Yes, they will because WPML doesn’t have anything to do with the Google search – even if you use Google Translate as the translation engine (we connect to it through APIs) the translations are saved on their client’s website.
Hi
I need to do the following:
1. Translate my woocommerce shop from Spanish to English.
2. Change the translated products to USD currency.
3. Hide or prevent some products from being available in English.
4. Redirect automatically to the English version if the visitor lands in Spanish.
Can I make all this happen with WPML? And which package is the best choice?
Hello Eddier,
thank you for your interest in WPML.
The Multilingual CMS package is will fit well.
#1 and #2 (from your list) are supported if you install the WooCommerce Multilingual addon (available in the CMS package).
To achieve what you ask in #3, you cannot translate these products and then they won’t be available in Enlish. Please note that if you select the “Translate everything automatically” mode in WPML wizard and then “Translate all products automatically” in the wizard for products, all of your products will be automatically translated. That’s why the “Let me choose what to translate” mode (and “I’ll choose which products to translate”) might serve you better. You can consider the in-bulk feature for automatic translation instead. We don’t have exclude-products-from-automatical-translation per se.
#4 We provide an option to redirect the users to their language based on the language they have selected in the browser but this feature is disabled by default. Please read more about this option: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/automatic-redirect-based-on-browser-language/ Please note that as soon as your products are translated and indexed by google, you won’t need this option because your site will attract organic traffic directly from English clients.
I renewed my license but apparently for a single plugin, I have to take the $99 license. I find it expensive to use on one site for a year… do you do discount codes for renewal ?
Hello,
we don’t provide any discount codes I’m afraid. Some of our affiliate partners might have something but I don’t know who exactly. Renewals are optional so if you decide not to continue with updates for the next year you can cancel your subscription and still use WPML. But in this case, you won’t receive updates and our support help.
I’m being tasked with developing a custom wordpress site with some complex functionality that will bring together the content of about 3 custom post types onto a single “screen”.
In essence there will be a “Version” content type where the user adds a few details such as title, the language of this version (from a list of languages weve setup), its URL etc, and then Product content type (with details about a product (probably about 20 fields) that will need to be loaded based on the language selected via “version” (there will likely be about 20 products). Finally the culmination of this will be a question and answer-based system that asks questions (which are fixed, but need also be be in the language selected within the “language” dropdown.
My hopes were that each of the products, and the questions would be “posts” of a custom-content type, and that we should be able to translate each product/question with the languages setup in WPML (im assuming there’s a side-by-side editor or something)?
The system at the front-end, would not need a visual language selector, but instead the “version” loaded would instead just default to the language we’ve chosen within each post/version of the “Version” content type.
We would obviously need to set “languages” up – so that the available languages will be available as a drop-down selection within the post admin areas for the relevant post types…
I hope that makes sense….can you confirm whether this would be possible?
Hello Ben,
Thank you for your interest in WPML but what you are describing (thanks for the details!) is not possible with WPML because WPML generates a separate post (using a new URL) for each translation.
Hello Agnes
Thank you for your reply. So I bought the middle version but the “WPML Translation Management” plugin is activated in my wordpress. I looked everywhere how to synchronize the upgrade of my license but I don’t see anything. So this plugin is now disabled…

Hi there, I’m building a website to ship from China to the globe. Now trying to set up the UPS live trade and access point pro with an account from the sender in China, but I get this error: UPS Live Rates: Failure: The requested accessory option is unavailable between the selected locations. (111211) because the UPS account currency is in RMB.
My question when I buy this Plugin will my problems be resolved?
Will your plugin work with instanced content at our PC services pages?
We are having a lot of PC and Mac repair content, some of which is instanced within i frames.
Could you please take a look to see if it will work fine?
Hello,
where do these iframes come from? From a plugin? If so, what is its name? In general, iframes are problematic and yo might have issues with translating pages that include iframes. You won’t be able to see content coming from iframes in WPML’s translation editor. You will need to translate such pages manually (you cannot use automatic translations), please compare this forum thread: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/page-with-iframe-not-displaying-correctly-in-translated-page/
Hi, I have Colibri Pro WordPress theme, and this WPML changes the whole translated frontpage in little bit of mess. It is not working properly with it.
How do I get my money back?
Hello Katja,
I’m sorry to hear that you are having issues with WPML. I can see that you didn’t try to contact us to get some support assistance (we have live chats too). Would you like to give it one more try? https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
You have 2 more weeks to request a refund. But if you wish to request a refund now, please log into your WPML account and fill out the form on this page: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/
Hello Roland,
yes, you can cancel your WPML subscription at any time and after the first year you can still use WPML plugins but without updates and support assistance. To cancel your WPML subscription you need t log into your WPML account and you will find an option to do so.
Hi Elena,
No, I am afraid the CMS subscription (99USD) allows you to register up to 3 production sites.
Production are the sites as you’re going to publish them.
Development are the sites while you’re still working on them.

