I am looking forward to purchasing a full membership at WPML, package to translate my website into many other languages, since my “main clients” will be in “non-English” speaking countries. I plan to use Thrive Themes to help build my website at WorPress.org, So, the ability to use and integrate WPML with Thrive products is an absolute “must” !!
Please give me the good news that indeed your WPML products do work with Thrive Themes 🙂
Thank you for your time and kind attention.

We haven’t done testing between WPML and Thrive Architect, so I’m not sure how they work together. If the folks at Thrive will be interested, we’ll be happy to review compatibility together.
I hope that this helps. As a paying client for Thrive Themes, you can tell them that you are interested in them working with us. If more of their clients will encourage Thrive to test compatibility with WPML, we’ll be very happy to do this work together.
Dear Amir, Thank you so much for your detailed and prompt reply, much appreciated.
Regarding the same question, I got the following reply from Thrive and here I quote: “” …. Thrive Themes products can be used for multilingual websites. PolyLang and
WPML are popular among our customers, both should work fine with our
products. … “”.
So I think may be they have already tested it on their end, or the customers have told them that they have already successfully used it?, or ?? only one way to find out – just try? and deal with issues along the way?! 🙂
I would like to create either a pop-up window or a page (first-visit page) and a button. Those must appear with some sort of a logo and a ‘Please select your language’ message. I know how to make that, but I have no idea, how can I connect WPML to those, so the client can select the language and change that if required, using the button.
I will be glad to know the options I have. I also think I may hire a more experienced coder than me, especially the coder, having more knowledge o WP and WPML, especially.
Hi there,
I’m considering using WPML in our website grindersforlife.com. It is a WooCommerce website with that sells physical products with many variations and also bundles (sets). We use a few third-party plugins to help with the display of variations and bundles, invoice and packing slip generation, and shipping calculation.
Before we buy WPML, I’d like to know that it is compatible with the following plugins:
However, if one of your plugins doesn’t appear in this list it doesn’t mean it won’t work. It simply means we haven’t tested it so we cannot guarantee it will work. Most plugins that follow WordPress guidelines will be compatible and if you find problems we will help you resolve them in our support forum: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
Remember that you have 30 days to ask for a refund if something doesn’t work.
Hello Matthias,
You will need the String Translation module for which the CMS version is required. You can try WPML for 30 days and if it does not suit your need we will refund you https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
I’m using LearnDash as LMS of my plaftform. I need a language switcher to switch between languages of LearnDash elements and Courses’ names, buttons and widgets. Just wondering if WPML Language Switcher supports that or not.
Hello Ahmed,
yes, the LearnDash plugin is compatible with WPML, which means you should be able to translate your courses and then switch between your languages using the WPML language switcher. https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/
I need to create multisite with wordpress en and wpml.
will it be possible to make different sites with different languages on dashboard also want to show same languages which are selected for particular sites .
Hello,
you would like to use WPML on your WordPress running in the Multisite mode, is that correct? If so, yes, WPML will work in such a setup and you can configure the languages independently for each of your subsites.
Hello, I would like to cancel my subscription. My account will expire on 2019-05-22 and I do not have automatic renewal activated. Is it correct that I cannot cancel my subscription and it will simply be cancelled automatically on 2019-05-22?
Hello Dick,
canceling the subscription will work only for those of our customers who have the new one (called automated subscription with auto-renewals). If you have the “old” one, you don’t need to do anything. We’ll double check your case.
Hello Daniel,
You have the Multilingual CMS yearly account with no automatic renewals configured. So I confirm that your account will expire on May 22, 2019 and you don’t need to do anything.
Hi there, I have a new possible client and I need to answer his pre-sale questions, even though I have already a site WPML license. His website is on WordPress but pages built with the visual template designer called Themler. Not sure if you have compatibility with this tool, as I have tried to translate a page but dont get text to translate. This is the themler tool web: https://themler.io/
I am looking to purchase the plug-in for a year subscription on behalf of a client. Would it be possible to transfer complete ownership of the plug-in from myself to the client midway through the subscription? If so, how can this be done?
Hello,
yes, this is possible. You just need to log in to the account and edit the required details in Settings. For the username contact us and we will edit it for you.
I would like to purchase a licence for 3 websites, but in 6 months I will have to purchase the version for unlimited number of websites. Is there any option to upgrade my licence that way and do I have to pay the full price for unlimited version or I will just have to pay the difference in price between these two versions?
Hello,
yes, that’s exactly how our system works – you can upgrade your subscription the way you expect later for the difference in the purchase price. You need to be logged in and you will see the relevant option.
Hi I have multiple websites and would love to use this translator, I would just like to know that if I purchase this translator and want to translate the pages myself will this make multiple pages? and if I make changes to the English home page with the design will it automatically make the changes in the duplicated pages that are in different languages?? As it could take us a lot of time changing the same thing on different webpages.
Hello Nicole,
Depends on what you translate (a whole page, a post or just a few strings coming from a widget or a slider) and how the page you want to translate has been built.
If your homepage has been built using the new WordPress editor (Gutenberg) or uses one of the most popular page builders, you don’t need to recreate the layout/design again for each of your languages but you need to translate the content (mostly text strings), it won’t happen automatically. You can speed up your work to apply machine translations (our ATE editor provides) and update those manually where needed.
It is for whole pages of the website, and my websites are on X-theme. Will this work or will I have to manually make changes with the design to copied pages with different languages?
Hi, we are looking to build a Hong Kong version of our site, but will also need translated versions in Simplified and complicated (traditional) Chinese (Mandarin), I assume this three-language option is possible. (The default language will be traditional Chinese yet the original source data will be English)
Once the English site is translated is it possible to draft new posts in Simplified and complicated (traditional) Chinese (Mandarin)and then translate them to English, kind of a reverse engineer or does everything have to be created first int he original language of the site (ie: English)
Hello Mark,
you can choose Chinese (both traditional and simplified) as your primary language and then add English as your secondary language. You don’t need to use any workarounds. What’s I’m saying you don’t need to create everything in English first. Please see the screenshot: https://wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/site-languages.png
Hello Reddle,

I get what you are saying. But do I need the Multilangual CMS package in terms of the features? Because if I do not, I can also buy two Multilangual Blog licenses…

Hello! We are starting to use Talent-LMS. I read about that WPML can be used to translate LearnDash components. Does it have the same compability with Talent LMS? Thank you!
So I received the credentials, but now I am told I need to update and repay but I didn’t had any refund on my side…Please either activate or cancel the whole payment so I can pay with a credit card 🙂

IS THIS COMBINATION OF PLUGINS GOING TO MAKE THE SITE SLOW TO LOAD? HOW TO AVOID THIS?
We don’t have any black list of plugins that will make your site slower when used with WPML. Every case is different. Please read the articles I’ve linked above and you will be a better understanding of the topic. I hope it helps.
We are looking into using your plugin for a dual currency (USD and Canadian dollar) e-commerce site. We have learnt that our current payment process company, Square, does not support receiving payments in their respective currencies, and thereafter, transfer funds to us to two separate accounts. Obviously, we do not want the payment processing company to convert one currency to another for us. Do you know of any payment process company that can handle this scenario that also works with your plugin?
Our plugin is setting the currency for WooCommerce. WooCommerce communicates this to the payment gateway. So, any payment processor which works with WooCommerce will get the currency codes. I think that the scenario that you are describing is pretty popular in this industry. Payment processors enjoy very much when they need to do currency conversion. We ran into this already with PayPal and with 2checkout. I hope that you find a processor that doesn’t do this trick.
Hi,
I’m wondering whether your plugin is useful for my need. I have a website in Italian and I opened my market to Poland. My wife is Polish so she creates brand new pages, articles, products in Polish. So I don’t need to translate anything.
But, when a customer buys one of our web courses, woo commerce buttons, descriptions, automated mails (and so far and so on) are in Italian.
The question is: is your plugin able to translate just the woo commerce process? And what version should I purchase?
If your site uses WooCommerce you will need the Multilingual CMS package.
Please note that WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically.
Renewals are optional – to get access to new versions and our support help. WPML plugins will continue to function even if you don’t renew your subscription.

We haven’t done testing between WPML and Thrive Architect, so I’m not sure how they work together. If the folks at Thrive will be interested, we’ll be happy to review compatibility together.
In the meanwhile, I did some research and found that some of our clients are using Thrive. For example, this support thread explains how to translate designs by Thrive Architect:

Yes, the best way would be to try it. This user:

If you can code that page yourself, you can just link to the desired homepages in different languages. For example, on our site:
https://wpml.org/
https://wpml.org/es/
https://wpml.org/de/
To free the root page of your site for this landing page, you can move the site’s default language:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/directory-default-language/
Does this help?

I’d like to know if it’s possible to subscribe to your service without the use of cards, but through invoice and bank payment?
Thanks in advance,

Hello Nikola,
thanks for your interest in WPML. No, it’s not possible. You need to use either a card or PayPal.
Okay thank you for you info.
One more question:
After each payment, do you send invoice over e-mail?
Both. I mean, we send an email and you will see your invoice in your WPML account.

Hi – I noticed WPML are introducing an option to have payments routed to different stripe accounts for different countries, as described by Konrad from WPML in a comment on this thread – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/multiple-stripe-accounts-based-on-account-currency/
It sounds like this feature may now be ready? We urgently need it – please clarify.

Hello Diego,
You can translate your WooCommerce store with our bridge plugin WooCommerce multilingual https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/ You can choose what to translate and what not.
You will need the CMS version for this.
Let me know if you have any other question.
Hi, would like to know if it is possible to use the IP address of the site visitor to automatically choose the language of the website?
WPML doesn’t have these IP mapping tables. Instead we have a feature to set the site’s language according to the browser’s preference. Have a look here at how it works:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/automatic-redirect-based-on-browser-language/

Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML.
If your site uses WooCommerce you will need the Multilingual CMS package.
Please note that WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically.
Renewals are optional – to get access to new versions and our support help. WPML plugins will continue to function even if you don’t renew your subscription.
