  1. Hi,

We are looking at using WPML as our primary WordPress language system, however I have a few questions regarding functionality that we require.

    1. We currently need to have support for 5 languages, although we do not have the resources available to translate each article. Is there functionality available to auto translate all articles. Adding on to this, if the posts are auto translated, and then edited will these changes reflect in the other languages?

    2. We have an internal “dictionary” which means that some words either shouldn’t be translated, or should be translated to something different which an auto translate tool would not pickup on. How easy is it to override translations which will recur throughout future changes?

    Thanks!

    • Hello Volker,
I am afraid we don’t accept direct wire transfers. You can pay with PayPay or a credit/debit card.

      Kind regards,

    • Hello Antoniss,
This looks like another translation plugin.
If so, you cannot use it at the same time with WPML.

      Let me know?

  3. Hi WPML
I’m planning on purchasing your translation solution for a website I’m building for a client. My question is…
I am developing the site on a development site using an alternative domain name: http://www.cymaxdev.com.
I see your license is for 1 website. When the site is ready to launch we’re going to point the domain name galileemedicalcenter.com
    to this development site.
What do you recommend so I don’t have to purchase 2 licenses for this client?
    Thank you!

    • Hello Daniel,
you don’t need to purchase 2 licenses. Please take a look the “Websites” row at the pricing table:
      https://wpml.org/purchase/
As you can see we offer extra keys for development sites. When you register a domain on your WPML account you can mark it as production or development. You can change this “flag” later. This allows you to register 4 sites (domains) in total if you buy the Blog package and up to 12 sites if you buy the CMS package.

Please note that there is a huge difference between the Blog and the CMS package in terms of functionality offered. Vast majority of our clients choose the CMS package.

  4. Hi,

  5. Buongiorno, per un sito di un ristorante dovrò inserire solo una lingua, forse successivamente una seconda lingua.
È molto semplice e basico, vorrei sapere se funziona con iMaginem Pagebuilder r5.

Inoltre vorrei acquistare BLOG MULTILINGUE, mi chiedevo il “Supporto completo per la modifica del sito” cosa comprende?

    Grazie

    • Hello,
This is the list of pages builders supported by WPML:
      https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/page-builders/

If your page builder is not there, you can still use WPML on your site but you will need to rebuild the translated page from scratch in that page builder which is time-consuming.

Please check if your theme is on the list of our compatible themes:
      https://wpml.org/theme/

If your theme and your page builder are not on the list of our compatible page builders and themes, you won’t benefit much from the “CMS” package and the “Blog” package might be a good choice in your case.

  6. Getting an automatic translation account, it is possible to do manual changes for those translations after? for example for those that translations did not fit expectations.

  7. Hi, we are looking to change our website that is currently running 4 different installations on 4 urls for different countries.
Is it possible to build a wp site using wpml on one installation url with all languages and afterwards connect the other urls to the new translations via dns-forwarding as explained in one of your articles?

  8. Hi, I currently use pollylang in my projects, but I would like to migrate to wmpl cms. Unfortunately the price of 99$ is out of my budget. I would like to know if you can get any discounts for me to enter the world of wpml.

    Good Morning.

    • Hello Erick,
thank you for your interest in WPML. We don’t offer any discounts for WPML. The $99 price includes access to all of the features (including the Advanced Translation Editor and automatic translations, which are optional) and all the WPML add-ons we provide and also to our support forum and assistance and we believe it’s a fair price. You will also get 90 000 translation credits for free which allows you to translate 45 000 words using the Google Translate engine WPML integrates with. And this way you can test how automatic translations work and how these can speed up the process of translating your site. Some of our affiliate partners might offer some discounts but you would need to look around. I hope it helps.

  9. Hi,
i bought a Multilingual CMS for 3 sites. The support is expired but is not a problem. Now i need another one Multilingual CMS for other 3 sites.

In the purchasing page, there isn’t the possibility of purchase it but only to renew the old.

    How can I do?

    • Hello Matteo,
If your CMS expired this means you are no longer receiving updates for the sites you have already registered.
If you want to keep the current sites registered and add 3 more you will need the Agency subscription.

      Kind regards,

  11. Hello
Can we do a manual translation after the automatic translation and how can we change it?! Looking to use it with our learndash plugin

  12. Hello,
If I pay the 99dollars, will my website be translated automatically always into any language I need?
I need: Spanish, italian, polish, german, french, dutch.

I have a real estate website, so every time I upload a house, will the description I write automatically be translated?

Do I have to pay 99 dollars every year or is it a one time purchase?

    • Hello,
WPML provides a feature that allows you to translate your whole site automatically (as one of the options) but please explain how you upload new real estate properties: do you use a special theme or plugin for this purpose? If so, which ones? In some cases, you need to manually select the content to translate (you can apply automatic translations for them too but it won’t happen fully automatically). To use automatic translations, you need translation credits. If you buy the $99 package you will get 90 000 credits for free and you can translate 45 000 words with this quota.

