Hi PreSales,
I am a website designer and recently took over a website that needs to be multilingual. The previous developer already bought wpml. However as I understood from your video regarding visual composer I need to install an additional plugin: wpml string translation.
The following plugins are already installed: wpml cms nav, wpml multilingual cms, wpml translation management.
How can I obtain wpml string management?
kind regards
Hello,
if your WPML site is registered, please do the following:
In your WordPress admin:
1. Go to Plugins -> Add New
2. Choose the Commercial tab
3. Locate the String management plugin and install it.
If your WPML site is not registered, please ask your previous developer to register it. If you are no longer in touch with this developer you would need to buy WPML on your behalf since only the person who purchased WPML can register it.
I’m trying to buy the lifetime module. I’m Italian and I’ve a italian VAT number enrolles to VIES. But when I arrive to the payment you are applying the VAT 22%, but you should not.
Hello Daniele, could you please send us your VAT number and we will check your case? If you don’t want to share your VAT number here in comments, please use this form:
Hello Stanislav,
yes, you can. In your WPML account you will have an option to upgrade to the Lifetime for $116. Yes, can use WPML for many sites. You need to buy only one subscription and you can use it to build sites for yourself and you customers.

I have been asked if WPML is capable of working for “high volume” or “large” websites. Would it be possible to provide a few references of such sites that are using WPML?
Similarly, do you have any references for high profile sites that use WPML? In business, government or media would be ideal.
Thank you (and direct replies to my email address are fine),

Hello Dan,
One of a large website I can recall now is this one: http://www.mcgillimmobilier.com/ (it uses English and French).
A site’s performance depends on many factors, especially if a website includes a list of diffrent extensions.
Hi Bernardo,
once you buy a WPML subscription, you get access to the Download section. You can download and install each of the WPML plugins many times and you don’t need to pay each time again. Our licensing system allows you to use WPML for many sites.
I was in the process of building a lifestyle blog from an Indian perspective. I needed a multilingual website with a default language of English, with an option in Malayalam. Do you support this regional language? If yes, what is the process of translation?
Hello,
you can configure WPML to handle diffrent Indian languages but WPML doesn’t automatically translate your content. WPML integrates with professional translation services. https://wpml.org/documentation/content-translation/
If you are interested in using of these you would need to check which one trasnlate to Malayalam
Hi,
I want to use WPML Plugin for the site – http://mailcot.com/. May i know the process of translation is manual or automatic. For Example this is a page – http://mailcot.com/services/promotional-email/.
And I also wants to make it available for French. So, it the translation procedure is manual or automatic. Like I do not want to manual translate. My Requirements to Select all the pages and let it be happen automatically.
So, is it possible without doing any manually steps.??
Hi there.
I am pretty sure this question has been asked a lot of times before… 😉
We want to use WPML for a specific website right now and maybe some more later on. Right now we are using a theme that is not in your list of compatible items.
Is there a way to verify it works with the used theme? Is there a free version to check out?
And can we start with the blog version and upgrade even to the lifetime CMS version later?
How would that work? Are there any timewise restrictions?
Best regards.
Thomas Nitschinger
To test WPML with your theme, you need to buy it and test yourself. You will have 30 days to do so. If it turns out that it doesn’t work as you would expect, just fill out this form and we will refund your order promptly.
Please note that during that probation period you have full access to our support forum.
Yes, you can get started with a cheaper version (Blog for example) and later on (no time limitation) upgrade to the CMS one or to the Lifetime for the difference in purchase price.
I purchased Multilingual CMS plan, 4/4/2017 But still I have not received any download link in my mail box
Can you please tell me how long will take I am receiving my login details and download link
Hello, I can see you order has completed correctly. Did you check your spam folder? If you still cannot find that email please reset your password using this link: https://wpml.org/account/lost-my-password/
You can buy from you bank account directly. You should select PayPal as the payment processor and you can buy with PayPal echeques
but please the transaction will take a few days. If you need details, please use this form and my colleague Mercedes will explain the details: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/
I know hat this is asked and answered probably too many times but I want to ask again and I will appreciate a lot if you can confirm this to me.
So I am building at this moment 5 websites for clients. There will be probably few more very soon. I am planning to buy WPML CMS product.
So I am paying once that $79 (for first year) and while I am renewing my account ALL clients websites will have legal and functional copy of plugin with upgrades and everything? They don’t need to bother about anything regarding licenses etc, even if I am not in contact with them, or other people administrate, upgrade and working on their website as long as I am renewing my subscription with you?
Can you please let me know very clear about at this and I am about ready to purchase very soon

