I am currently planning to use WPML on a multisite WordPress installation and have a few questions I would appreciate your help with:
1. Multisite Licensing: How is the pricing structured if WPML is installed on a multisite setup with 5 separate sites? Does each site require a separate license or is there a multisite-specific plan?
2. AI Translation Engine: Which version of ChatGPT (or other AI model) is currently used for WPML’s automatic translations?
3. ACF PRO Integration: Will custom fields created with the ACF PRO plugin be translated automatically when using WPML’s AI translation?
4. One Language as Source: Is it possible to use one primary language as the source and automatically translate all pages into two additional languages in bulk?
5. Cost Estimation: Is there a way to estimate the cost of translating all existing pages before starting the translation process?
Thank you in advance for your support. Looking forward to your response.
1. Multisite Licensing: How is the pricing structured if WPML is installed on a multisite setup with 5 separate sites? Does each site require a separate license or is there a multisite-specific plan?
Answer: In a WordPress multisite setup with WPML, you typically register the WPML site key on the main site, and that key applies to all subsites. You don’t need a separate key for each subsite. Once you’ve registered on the main site, activating and configuring WPML on your subsites will automatically link them to the same key.
4. One Language as Source: Is it possible to use one primary language as the source and automatically translate all pages into two additional languages in bulk?
Hello, we are a company based in China and are interested in purchasing the WPML plugin. However, we encounter an “invalid ZIP code” error during checkout when entering a valid Chinese postal code.
Could you please advise on how to correctly input the postal code to proceed with the purchase?
Thank you for your help.
What FSE themes are recommended/compatible to use with WPML?
Looking at your recommended themes page (https://wpml.org/theme/) I can’t tell if any are FSE.
Can you suggest a few FSE themes? Is Spectra One supported?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Hello, When purchasing WPML I got a message that I can invite the customer to take over renewals. Apparently the customer only had to pay €39 instead of €74 per year. Where can I find the link so my customer can pay it? Thank you in advance for your reply.
we purchased WPML once and we refunded because of our website owner request. now based on his recent request we purchased WPML again. I want to know whether we can refund this new purchase again during first month in case we had to refund again based on change in website owner decision or not again.
I am checking the plugin requirements and contacted my hosting provider to increase the memory to 256M. In WordPress Health checker the php_limits has changed, but WP_MEMORY_LIMIT doesn’t change and stays at 40M.
These are the other two values I have now:
PHP memory limit 256M
WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT 256M
The Hosting provider responds that the server can handle the 256M memory requirement, but why the WordPress health checker value doesn’t change to 256M (they added this to config.php: define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’ );).
Should I investigate further or is it okay to have the WP_MEMORY_LIMIT at 40M ?
The WP_MEMORY_LIMIT is set within your wp-config.php file. It is a WordPress configuration setting as opposed to your php Sever settings.
Here is how you can do this with a file manager plugin or cPanel:
I run a multilingual online shop in three languages using WooCommerce and WPML. However, the Woo Bundled Products plugin does not function correctly in the two translated languages (it used to work fine before).
Here is a summary of the issue:
– When customers add a translated bundled product to the cart, the contents are displayed correctly.
– However, when proceeding to checkout, the details of the bundled products disappear. The correct product appears briefly (for about 0.5–1 second), then reverts to displaying only the parent product (the bundle).
– When customers try to return to the cart, an error occurs and the original cart settings are lost.
– This issue occurs only in the translated languages (English and Japanese). The default language (e.g., French) works fine.
– It may be related to child product synchronization or compatibility with Elementor templates.
I’ve already contacted WooCommerce support, and they advised me to check with both WPML and Elementor.
This is definitely a question/issue to take up with our Support Forum. In pre-sales I don’t have the necessary tools and most-recent compatibility knowledge to inform you properly.
Please open a Support Ticket
Log into your WPML account.

If a support agent is available for live chat when you submit your issue, you’ll be connected with a technical expert in real time. Otherwise, your request will be converted into a support ticket and handled promptly—usually within a few hours. You’ll receive an email notification once our support team responds.
A few days ago I recieved all the passwords to access to my new webpage made in Bethem, WordPress and WPML. This time, the anual service of WPML has been paid by the webmaster, I’m wondering if I can change the bank account or credit card now in order to have already automatized the next year payment from my bank account?
I must pay for our annual licence fee, however my company won’t allow payments via PayPal or Credit Card. Is it possible to pay you via BACS? Thank you.
Thank you for your reply.
I understand. I’ll ask my question through a ticket.
However, how can I create an account?
It seems I can only log in, and I’m having trouble with that.
I look forward to your reply.
You should have received an account login and password when you purchased the initial subscription. If you were given the site from an agency then they should transfer the subscription to you so that you as per this link: https://wpml.org/purchase/transferring-account-renewals-to-your-clients/
If you need help trying to determine how to get your account information – please contact our accounts team here providing them the name of your site that is running WPML. https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/
We’re about to purchase the plugin and I had two questions:
Is it possible to translate specific sections of the site? For example, we’d like to translate the service pages but exclude the blog. We previously used another plugin that automatically translated everything, and there was no way to prevent that.
Is it possible to edit a translation? For instance, if we wanted to manually translate an important page into English or Portuguese, could we rewrite the default automatic translation?
If for any reason we choose later on to cancel our subscription, will the site keep the already translated text or will it disappear with the subscription?
My company has a survey that we send to many partners/clients that I’d like to have translation options for (specifically spanish at this time). No other pages need translation. In fact, I would like the ability to disable translation everywhere else on the site except on those specific pages.
Each partner has a unique code as a parameter in the URL (/page/?client=10) and the content is 98% the same between the client-specific pages.
Can the base page be translated (/page/) and will the translations trickle down to every client-specific page (/page/?client=10), or will each client page need to be translated individually?

