Hello
I have a user that is having trouble with the ssl + WP + wpml. Can you guys send me a free one week wpsl plugin so I can try to figure out what his issue is? Thank You in advance.
Hello Alex,
you mean a copy of WPML? WPML consists of a few plugins and we don’t send any of these via emails. You need to have an active WPML subscription/account from which you can download the plugins you need. But if your user has the WPML plugin installed you can use his/her copy to run your test.
Hello Marzena,
please log into your WPML account (if you don’t remember your password, please use this link to reset it) and you will see what options you have. Basically, if you renew your WPML before it expires, you will be able to renew for $39. But you say “over the year ago” so you probably can no longer see this option but you should still be able to upgrade to the Lifetime account for $116, which we offer for our former customers. Please log in and check your options.
I need to have my site translated into English, currently is in Spanish only. My theme is DIVI. I have 3 questions:
1) Most images have text written on them and part of the image itself (not some additional text string over the image). I would like to be able to use a different image when the user is viewing the site in English (it will be almost the same image as in Spanish but with the text in English). It is important that the full image is replaced because I am using special fonts on the image and want to keep it exactly as the designer did.
2) In my Spanish version, I want to keep some words in English (e.g., SHOP in the menu, some names of products….) etc, is it possible to keep the current Spanglish and also have a full english version? I want to manually translate everything when needed.
3) As I use woocomerce, just to confirm, I need to buy the WPML Multilingual CMS right?
All the other elements of the site will have to be translated too, but I see that can be done.
When I register my wpml license to the domain I use to develop my site – let’s say dev.mydomain.com – can I change my registration later to the final domain my domain.com?
My webmaster helped us create a WP-engine website. This website is bilingual and my webmaster has used WPML as plug-in to help us manage the UK/French translation of pages and articles.
So we currently have pages in UK and pages in French. On the French Pages, we use your WPML plug-in to translate all text, including articles and titles.
We are now facing a specific issue : When trying to share the FRENCH articles on Social Media, ONLY the UK Titles/Articles get sent.
We have contacted YOAST SE which is the plug-in managing the Social Network sharing activities, and they asked us to contact you, as from their side, it seems that their plug-in seem to manage information in French.
So they believe that the problem might be a “caching” issue on WPML side.
As I am not technical, I can only describe the various issues to the best of my abilities.
I have also contacted WPengine and created an open ticket with them. They asked me to contact WPML support directly as well, after having read the YOAST SE feedback, as they do not believe that caching WP-engine will help on this case.
As we have now spent 3 weeks trying to solve that problem without success, I am contacting you directly as this is now endangering our business and I am looking for a quick resolution.
I attach here a document that describes the problem.
Can you please let me know if you have suggestions on how to improve the situaiton from a WPML side.
Hello Axel,
I am sorry to hear this. You will need the login details to ask for help at our technical forum. Do you have these?
If so, please go to our dedicated forum to clients. Log in and start a new thread where one of our supporters will assist you https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/.
A client has a website and a blog on this web. She only wants to translate the blog (no the whole page). In the WPML Blog option, it offers that possibility? Only to translate one section of the web (blog) in more than one languages?
I am looking forward for your response in order to buy it.
Hello Belen,
Yes, in that case the Blog subscription will suffice. Once it is installed in your client’s site and the languages are added (we have a wizard that will guide you through, the setup is really easy) your client can translate his/her posts. His/here existing posts won’t change and will be included in the language you have chosen as your site primary language.
Can I use WPML to provide automatic translation of content (ie. via Google Translate or similar)? I need to set up a multisite with different languages available. Stakeholders in different countries will, in time, provide manual translation. But in order to get the sites available quickly we are keen to provide the content with automatic translation of content – then manual translation can replace that in due course.
Hey James, we don’t have such a feature (not yet). So you need to provide your translations (or – option #2 you can send some of your pages/posts to one of the professional translation services that are integrated with WPML. If you choose option #2, you will need the WPML Translation Management that is included in the CMS package.)
we are rebuilding our association’s web site on wordpress, and we are looking at using your plug in. The web designer mentioned that you had special prices for non for profit organisations, is that the case?
Hi Alex,
we used to have, we no longer have this offer. But if you are developing WordPress websites, you can buy one WPML license (subscription) of WPML and you can use it for all of your websites.
in the purchasing process I accidentally made a typo in the email address. Now I cannot access my user account or anything else. Invoice Number is 1429770, Transaction wc_order_5a0ab34db70c4.
Could you please either refund the order or send my account details to my correct email address (as used here).
I have a few questions I hope you can help with before I purchase this for a client;
– Regarding American English and British English, what would be the best way to ensure customers are viewing the correct language? Can this be done via IP detection?
I know you can have your browser detect the language, but I would imagine a lot of the time users just pick the default English when installing (probably the US version) which would not suit UK visitors.
