Hi, we have been charged for WPML and paid, our order status is still ON HOLD. It is now 5 days since we paid and still cannot access or download WPML to try it out.
Could someone please help? This is not a great experience to say the least.
Our Order number is: 14141339
Could someone just let us know what is going on? We’ve sent multiple emails/facebook messages, no response.
Please fill out this form with the details as you have written it here. The accounts team have the authorisations required to access your order and subscription details that we do not have as pre-sales.
1. You would create the post in one language. And then, depending on your translation mode, you create translations automatically or you can select which content you want to translate. WPML CMS will create the translations from the translation edito in the background. You can always modify the translations or the original posts using the WordPress editor as well.
But, as a general response to your question: you or our plugin will create a post in every active language that you install and this will be the content that is seen on the frontend by your site visitors.
2. There are many themes that have RTL support. I think you should first find some themes that you are interested in working with and that are compatible with our plugins, and then contact the theme support directly to ask about RTL support. Here is a list of themes that work well with WPML CMS to get you started:
Hello Nicki,
I am afraid we don’t have free versions of WPML but you’re welcome to try it for 30 days and see if it suits your needs. We will issue you a refund if it doesn’t https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/
I am a plugin provider, and I have lots of customers asking to make our stuff fully compatible with WPML. Do you offer a developer license so that I can get access to your plugin for dev purposes only?
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Our plugin does not “index on google”. Indexing on google is done by Google as it crawls your site.
However, WPML CMS will add “hreglang” tags in all of your wordpress pages. The hreflang attribute tells Google about available translations for a given page or post. When used correctly, it can dramatically improve search engine positioning, because Google will understand which translation to display for people in different places. In this way it “assists” in the indexing of your site
Additionally, oOur works with other SEO Plugins like Yoast SEO to optimize your site for search engines in different languages, increase traffic, improve user experience, and boost sales.
Please review the information here: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-seo/
We are ready to purchase the plugin, before that can you answer some of the questions?
1. Does this plugin includes multisite support as our WordPress site is multisite?
2. In your plan you have mentioned about the 180,000 translation credits. Can you please elaborate in detail what does this mean?
3. The translation credits you mentioned in the Multilingual Agency plan for a single site or multisite, please elaborate on this as well.
Hi,
I am building a multilingual (English, Hungarian, Romanian, French) website in Divi Builder. It will work with Webnus Modern Event Calendar PRO, WooCommerce webshop and we need a newsletter plugin as well. Can the WPML work together all of these plugins? Which newsletter plugin is compatible with WPML?
Please check if these plugins appear on our list of tested compatible plugins here: https://wpml.org/plugin/
If the plugins do not appear on the list, it does not mean that it will not work but that it has not been tested as compatible by our team. It may work without any issues but we don’t have any additional information to offer you on this matter.
The best way to know if your proposed site configuration is to try it out on a test site. WPML CMS has a 30 day 100% refund guarantee. Some clients will buy the subscription for testing purposes and apply for the refund if things don’t work out as expected. This is particularly important if you are not sure all of your plugins are going to work well with each other and with WPML.
If this is not something that you want to do, your other option is to work through the plugin providers and ask them to join the GoGlobal Program where they will receive support from our support and development teams to test and make their plugins work with WPML.
More here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/
You also asked: “Which newsletter plugin is compatible with WPML?”
Theh same link I offered will allow you to explore the various plugins that we have tested and recommend for multilingual sites.
I used to have an agency that was taking care of my website and they had installed a WPML plugin ( WPML Media, WPML Multilingual CMS, WPML String Translation).
Now I have a ” You are using an unregistered version of WPML and are not receiving compatibility and security updates” notification next to the WPML plugin and I want to know if I am going to buy the “Multilingual CMS” plan for 99$, am I going to lose how the plugin is set up on my website?
You asked: “if I am going to buy the “Multilingual CMS” plan for 99$, am I going to lose how the plugin is set up on my website?”
You will not lose any settings or translations that were previously done on your website. However, if you are still in touch with the agency, you may want to get the agency to transfer the renewal costs to you as per this article so that you don’t pay for a full new license:
More details here: https://wpml.org/purchase/transferring-account-renewals-to-your-clients/
If you are no longer in touch with the agency, perhaps you might write to our accounts management team to understand your best options for license transfer/renewal or purchase.
Please contact them using this form: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/
Please let them know if your site used the Advanced Translation Editor or Automatic Translations so that they can check that your site’s glossaries/dictionaries remain intact for your site URL.
I have a Multilingual CMS license (3 production sites) and I need to upgrade my license to host another 2 sites.
Can I buy a new Multilingual CMS license without buying the Agency license?