Hello, Am I dependant to your translation credits during auto translate feature? or am I able to select the translator provider (Google, etc.) and not purchase translation credits from WPML?
Thanks in advance
Hello Fenasi,
I am afraid you cannot use the translation engines accounts without connecting through WPML, even if you already have an account with them.
Good morning, I would need to translate in three languages a site made using Hello as theme and Elementor as page builder (WordPress version 6.1.1 – PHP version 8.1.14). As a plugin for adding custom fields I have been using ACF Pro, and although I have read that it is compatible with WPML (https://wpml.org/plugin/advanced-custom-fields/) I have found in some forums of users experiencing problems in translating fields made just with ACF. Have these incompatibility issues been resolved? If not, are there any steps to be taken for ACF and WPML to work properly on the same site?
Hello Elena,
We have just released a big update for ACF Multilingual (our glue plugin between WPML and ACF (Pro)): https://wpml.org/compatibility/2023/03/acfml-2-0-easy-multilingual-setup-and-translation/
You can buy WPML keeping our refund policy in mind that allows you to test it for 30 days. If you know how to create a copy of your website, you can test WPML on your copy first.
“Hello Fenasi,
I am afraid you cannot use the translation engines accounts without connecting through WPML, even if you already have an account with them.”
If I buy “Multilingual CMS” you give me 90000 credits (equal to 90000 words I guess) and give me the choice between couple tranlation providers (deepl, google, microsoft).
Hello,
90000 credits equal to 90000 words if you use the Microsoft translation engine. If you choose DeepL (which is the default) or Google Translate, 1 words = 1 credits, which is 45 000 words.
>Why not give me the option to enter google translate api credentials? To charge ridiculous prices?
To provide our users with the best results we process the output we are getting from these engines to handle links, formatting etc. We also provide Glosary features and use Translation Memory. That’s why in a nutshell.
Hi,
we actually use a basic blog plan for one of our sites. We would like to have another site on a basic blog plan. When I want a purchase another license, I only have the option to upgrade our actual plan to a CMS plan. But 2 x basic plan (39$) is less expensive than 1 CMS plan (99$). There is probably something I don’t understand…
Hello, If you don’t need the automatic (machine) translation, you can purchase the Blog package. Also, the Blog package doesn’t include the String Translation plugin which is useful to translate strings from themes and plugins.
hello, I will be creating my website soon in NYC for auto insurance brokerage I will be using themeforest themes is this compatible for you?
There is a lot of Chinese people here in NYC. So when Chinese people search “auto insurance” in Chinese character I want my website page to show Chinese. Is WPML “Multilingual Blog” plan the one I need? and is it going to help translate my website pages into Chinese and it will show in google search result? If yes, Once I buy this plan from you how do I install it?
Thank you for your interest in WPML.
Please note that with the “Blog” plan you cannot use automatic translations and you need to translate everything manually. Also, the Blog package doesn’t include the String Translations plugin which is useful for translating texts coming from your themes and plugins. Otherwise, you can buy this package because it allows you to translate your site to Chinese and your website will be visible in Google search results. Hello Veronica,
Thank you for your interest in WPML. I’m not sure what you mean by the free version because WPML has been a paid plugin for more than 10 years. Please share the link to your site or let me know what WPML plugins you have installed on your site and which versions. Thank you.
Hi,
My questions are:
1. will WPML recognise the visitors country by his IP or browser and automatically change site language?
2.Will be able to set additionally menu with user manual language choice?
3. Will WPML translate automatically emails from woocommerce like orders summary etc.
Since the Chinese buyer is not able to visit google.com, are they able to view and visit our Chinese translated site after we use auto translation?
Yes, they will because WPML doesn’t have anything to do with the Google search – even if you use Google Translate as the translation engine (we connect to it through APIs) the translations are saved on their client’s website.

Hello Damian,
1. By the browser.
2. The language switcher will display the languages that you have added. You can also hide some of the languages if you are not ready with translations for some.
3. WPML can translate WooCommerce emails too but you need to handle these through the String Translation screen: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/how-to-translate-woocommerce-emails/