– The client only wants to translate some pages. I understand this is possible but just wondering what happens if a user is currently on, eg, the French version, and they click a link to a page with no French translation – would it just show the English version? I know an alternate option is to bring the user to the home page of their language, but would this not cause some kind of a loop if they keep clicking on a link of which there is no translation for their language?
Regarding the language switcher, I can see the screenshot but this still doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. What does “skip language” do? What happens when that is selected and someone on, eg, website.com/fr/ clicks a link to a page that is not in French, what does the “skip language” function do here, what do they see?
Hello Mark,
this is Agnes Bury. Let me follow up on this thread. First of all we don’t recommend using the redirections. These redirections could prevent users (and search engines) from viewing all the versions of your site. Use a language switcher instead. Second, you can add two English languages. You will see some hints here but I would recommend you this video from Google https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/189077?hl=en&ref_topic=2370587
Hello,
I have a client who is using your plugin and we are experiencing an issue. The person whom purchased the plugin no longer works at this organization and the current employees do not have the login/registration so that we can post a support question/ticket.
If you can email me I can send you information regarding whom the purchaser was and the current contacts are so that we can recover our login info.
I am looking to have my site in english and french.
Currently it is in english only. And I have been using the plugin Locotranslate, in order to change some strings from english to english because I wanted to modify the wording.
Is Locotranslate compatible with WPML, can I use both plugins together?
Hello Marianne,
yes, you can. You can also translate strings coming from your theme and plugins using WPML so you don’t need the Locotranslate plugin at all, but it you already use it, no problem.
Can we have trail version for hour or two to see how that plugin translate to language urdu. need to see how much better its comparison with google translator plugin!
Hi, we have an old version 2.9.2 wpml cms running, and some issues with latest WP. Is an update to the newest wpml version (i buy new one) easy? And without loosing anything?
Hello,
Since you are updating from an old version it is always a good idea to back up your site first. You can see how to update manually, if needed, here https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/
Hi,
I am going to buy the Multilingual CMS and I am pondering over the lifetime option.
I read above “… you should still be able to upgrade to the Lifetime account for $116, which we offer for our former customers.”.
1) Am I correct when understanding that at any point in time after buying Multilingual CMS package I will be able to upgrade to the lifetime for $116?
2) If I don’t renew my subscription before the year ends, will the $39 renewal option still be available?
3) Looking past at 2016-17 did WPML break when not updated due to the WordPress core updates?
Thanks!
1. You are correct but please note that this is how it works now but we might change our subscription model in the future. Before we do so, we will announce it to our customers.
2. No, if you don’t renew before your yearly subscription expires, you will need to pay $79 again. We send two reminders, one a month before your subscription is going to expire and one more a few days before it expires.
3. Yes, there were some cases like this, especially if someone wasn’t upgrading WPML and WordPress for long months and suddenly decided to upgrade from a quite old WP version to the newest one.
Hello, if I take a lifetime subscription, how does that work? What if I change my domain name? can I transfer this licence? how is the licence actually connected to the owner?
Hello Johannes,
Thanks for your interest. After buying a subscription from us you are welcome to edit any required detail in Setting and transfer the account to whoever you need by changing the e-mail address, password, etc. For the username you will need to ask us to do it. With an active subscription you can register as many sites as you want. Note that although you can get several keys for the different urls, the account is assigned to one single person, who is the one to handle the subscription keys and access to technical support. You can also grant your clients end-user accounts. More info here https://wpml.org/documentation/support/accounts-for-wpml-end-users/
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further question.
we have a fully customized wordpresswebsite, we changed the template. Will the translator still work with all pages and details? If it does not work on something will you help customize? Thanks. Regards
Hello Nicole,
you mean, you want to switch your WordPress theme? It will fully work with WPML if your theme is compatible with WPML. Please check the list here. If your new theme is not on that list, you might have some issues with translating theme-specific elements. In that case, we cannot help with customizing your theme. It should be the theme author who would apply to join our compatibility programme to make his/her theme compatible with WPML.
Our experience shows that even if a theme is not fully compatible with WPML users can still translate all basic elements such as pages, posts, categories, tags, menus. So you can consider buying WPML keeping our refund policy in mind.
You can start with the cheapest version ($29) and check how it works for you. If it turns out that you need some extra WPML plugins that are included in the CMS subscription, no problem, you can always upgrade without any hassle and you will just pay the difference – you will find a link to do so, in your WPML account.
Hi, I am a web developer and I often set up wordpress website for my clients, which version would you suggest me to buy in order to provide your service to my clients?
Thanks,
Cris
Hello Cris,
This will depend on what parts of the website you want to translate. I would suggest one of the most complete versions: CMS or Lifetime. Note that you can register as many sites as you need with any version of WPML. More details here https://wpml.org/purchase/
Let me know if you have any further question.