Hello Simone,
You can upgrade your existing account to the Agency version, or buy a new CMS subscription with a new account (using a different email address from the one registered with us)
I am currently using Polylang. What frustrates me is that I have more than 20 languages configured which result into a very cluttered and chaotic overview of posts and pages due to every language being in a seperate column. Does WPML has a different approach to present all language variants of a certain page or post within the WordPress CMS? Thank you.
This format is similar for the Pages > All Pages (or other custom post types) views but this can be toggled off via the WordPress screen options. In this case, one would see the page listing for the active administrative language and would use the backend language switcher to switch to other language spaces to view the page listings in those other languages.
WPML is compatible with all of the websites you own and those you create for customers. With the lifetime option, you can continue receiving our support and account improvements without having to renew your subscription.
Hi!
I am afraid we stopped selling lifetime subscriptions back in 2018.
If you need to register more than 3 sites, you will need the Agency version, which allows unlimited sites. It has a yearly renewal fee required to keep updates and support.
Hi,
I need to translate a website. Can the Multilingual Blog with Standard translation controls handle this, or do I need the Multilingual CMS? It’s a small website (5 pages), and I already have the translations. Could you show me a tutorial/example?
Hello Andre,
If the website only has pages to translate and not other elements, like an e-store, the Blog version should be enough.
In any case, if you need it, you can then upgrade to CMS for the difference.
You can see a demo here https://wpml.org/
Now my WPML is expired. I’m still considering whether will renew it or not.
Here’s 1 problem I want to solve 1st.
I’ve noticed that after uploading an image to WordPress and adding it to a WordPress gallery, there are three identical copies of the same image.
I guess the problem is caused by WPML Media Translation plug in. I dun need to translate media (images) on my site anymore. So I delete WPML Media Translation plug in.
Even if I renew WPML, I wont need WPML Media Translation anymore.
Pls tell me how can I remove the extra two copies of every image in my gallery.
Hello,
the WPML Media Translation plugin is no longer mandatory to translate the images (e.g. alternative attributes (alts) and titles). You only need this plugin if you want to provide a different image for your translation (with a different graphic). However, WPML still creates a duplicate of your image in the media library (not to be confused with a physical copy of your image which remains only one). Here, in pre-sales section, I cannot answer your question how you can remove the extra copies of your images on your specific site without losing the images for your translated content. The best would be to consult this case with our official technical support. To do so, you need to have an active WPML subscription. Here’s what you can do: please renew you WPML subscription, use our support forum to discuss your specific case. It it turns out that you are not completely happy with the solution provided, you can use our 30-day refund policy and we will refund your order.
Hello Claudio,
that’s exactly how our upgrading works. Our system will calculate the difference accordingly. Simply log into your WPML account and click on the upgrade button/link. In case of further questions, don’t hesitate to get back to use. You can also contact us directly through this form: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/
Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to Translate certain terms/phrases automatically. For example I have an Outfit of the day section, on which every page’s heading is “Outfit of the day”. Would it be possible to set the right translation for this term and your plugin would do that automatically?
I hope the question makes sense and you understand what I mean 🙂 If not please let me know!
Hello Julian,
WPML allows you to translate individual pages, posts or templates automatically (as opposed to translating the entire site, which is also possible). I believe that the “Outfit of the day” heading you are mentioning comes from a template, meaning if you want to edit it, you do it only once, in one place and your update will affect all of the occurrences of this text on your site. Is this correct? If so, you would need to translate that “thing” where this text was originally placed into. My guess is it’s a template, maybe an Elementor template? If it’s an Elementor template, yes, WPML allows you to translate Elementor templates both manually and automatically. If this text appears only once for editing, you can even translate it manually because in that case you need to do it just once (or many as many times as the number of languages you want your site to be available in).
For our website we’re thinking between building separate pages per language or using a plugin like yours on the same page.
The reason being is that depending on the language, some elements need to be slightly altered.
For example, for language in Dutch we need to show our testimonials form Dutch clients; whilst for our French page we need testimonials from our French customers.
With your plugin, is there a way to select that specific sections only become available for a certain languages?
Hello Frederic,
thank you for you interest in WPML. In general, it is possible to display pages with diffrent content and layouts for different languages but the details depend on how your page with testimonials has been built. There are many ways to implement testimonials (using custom post types, using Elementor, using theme features, using blocks). I don’t know much how these are handled and stored on your specific site. You would need to provide me with more details.
Hello,
The Agency subscription (199$) includes 180,000 credits for automatic translation. It has a yearly renewal fee, not monthly. This fee gives you updates for WPML files and access to technical support.