I’m not too clear what you mean about the base page “trickling down” to sub-pages. In WordPress all pages (parent or child) are separate post types with their own content and meta data. However, if you use a page-builder plugin like Elementor, WP Bakery, Divi Builder, …(there are really so many available now) then you could do the following approach.
– Put all the “common” page content into a builder layout/template.
– This common section is included in a client specific pages with a shortcode,
– You would then translate the layout/template once with WPML.
– The client specific part then gets translated separately with WPML (i.e. you don’t have to translate the common part over and over again)
What the client sees is a page made up of a common “template/section” + “personalised section”.

Hello there team.
Do you offer a trial or demo for one of the paid versions?
Also, do you offer discounts for non-profit organizations/websites?
Thanks in advance.
Do you offer a trial or demo for one of the paid versions?
We do not offer any kind of trial or demo. However, we do offer a 30-day uncontested refund if you find the product is not meeting your requirements/needs.
More here: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/

I’m interested in purchasing your plugin, but before proceeding, I have a few questions:
1. My WordPress e-commerce site requires customizing the category and product pages. Does your plugin support custom code or provide hooks that can assist with this?
2. I plan to translate my site and products into four languages, with approximately 500+ SKUs. Can your plugin handle this volume of data?
3. I need to implement multiple currencies based on country/language, ensuring the currency changes throughout the checkout process. Does your plugin support setting prices per language/country, or does it rely on automatic currency conversion? Could you clarify how this works?
I’m considering your $99 package. Will it cover all these features, or would I need any additional plugins or add-ons to achieve this?

I would be mistaken to answer your question without knowing more about your products, other plugins, server sizing and setting…etc. Each installation is different. I can say that we have large multilingual clients with similar volumes as yours. Please read about our recent performance improvements targeting installations such as yours. https://wpml.org/changelog/2025/03/wpml-4-7-2-and-wcml-5-4-2-better-performance-for-woocommerce-sites/
My sincere advice would be to purchase the product knowing that you have 30 days to evaluate and return it for a refund should it not meet your expectations/needs. Before purchasing, consider how you will design a meaningful dataset to max-out the performance requirements. Variable products with many attributes and languages usually requires the most resources. Include complete transactions from product search to ouput (invoice, emails) generation. Engage our support staff to help you test the site and then decide if the solution is best for you or not.

AI-powered translation engines such as DeepL and Google are already integrated with WPML. They work out of the box once your site has the WPML plugin installed and translation credits assigned.
To use these engines, you’ll need either the CMS or Agency type of WPML account, which also includes translation credits. There is no need to enter any API keys.
Additionally, WPML offers its own AI-based translation engine (called WPML AI), which leverages technologies like ChatGPT and similar models. You can find a list of supported languages here: https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs https://ate.wpml.org/wpml_ai
Once WPML is set up and your languages are added, you can start translating your pages automatically—either individually or in bulk. For more information, please refer to this page: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/
I am unable to set up automatic translation of pages using WPML AI. When I select the necessary pages for translation, the translation process starts, but I only see the status “in progress” (screenshot: https://gyazo.com/9b17e6ab3d77e3cb1a1e5ddb57696c51). This status does not change over time, and the translation never completes.
It is critically important for me to set up automatic translation. Please send me a detailed written or video instruction on how I can translate pages into other languages.
If I am unable to resolve this issue, I will have to request a refund.
Hello Vitali,
I am sorry for this. I am not a technical supporter and cannot assist you from here with your issue. Please log in to your account and start a new ticket in the forum. One of our technical supporters will be able to assist you. https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
I want to fully and permanently delete my account, but I can nowhere find the option to do so. I can’t open tickets because it says I need an active subscription and I can’t make forum posts either. I also don’t see a support mail somewhere. Bad stuff. Please cancel my account!!
To cancel the subscription please go to your WPML account.
You will see the subscription details on the left and the word Modify next to it. Click on it and you will find the option to cancel your subscription.
Hello, I have created a website for an association. This association works to protect vulnerable and homeless street animals and does not have a lot of money. They need translation services to reach more people through their website. Do you offer special discounts for non-profit organizations? Because they really don’t have the budget for this job.
As a non-profit, you can apply for a discount on the plugin subscription but I don’t think there is any kind of discount on the actual translation pricing. You may apply for the discount and inquire here: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/