  13. Hi,

I run a online store that is chefpanda.pt

I am wondering if I should use:

    1) the current website chefpanda.pt to get it translated, where the URL architecture would be chefpanda.pt/de for German, for example
    2) a brand new website with an international domain. In this case, the URL architecture would be mychefpanda.com/de, for example

Finally, if we want to translate into one website into 4 languages, should we choose the Multilingual CMS plan?

    Best regards,
    Ricardo Franco

    • Hello,
      1. Yes, you can use WPML to translate your WooCommerce store to German
      2. Yes, no problem.
      3. Yes, you should choose the Multilingual CMS plan in this case. It will allow you to use WPML on 3 production sites (domains) plus a few testing sites. You can add as many languages as you want.

  14. Hi,

I just want to know if the plugin can detect the IP address of the user and display the site page according to his/her country?

    Thank you,
    Zakaria

    • Hello, WPML has a redirection feature but not based on IP. It works a bit differently: it can redirect the user based on their browser language. This option is disabled by default and you would need to enable it in WPML settings.

  15. Hi,

Thank you. But my main question maintains 😬 I am wondering if I should use:

    1) the current website chefpanda.pt to get it translated, where the URL architecture would be chefpanda.pt/de for German, for example
    2) a brand new website with an international domain. In this case, the URL architecture would be mychefpanda.com/de, for example

    • Hello,
ah, sorry, so you were asking which option is better 1 or 2, okay, now I get it 🙂 The first option is better because your existing domain is already indexed by search engines. It’s perfectly fine to use .pt domain with de as a “folder” for the German version.

  16. Hi there,
the developer of our website is out of business.
We need to renew our WPML CMS support for plugin updates.
We dont have access to the original buyers e-mail.
Do we need to buy a brand new license or can we renew it for the domain?

    • Hello,
if you don’t have access to the original email the person who bought WPML, you need to buy anew with your own email. You can use the same set of plugins (or update theme if needed) but to do so you need to re-register WPML with your own key.
      Steps:
      1. Buy WPML (the CMS package)
      2. Log into your WPML account, register your domain, grab the key
      3. Go to your WP site, Plugins > Add new > Commercial tab
      4. Unregister WMPL and register it again with the key you copied in step 2.

  17. Hello, what does it mean, 40k credits. 200k credits?
What can be done with 40k credit? I would like to understand how it works.

    • Hello, credits allow you to translate words if you use automatic translation (which is optional but speeds up your time).
1 credit = 1 word if you use the Microsoft Azure translation engine. You need 2 credits to translate 1 word if you use the Google Translate translation engine. And 3 credits if you use DeepL. WPML supports these three engines (they are integrated with WPML, they just work out of the box). In WPML, Google Translate is the default which means that 90 000 you are getting for free when buying WPML CMS package allows you to translate 45 000 words on your site. 40k = 40 000, so you will translate 20 000 words. You can also pay for credits using the so-called “Pay as you go” option, which is the cheapest way to get credits.

    • Hello, your previous question was awaiting moderation. I hope my previous answer helped you to understand what credits are and how they convert into words. I don’t know how big your site is and what exactly you would like to translate. All of your products? If so, please estimate the number of words for an average product and then multiply it by the number of products you have on your site. Then check how many other pages you have, how many words per each. BTW, you can also do this: After installing WPML plugins, don’t select “Translate everything” but go to the WPML > Translation Management Dashboard instead and select a few pages. You will see the number of words for them all at the bottom of the screen. This will allow you to estimate how many credits you would need for your site.

  18. Hello,

I am actually using Gtranslate, but I have issues with a plugin that requires WPML to post my content in social media in different languages.
The plugin is Revive Old Post.
My blog has more than 1,000 post, which is massive. I cannot afford to pay for the content translation.

Can I purchase your plugin and have the same functionality os Gtranslate, which translates all on the go and have my translated content cached in their servers?

How will it be the transition?

I would like to receive an email and be able to ask more questions about this.

    Thanks

    • Hello Eduardo, no, you cannot use Google translations “on the go” and have your translated content cached in their servers. WPML works differently. It stores translated content in your WordPress database.

  19. Hi,

I understand your point, however it may be weird for a german customer to land on a .pt domain with a folder /de don´t you think?

If we create a open .com with portuguese content on categories and products, can it then be replaced into english? I mean, the .com domain by default should present english content. I´m asking this because it seems the translated version by default go to a separate domain: https://wpml.org/home/how-to-build-a-multilingual-wordpress-website/

    • Hi Ricardo – If your original site (.pt) is already live and indexed by Google, you may not want to migrate it to a .com, but it’s completely up to you. WPML can help you translate your content into any language.

If you’re thinking about having .com for English and .pt for Portuguese, you can also set your site up to use different domains for each language. In this case, your German content wouldn’t be a directory of your .pt site, but its own domain instead. Here is some more information about the different URL formatting options: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/