I want my money back… I don’t like any website deducting directly from my account before prior notice… I feel like cheated… Please return my money you just deducted.
Of course. Please kindly log into your WPML account and fill out the refund form from this page: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/ and we will issue you the refund.

Thanks for the response , I have 2 queries –
1) do I need to add the post or product in both English and Arabic every time I add it?

Hello Akshay
1. WPML will work on multilsite networks.
More information can be found here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/multisite-support/languages-in-domains-for-wordpress-multisite-mode/
2. Credits are interpreted differently depending on the automatic machine language engine you select. On first signup, an Agency subscription receives 180K free credits.
Please read more about this here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/#is-automatic-translation-expensive
https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/#choosing-a-translation-engine
3. Translation credits are awarded per subscription and divided amongst site URLs registered to that subscription account. In this respect, your Agency plan would receive 180K credits to be divided between the various site URLs you manage/own.

Hello Peter
I am not familiar with Polylang’s dashboard/screens. We have a similar approacch on our Translation Management dashboards which displays a column for each language with a translation status for each post type .
Please see this image: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/#how-to-check-the-status-of-translation-jobs

i want to purchase wpml plugin, is there any ability to purchase for one time payment ?

Hello,
If you don’t want to renew the WPML plugin every year, you can disable annual renewals directly in your WPML account. Please purchase WPML and as soon as you get access to your WPML account follow these steps: https://wpml.org/purchase/wpml-renewal/#switch-to-manual

I was trying to purchase the plugin but on the payments page I only see the option to pay via Paypal. Kindly suggest how can I pay through a credit card.?
Yes, you can use your credit card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.
I need to know whether WPML Multilingual CMS is a one-time purchase, and what exactly does the “license” entails. Thanks
Hello,
It’s a subscription with yearly auto-renewals which you can cancel at any time with a few clicks and still use the plugin. You can also switch to manual renewals: https://wpml.org/purchase/wpml-renewal/#switch-to-manual and this way make sure the next payments are fully under your control.
If it supports Full Site Editing with Gutenberg blocks?

Hello Mercedes,
Thanks for the reply. Got it. It works with Post/Page Editor. But if it does with Template Editor (Appearance -> Editor) too? Can I translate, for example, FrontPage template or Archive one?
Hello Constantine,
yes, WPML supports translating the Template Editor too, please check out this documentation page:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-content-created-using-gutenberg-editor/translating-sites-that-use-full-site-editing/
The page doesn’t cover archives. Could you please summarise what kind of archives you have and what would you like to translate there? Or maybe you can share the link to your site? If possible you can also let us know what theme you use.
We want to make the first payment on our end
and then have my customer make the annual renewal payment.
how do I do that?
Hello,
basically you have two options:
1. Change the payment method on your WPML account (for example to provide a diffrent card): https://wpml.org/purchase/how-to-change-your-payment-method/
2. You can also consider transferring the renewals to your client. Please read more about it here: https://wpml.org/purchase/transferring-account-renewals-to-your-clients/