5. Cost Estimation: Is there a way to estimate the cost of translating all existing pages before starting the translation process?
Thank you in advance for your support. Looking forward to your response.
Hello
Answer: In a WordPress multisite setup with WPML, you typically register the WPML site key on the main site, and that key applies to all subsites. You don’t need a separate key for each subsite. Once you’ve registered on the main site, activating and configuring WPML on your subsites will automatically link them to the same key.
More info here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/multisite-support/#registering-wpml-on-multisite
Answer: We offer the API versions of the following engines: Deepl, Azure, Google and our own AI version which is a compbination of ChatGPT with other tools. I’m sorry but the actual version releases of each is not information that I have on hand.
More info here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/how-to-change-automatic-translation-engines/
https://wpml.org/tutorials/2025/05/using-chatgpt-to-translate-wordpress/
If the ACF fields are configured to use WPML, then they should be picked up by the translation system. Please read more about this here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/
Answer: Yes. For “translate everything immediately” mode, the single source language must be the site default language.
More here: https://wpml.org/es/changelog/2021/10/wpml-4-5-translate-all-of-your-sites-content-with-one-click
However, if you are using the Translations Management Dashboard to kick off your translations, you can choose any of your installed languages as the source langauge in the filter bar. See image here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/#choose-what-to-translate
Answer: Yes. If you are using the Translation Dashboard to kick off your translations, you can see an estimate there. Here is more information on this: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/#see-an-overview-and-volume-estimate
I hope this information addresses your questions

To my knowledge, each new purchase comes with it’s own 30day refund offer. E.g. the 30-day refund is “per purchase order”, not “per account”.
I hope this answers your question.

Hello,
Is there a lifetime license available for WPML? If so, what is the estimated price?
Also, does WPML allow manual editing of page/post translations? And is it possible to edit the translated names of website menu items as well?
Thank you.
Hello
Answer: No, this is not available. It was once offered over 10 years ago and has not been offered again.
Answer: Yes! You can change the type of editor you are using. This is described in this article: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/#how-to-get-different-designs-for-different-translations
Answer: Yes. The menu item labels would be translated using String Translation or…you can also manually edit the translated labels via the WordPress dashboard.

Hello
Yes. If you use the mode “Translate what you choose” instead of “Translate everything immediately”, you can select what should be translated to which languages via the Translation Management Dashboard.
More here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/#choose-what-to-translate
Yes, you can always change the translated page/post directly using the WordPress editor. The only caveat is that you should thereafter keep the editor mode to “WordPress” for that page so that you don’t overwrite any changes you make inadvertently with the Advanced Translation Editor which can pull in automatic translation.
Example here:

Kind regards
If for any reason we choose later on to cancel our subscription, will the site keep the already translated text or will it disappear with the subscription?

Thank you Yvette
I’ll write to the forum you gave me to get my information.

Hello
With the Translation Management Dashboard, you are able to select the site content that you want to translate. Please take a look here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/#choose-what-to-translate
I’m not too clear what you mean about the base page “trickling down” to sub-pages. In WordPress all pages (parent or child) are separate post types with their own content and meta data. Regardless of how you actually implement the page content for clients, if you already have setup a naming scheme that uses URL parameters, it is possible to preserve URL arguments when switching languages by specifying which arguments to retain in WPML’s language switcher options.
More here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/preserve-url-arguments-when-switching-languages/

Hello WPML Support,
Could you please send me a detailed guide on setting up and using AI-powered automatic page translation with WPML? I’m particularly interested in:
Connecting and configuring AI engines (e.g., DeepL, Google Translate)
Obtaining and entering API keys
Automating the translation workflow for new or updated pages
Thank you in advance for your help!
Hello Vitaly,
AI-powered translation engines such as DeepL and Google are already integrated with WPML. They work out of the box once your site has the WPML plugin installed and translation credits assigned.
To use these engines, you’ll need either the CMS or Agency type of WPML account, which also includes translation credits. There is no need to enter any API keys.

Hello,
I am unable to set up automatic translation of pages using WPML AI.
Thank you for your assistance.
Hello Vitali,
I am sorry for this. I am not a technical supporter and cannot assist you from here with your issue. Please log in to your account and start a new ticket in the forum. One of our technical supporters will be able to assist you.

I want to fully and permanently delete my account, but I can nowhere find the option to do so. I can’t open tickets because it says I need an active subscription and I can’t make forum posts either. I also don’t see a support mail somewhere. Bad stuff. Please cancel my account!!
Hello
To cancel the subscription please go to your WPML account.
You will see the subscription details on the left and the word Modify next to it. Click on it and you will find the option to cancel your subscription.

Hello, I have created a website for an association. This association works to protect vulnerable and homeless street animals and does not have a lot of money. They need translation services to reach more people through their website. Do you offer special discounts for non-profit organizations? Because they really don’t have the budget for this job.
Hello
As a non-profit, you can apply for a discount on the plugin subscription but I don’t think there is any kind of discount on the actual translation pricing. You may apply for the discount and inquire here:
