Someone can solve the problem. Why wpml translations go back to the original language at once ? The problem is constant.
For example, customer data boxes in the shopping cart. The original language is English and the translation is done in Finnish, then the moment is back in English. Where do such problems come from ?
Hi. I have installed WPML on my site and store. We offer giftcards and are using the YITH plugin. When WPML and YITH is active, there is no option to add an giftcard to the cart. But when WPML is deactivated the item can be bought. How do we resolve this? We really need the site to have translation.
Is it possible to create two different content in two languages ? I don’t neceseraly need or want to translate every piece of content of my website, sometimes I dont want to translate. In fact I have two content strategies, one for France, another for the USA.
Example :
myblog.com/en/how-to-do-this
myblog.com/fr/nouvelle-video
Hi Jean – Yes, you can create different pages with different designs by translating your site manually. This links the pages as translations of each other for SEO and navigation purposes, but you create the content completely from scratch in your secondary language.
Hi,
I’m interested in purchasing the Multilingual Blog Plan for my food blog, will I be able to translate the recipe card (plugin Create by Mediavine) with WPML? I’m specifically interested in translating the titles and text that comes with the plugin (Ingredients, Instructions, Prep Time, etc.)
Thanks!
Hello Liliana,
this plugin has never been checked by our Compatibility Team and I didn’t find a single WPML client using it. There is no information on its compatibility with WPML out there but I don’t think this plugin will be working with WPML out of the box considering the functionality it provides.
we already have 4 running sites on different domains for different countries, and while we are building the new site we would like to keep those intact. Is there a way to do this and when we have all the new translations in place, change the DNS?
Hello,
nope, because the translations from different languages need to be crossed linked, meaning WPML needs to store the information which post/page is a translation of which.
Hi wpml
I will build two language website, Arabic and English, and I have two logos, one for Arabic and the other one for English, which one of the three accounts is good for me?
Thanks
Users with existing WPML accounts will get some discounts provided your subscription gets renewed before it expires (or auto-renews). If you are logged into your WPML account and you cannot see any discount it might mean that it’s already too late.
Hi,
I’d like to ask you, I have a website. It was made by a contractor.

1. My theme not listed in your WPML-compatible. How to install your service?
2. free credits meaning? If I use more than this quota. How to calculate price?
Currently I’m running my webshop in Hungary, but in the next months im planning to launch my site in the neighbour country Romania and as I see now I’ll use your translation solution and I have a question regarding to the review collecting.
I would like to use separated domains so i’ll will have:
mysite.ro
mysite.hu
Is it possible to collect the reviews together in every language and if neccessary auto translate them to the local language? So finally which i want to see on my sites is:
Prodcut review on mysite.hu:
-review(1) in hungarian
-review(2) in hungarian (auto translated from romanian)
Prodcut review on mysite.ro:
-review(1) in romanian (auto traslated from hungarian)
-review(2) in romanian
Hello, can you tell us what exactly do you do to renew it? Are you logged into your WPML account? What do you do next? What makes you think you cannot renew it?
I am currently preparing my blog on a staging website. When I finished the design and content, I will switch the domain and build up the wordpress installation from scratch on the target site.
Can I already buy the “Blog” version to get familiar with it on the staging site and then move my account to the final target site, or will I have to buy it a second time for the target site?
If I buy the “Blog” version and if I decide later to change to the “CMS” version, can I upgrade or do I have to pay the full price for the “CMS” version?
Hello Jakcy,
we don’t handle payments manually because it’s a subscription-based system and when you buy WPML we set up auto-renewals (which can be canceled by you at any time). You can buy WPML using your PalPal or credit card.
I’m building sites for my customers. As today I got a lifetime license for one customer. Right now i’m building a new site for another customer but can’t find lifetime licenses.
Lifetime is perfect for me, i only bill the customer one time for their license even if they change the company that is maintaining their site, WPML is working.
I do not want annual billing since that wouldn’t debet my credit card.
One CMS for one site – lifetime is license i think a lot of developers are interested in, and would be easier to get the customer to choose.
Helo Paul,
we don’t offer lifetime licenses anymore. This model turned out to be unsustainable in the long run and as you might have noticed other WordPress companies are also giving up this option. You might want o check the transferring option too: https://wpml.org/purchase/transferring-account-renewals-to-your-clients/
Hi! I am planning to purchase the WPML plugin, but I have a technical question I need to solve before doing that. I am planning to set up a multilingual site with just one page (more like a landing page). And I have 2 concerns:
1- What if there is a language that is not supported? Can I set it up and add my translations manually?
2- I have a custom coded HTML form at the end of my page, would the plugin translate the labels in that form too?
Hello,
1. Here’s the list with supported languages for automatic translation: https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs
If your language is not on that list you can still use it on your WPML site but with manual translations.
2. I don’t think it happens out of the box and you might need to add a special config file to your site to let WPML see the labels of your form. You are welcome to open a support forum thread if you get stuck.
Hi,
i use metabox plugin, and i want to translate custom fields LABELS for different admins with different languages.
is this possible ? and how can i do that ?
Thanks for your replay,
but my question was about the admin area, please forward my question to technical team, because it’s an advanced topic,
when i change the language on admin area ( the backend ) i need my metabox custom fields “””LABELS””” to be translated,
not for frontend, i need translations for different admins with different languages !
i hope you can understand me, and i can’t find this specific question on the forum, everythig is about the custom fields contents but not labels !
these labels are stored on the database.
Hello there,
It would depend on how your plugin is storing that information. For a multilingual ready plugin, WPML should be able to read and translate those labels for the backend. You would need just to analyse your plugin and translate those strings using WPML String Translation