Hello Peter,
I’m sorry but we cannot offer anything here but please note that if your website provides good quality content in diffrent languages, it will attract organic traffic from search engines such as Google directly to pages in specific languages (so the user lands on a page in his/her language and no geo targeting is needed). Hello Cecilio,
We accept PayPal, debit and credit card payments and bank transfers through PayPal e-cheques. We do not accept direct wire transfers.
If any of these are good for you we can fill out the required form or prepare a proforma invoice, or any other thing you may need. Let me know and I will contact you privately via e-mail.
Hi,
We are developing travel website and using many plugins and widgets that we’d like to translate to just one language (other than english, of course). I wonder which type of WPML should we use? Multiligual blog or CMS?
Hello eko,
Thanks for your interest. To translate the several parts of your website, including the plugin strings, you will need the CMS version. You can see what you can do with each version here https://wpml.org/purchase
If your themes are not on the list, it simply means we have not tested them. Still, if the author has followed WordPress documentation thoroughly the themes should be basically compatible.
Also note you’re welcome to try WPML with it and see how they work. If you need help, our supporters at the forum will assist you. We will also be happy to work with the author on the compatibility, if needed. If, after all, WPML does not suit your needs we will refund you right away. You have up to 30 days to try it http://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

Hello Magda,
Thanks for your interest. I will answer your questions below
1) Yes, you can choose to upload a new image in the translation. More info here https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/
2) You can choose what to translate and what to duplicate. You can edit the required parts manually as well https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/
3) Yes, the WCML module comes included in the CMS version.
Write back if you have any further question.

Hello Mark,
Thanks for your interest. WPML does not work with IP detection, but we have a browser language redirection feature. More info here https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/automatic-redirect-based-on-browser-language/
In a page the links should all be localized. This means that the language is included in the URL (as a parameter, directory, domain). The only exception is for the language switcher which will provide links to translations. If the translation does not exist, we can define either to display a link the home page in this specific language or not to display the link.
See the first screenshot in https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/
Remember you can also try WPML for 30 days and see how it works. If it does not suit your needs we will refund you https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

this is not on the list.
what do you suggest?
I found a note from the theme authors that their theme is translation ready but they didn’t test it with WPML:
https://themeforest.net/item/service-finder-service-and-business-listing-wordpress-theme/15208793/comments?page=38&filter=all#comment_14657668
Our experience shows that even if a theme is not fully compatible with WPML users can still translate all basic elements such as pages, posts, categories, tags, menus. So you can consider buying WPML keeping our refund policy in mind.
You can start with the cheapest version ($29) and check how it works for you. Many thanks…Peter
Hello Peter,
I’m sorry but we cannot offer anything here but please note that if your website provides good quality content in diffrent languages, it will attract organic traffic from search engines such as Google directly to pages in specific languages (so the user lands on a page in his/her language and no geo targeting is needed). Please check some of our articles about SEO:
https://wpml.org/2017/09/multilingual-seo-8-hints-and-tasks-for-you/
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/multilingual-seo/
So I would focus on Search Engine Optimization and the traffic will come in a natural way.

one is: Alpha Blog and the other is Quality Pro
Thank you Its urgent please!!
Dear Patricia,
Thanks for asking. You can see here a list of compatible themes
http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
If your themes are not on the list, it simply means we have not tested them. Still, if the author has followed WordPress documentation thoroughly the themes should be basically compatible.
Also note you’re welcome to try WPML with it and see how they work. If you need help, our supporters at the forum will assist you. We will also be happy to work with the author on the compatibility, if needed. If, after all, WPML does not suit your needs we will refund you right away. You have up to 30 days to try it http://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
Hope this helps!
Hi, I have forgotten my password for my WPML account. I am unable to reset it because I have changed my email address and I do not have access to my old email address. Would you be able to advise me on what I can do?
Hello Victor,
Do you have the payment receipt? Please contact us here and I will help.
