websites. You can cancel your WPML subscription at any time while keeping your translations and continuing to use the plugins. However, an active subscription is required to receive plugin updates and support assistance.

  14. Hi, regarding the AI Automatic Translations, if I update or edit the content, will it automatically update the translation as well? Thank you

    • Hello,
That depends on your settings. If you use the “Translate everything automatically” mode, the translation will happen automatically. However, if you choose “Let me choose what to translate,” it won’t be translated automatically. Instead, a special “Update required” icon will appear, indicating that you need to open the translation or resend the updated pages for automatic translation.

  15. Unfortunately, not ANY LONGER. You used to do this. I once paid for a lifetime license, but lost my account due to a disagreement with my partner, and now that i’ve started my own agency, i am forced to buy it using the annoying subscription model that nobody likes.