No, you cannot set up WPML to fully automatically translate only some parts of your sites. If you disable the “Translate automatically” mode, the admin of the site (or the Translation Manager) needs to choose what to translate. It won’t happen fully automatically. Then the machine translations can be used as well but the admin needs to select what to translate.
I am very interested in using your plugin.
Currently I am looking int the total costs, but unfortunately this is not clear to me.
The geolocation is obtained in WooCommerce via MaxMind GeoLite2. However, the MaxMind website mentions this:
“Users of the GeoLite2 web services are limited to 1000 IP address lookups per service per day.”
As I think that every pageview counts as one lookup, I will hit this limit quite soon.
Do I need to spend additional money on top of the WPML buying price in order for WPML to be able to determine the visitors location?
Hello Mike,
there is no geolocation detection feature in WPML. We offer browser language detection: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/automatic-redirect-based-on-browser-language/
If you plan to use a 3rd party plugin for IP location it won’t affect the costs of WPML plugin. When you buy WPML two kinds of costs are involved:
– purchasing the plugin – we provide 3 options: https://wpml.org/purchase/
– buying extra translation credits in case you want to use automatic translations and you run out of the free quota we give you for free
Hi, I am a developer for a multilingual site / store. The site is using the Divi theme and the WOO Commerce blocks to build the cart, checkout and payment pages.
The site currently uses the Polylang plug-in by WP SYNTEX to enable a french version of most pages.
In the back end of the pages I see this notice – ” WooCommerce Multilingual is enabled but not effective. It requires WPML, WPML Translation Management and WPML String Translation in order to work. ”
My client wants to use Woo Commerce blocks moving forward. Currently the shop, cart and checkout pages do not automatically translate.
Im wondering if my client purchases a registration from you, will the notice disappear and will the above mentioned pages translate appropriately.
Also does my client HAVE to buy the CMS version or can the blog version do what I need. I do want ecommerce support, but the site is very basic so Im not sure, perhaps you can visit the site and help me determine.
Thanks
This is urgent so any help you can offer is much appreciated.
Hello,
to translate WooCommerce site you need the CMS package (the Blog package won’t suffice) but not all blocks can be compatible at the moment. Could you please list the specific blocks you have in mind and from which plugin they come from (the core WooCommerce plugin or one of its extensions/addons?). I will check their status with our Compatibility Team. Another option is to buy WPML and test it yourself keeping our refund policy in mind that allows you to test WPML for 30 days without any risk.

Hello again, so I got a reply and wanted to add to that answer, but the “reply” button does not seem to work.

Hi!
Does wpml translate from polish?
Hello,
yes, it does. Here are the supported languages for automatic translations:

As you can see you can translate to Polish both with Google Translate and DeepL when you use WPML.

Hello,
WPML plugins are the ones with the WPML prefix so you need to buy the Multilingual CMS package if you want your own WPML account. Another option is to ask the contractor to transfer the account to you: https://wpml.org/purchase/transferring-account-renewals-to-your-clients/
We are a 501c3 nonprofit. I noticed here (https://wpml.org/forums/topic/nonprofit-purchase/) that there were nonprofit discounts at one point in time. Is that still happening?
Yes, we offer a 50% discount for non-profits. Please apply here: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/
Hello
1. My theme not listed in your WPML-compatible. How to install your service?
2. free credits meaning? If I use more than this quota. How to calculate price?
Thanks
Hello Michael,
1. Vast majority of WordPress themes work with WPML even if they are not listed on our compatibility page. The steps for installing WPML are always the same and covered here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/
2. You can check the pricing here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
Please note that tomorrow we will change the pricing model to a simple one where you pay only for credits used.
So please visit this page again tomorrow.

Hello,
WPML allows you to use a separate domain for each language but the setup requires some changes on your server. Please check the details here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language
What plugin do you use for reviews?
It needs to be compatible with WPML to get these reviews translated.
hello team

Hello Frank,
The Blog version will be enough. You will also get a separate registration key for your development site.
See here https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#register
Kind regards,
If I buy the “Blog” version and if I decide later to change to the “CMS” version, can I upgrade or do I have to pay the full price for the “CMS” version?
Yes, you can upgrade for the difference only.

Hello,
WPML is compatible with the Metabox plugin:
https://wpml.org/plugin/meta-box/
which means that everything you create with the plugin should be translatable.
This documentation should help too:
https://metabox.io/translate-custom-fields-with-wpml/
Make sure you mark your fields as translatable as mentioned here:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/metabox-items-are-not-showing-translation/

Hello Christian,
when awaiting your answers here’s what I found out:
WooCommerce Blocks are supported by defining via XML the translatable strings they contain.
Specifically, here is the XML that defines them:
https://github.com/OnTheGoSystems/wpml-config/blob/master/woocommerce-multilingual/wpml-config.xml#L146..L171
(this is part of the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin)
If there are any missing you can send us a request through support, or define them yourself following the documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/#gutenberg-blocks
There is an open issue about Divi and WooCommerce described here (with a workaround):
https://wpml.org/errata/divi-woo-title-and-woo-description-modules-dont-display-the-translated-product/
I want to translate a web page develop with elementor it will work if i use this version (Multilingual Blog)?
Hello Camila,
to use WPML with Elementor you need to buy the CMS package. The Blog package will not suffice in this case.
