Hello,
you can open each of your translated pages in the WPML translation editor and make edits to translations (you do it from within the normal all Pages screens in your WordPress by opening the translated pages for editing).
Also, if you select in your WPML settings one of these options:
1) Review the translations before publishing
2) Publish translations and review them later
you can go to your Translation Queue and you can click on the Review button. It works like this:
at first, it shows you the front-end preview of the page and you can quickly scan the pages to see of there is anything that requires editing. If so, you open the translated page for editing in the WPML editor and you make edits where needed.
This page explains the process: https://wpml.org/documentation/reviewers/how-to-work-as-a-reviewer/#reviewing-translation-jobs
Is this a lengthy process?
Modern translation engines (DeepL or Google Translate which are used by WPML) provide a very good quality of automatic translation these days. 90% of your site’s content is fine and doesn’t require any updates. Some of our clients don’t make any edits at all, some think that some pages require someone who speaks the language to do the review.
You can check the DeepL translator in its online tool: https://www.deepl.com/translator WPML uses the same engine. Please note that the longer text you provide, the better your translation becomes because the Artificial Intelligence used behind the screens and the sophisticated translation algorithms can better understand the context of your text.
Hello,
you won’t find Spanish for Mexico in the default list of WPML languages. You can use the “general” Spanish (and disable the flag of Spain from your language switcher) or you can add Spanish for Mexico with your own custom flag as the so-called custom language. If you are not interested in automatic translation please select “Translate some” instead of “Translate Everything” in your WPML wizard. Then, you can decide if you want to use the WPML’s translation editor (where you will see two columns) or you want to use the standard WordPress editor for your translation. If you want to use the WordPress editor, you will need to disable the WPML’s editor. To do so, please open a page for editing and disable the WPML’s editor on the right-hand sidebar. https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/
I am wondering about the permalink structure for a multisite installation with WPML. The website in question, to be translated, has subdirectories as a structure.
We are looking for the following link structure: domain.com/en/sub-site/
Is this possible with WPML?
The following link structure is not desirable: domain.com/sub-site/en/
Hello, the default structure of WPML is this one: domain.com/en/page-1, domain.com/en/page-2 etc
page-1 and page-2 will represent the slug of your pages, which are created based on the page title. For example domain.com/en/how-to-cook
since I can’t reply directly to your answer, can you send me an email for further explanations with support about how WPML can fix my issue with translation?
Hello there. Hope you are well. I am starting the purchase process and your form is not accepting my VAT number. I am working as an independent worker, not as a company. I tried entering the VAT number in several formats but the system keeps asking for a valid VAT number. Could you please let me know how to preceed? Thanks in advance.
Yes, you can use your credit card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.
I am planning a client site that is in English and Chinese. I plan to use MapSVG plugin for an interactive floorplan and directory of vendors in a commercial real estate property. I don’t believe the plugin supports WPML, however is it possible to change the shortcode on the Chinese version of page to display a different map?
Hello, is WPML compatible with SiteGround Optimizer, specifically with cache? I’m currently testing translatepress and I get errors and some texts don’t translate when I have the cache on.
Can my client – Vicwest – transition between WPML accounts without losing any of their current settings or translation database? They wish to renew (re-purchase) your plugin suite under a different account than the current.
Hello Mathew,
if your client keeps the same site (domain and WordPress installation) and they only want to change the email or WPML subscription, they won’t lose anything but they will need to unregister and registered their WPML site (with a new key), which is done from within the Plugins > Add new > Commercial tab screen in your WordPress site and from within your WPML account screen (“Register WPML on your sites” section). However if they plan to move the domain or reinstall WPML and they used automatic translations and translation credits, it’s more complicated and someone from our support team would need to understand their case in detail to advise them the correct steps to follow.
You don’t say much about the reasons of repurchasing. Please note that the following options are available too:
1) change the email address of your WPML subscription
2) upgrade (from Blog to CMS or CMS to Agency)
3) change the payment method
4) transfer renewals to the client
If we know more about your reasons, we can better advise how to proceed in your case.
You can also contact us directly about this matter via this form https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/
I can’t buy with Paypal. It seems that the Paypal process restart 3-4 times asking the same things with the same page then it ends with a generic error and the order is cancelled.
Hello Simone,
How about if you try with a credit card? On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.
I can see in our system that other translations from PayPal (from other clients) are going through normally now, so might want to try once again or you would need to check with PayPal.
Hello, the following languages as supported if you need automatic translations: https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs
If your language is not present on that list, it means you can add it to WPML too but you will need to translate it manually.
I can’t pay directly, we need to use Paypal.
We use Paypal continuously, this is the first time it didn’t work, I think there’s a problem with your site.
For your engineers, the error code is: /checkout/genericError?code=REVGQVVMVA%3D%3D
Hello Tim,
we don’t have any plan with unlimited translation credits. Translations are not free for us either. We pay for the translation credits to DeepL or Google Translate too. You can add as many languages as you want but if you want to use machine translation, you need to pay for the translation credits. This page explains what are your option to buy extra credits: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
Hi I am interested into buying this plugin to translate my website … I heard its the best 🙂 I saw other plugins tho which are free so I wanted to ask what features does this plugin have that the free once don’t and thx
Hello,
WPML is famous for its flexibility and the variety of options it provides. You can translate your site manually, and automatically, you can mix the translation methods, you can choose your translation engine (DeepL, Google Translate, Microsoft), and you can translate your WooCommerce products too. You can translate your URLs, you can add translators to your site and many more.
Hi,
I have WPML Multilingual CMS Version 3.2.7 installed.
Do I need to update the plugin? I’m just a private user with a few WP sites. Thank you. Daniel
Hello Daniel,
Yes, you need to update the plugin and you should keep all your WordPress plugins updated and also you should use the freshest version of WordPress itself. This is for security reasons and also to avoid cross-compatibility issues. WPML 3.2.7 is very old and if you update to the recent version of WPML (4.5.14) you might run into issues. For such cases, it is recommended to upgrade gradually. The best would be to do it on a copy of your site too and staring with upgrading to versions that are newer than yours but also old. You can also create a ticket on our support forum to get some further advice on how to proceed. You can also hire one of the advanced WPML users who offer paid help: https://wpml.org/contractors/ As soon as you have an active WPML subscription, you can use both options (our support forum and/or open a request for WPML contractors).
Hi,
I have question about translation author base slug.
I need to put custom slug example. /user/ and want to translate in every language. Is it possible with your plugin?
Thanks.
(Please note that in our case (examples above) you don’t see Spanish translations because we don’t translate all of our posts to other languages.)
Now, my understanding is that you want these URLs to be translated to something like this:
Hello,
WPML uses APIs of the most popular translation engines such as DeepL, Google Translate and Microsoft. You can test the translation quality in their online versions, for example https://www.deepl.com/translator . When using WPML you will get similar results. To translate automatically you need to use translation credits. You will get 90 000 credits when buying WPML (the CMS packge). If you need more credits, please check this site https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/ Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Hello,
no ACFML is included only in the CMS and Agency plans. In addition, the CMS package includes the WPML String Translation plugin which is often used along with ACF.
These are charged separately. You would need to get a quote from the one(s) you are interested in: https://wpml.org/translation-service/
These services offer human translations.
I have the following situation, and I need your advice on how to proceed.
Currently I have the agency package which includes websites of different clients. These are standard, without automatic translation.
Now, a new client wants to use automatic translations. So which solution is better:
1) I include the client into my current account type, and pay as you go only for his website (is this possible)?
2) The client uses a new account for pay as you go. He also needs to pay the standard 99$ for this yearly right? Not only the translated words.
Hello,
1) I include the client into my current account type, and pay as you go only for his website (is this possible)?
Yes, you (or your client) sign up for the pay-as-you-go option for a specific website. You do it from within the website.
You can also link sites to use the same pay-as-you-go “account” but this is a separate topic.
2) The client uses a new account for pay as you go. He also needs to pay the standard 99$ for this yearly right? Not only the translated words.
No, the client doesn’t need to have a sepaarte WPML account. You can register his site with your WPML.org account and ask him to provide his credit card for pay-as-you-go for their site. This is done from WPML > Translation Management > Automatic Translation screen
There is one more option: You can assign pre-paid credits to this site instead of using pay-as-you-go. This is done from within your wpml.org account.

Hello
I am planning to buy this plugin but can’t find spanish for Mexico.

page-1 and page-2 will represent the slug of your pages, which are created based on the page title. For example domain.com/en/how-to-cook
Now, if you already use WordPress Multisite and you have your subsites as directories, WPML directories will be added to the end of your current URLs, so you will have the following:
Site one:
https://translation-reviewers.otgs.work/agnes/
https://translation-reviewers.otgs.work/agnes/es/
https://translation-reviewers.otgs.work/agnes/it/
Site two:
https://translation-reviewers.otgs.work/agnieszka/
https://translation-reviewers.otgs.work/agnieszka/pl/
so you won’t accomplish what you need I’m afraid.

How can we purchase directly using Credit Card as i dont want to use PayPal for client?

Yes, you can use your credit card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.

Hello Kris,
you can turn off the WPML translation editor (for any page) and use the native WordPress editor instead. This way you can put anything you want (shortcodes included) into your translated page. This is explained here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/
If I buy the basic package and want to switch to the agency package, can I pay the difference and pass?
Yes, if you decide to upgrade from CMS to Agency you will pay only the difference between the two.
Hello, is WPML compatible with SiteGround Optimizer, specifically with cache? I’m currently testing translatepress and I get errors and some texts don’t translate when I have the cache on.

Feel free to purchase WPML and you will have 30 days to request a refund if it turns out that there are still some issues with SiteGround Optimizer.

hi, I´d like to know if the lifetime licence for multilingual agency is still available and if I can buy it. Thanks!
Hello,
thanks for checking but we no longer provide this option. You can cancel your WPML subscription at any time and still use the plugin.

Hi,
I have question about translation author base slug.
I need to put custom slug example. /user/ and want to translate in every language. Is it possible with your plugin?
Thanks.
Hello Peter,
In WordPress, the slugs for author archives are created automatically based on the user name. The archive by author is a collection of posts published by a specific user. If you translate your posts and you visit the archive by author in another language, the URLs will look like this:
https://wpml.org/author/allison-r/
https://wpml.org/es/author/allison-r/
or another user:
https://wpml.org/author/amit-k/
https://wpml.org/es/author/amit-k/
(Please note that in our case (examples above) you don’t see Spanish translations because we don’t translate all of our posts to other languages.)
Now, my understanding is that you want these URLs to be translated to something like this:
https://wpml.org/author/allison-r/
https://wpml.org/es/autor/allison-r/ (author = author in Spanish)
If so, this is possible, please check this page:
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/translating-slugs-for-custom-post-type-archives/#setting-a-translatable-slug
Hi Team,
I have few doubts regarding regarding page translation. How it works ? Can you please explain process in details ?
Is translated is 100% authentic? Is there any additional cost?
Would like understand in detail before making purchase.