Hello,
I have already purchased WPML last week, but it did not work well with Godaddy Managed WP so I just upgraded to Godaddy cPanel. My website name or URL has not changed, how can I use the WPML plugin that I already purchased on the upgraded version of my website?
WPML should continue working in that case. If it doesn’t, please register a ticket on our support forum so our supporters can have a look: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/ Please provide as many details as possible: if WPML is already installed, which version, if case of errors, what messages you can see, what exactly is not working.
1. Yes
2. Yes
Please check the list of required plugins https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/#required-plugins
3. Yes, providing your theme/plugin has those strings coded correctly using the so called gettext functions, so the strings can be automatically detected. If your plugin/theme has been coded according to WordPress standards those should work fine.
4. Yes.
5. It depends on how the logo was implemented in your theme.
6. Yes.
7. Only some. Please check the following list. These are plugins tested by our Compatibility Team. Other plugins might work but we didn’t test them. https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/
Hi,
I renewed my license last year on 22nd April 2016. However, I can also see another charge on 5th June 2016 for the same item.
Did I make a mistake then by renewing something that was still valid?
I would appreciate if you could kindly review my account and let me know, please.
Hello,
indeed I can see two orders from April 2016 with your email address and it looks odd. Let me consult this with our admins. I will keep you posted.
you have a Multilingual CMS subscription active until April 24, 2019.
Your purchase history shows the following:
1- in 2015/04/25 you bought WPML for the first time (the Multilingual CMS yearly subscription)
2- in 2016/04/22 you renewed this subscription
3- more or less two months later, 2016/06/05 there is a new renewal of the current subscription
4- finally in 2017/04/08 you renewed once again.
Our renewal process works like this:
* a renewal link is displayed on the user account, 30 days before his current subscription is about to expire
* once the renewal is bough the expiration date for the subscription is incremented for one more year
To sum up, although you didn’t stick to date for renewing the subscription you have now is a valid subscription until April 24, 2019 which is correct taking into account he number of renewals you acquired. I hope it helps.
I want to purchase WPML for life time version does it include the following module: WooCommerce + woo-commerce multilingual +WPML Translation Management + WPML String Translation + WPML Media + wpml-sticky-links + wpml-all-import + woocommerce-gateways-country-limiter + multilingual-tools + icl-migration + gravityforms-multilingual ??
Good morning,
yes, the Lifetime subscription includes all WPML plugins we have ever released.
1. WooCommerce – you download it from the WP repository
2. woo-commerce multilingual – you can download it from the WP repository https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-multilingual/ or from your WPML account.
3. WPML Translation Management, WPML String Translation, WPML Media, wpml-sticky-links, wpml-all-import, woocommerce-gateways-country-limiter – you will find these in your WPML account
4. +multilingual-tools, + icl-migration – I cannot see the two in our WPML account. Could you please provide me with more info about those?
5. gravityforms-multilingual – Gravity Forms Multilingual, yes, included in your Lifetime package
Hi
when you say your WPML account and Lifetime package
is it the same?
When I purchase the WPML lifetime package are the modules mentioned above included??
Regards
Yes, I mean the same (sorry for not making it clear). So, all WPML plugins we have developed are included both in the CMS and the Lifetime subscriptions. The only difference between the two is that the CMS one expires after the first year.
Can i use the same slug for a post/page in multi language. For example, i have a page contact us with slug contact-us having url mysite.com/en/contact-us in English, can i have the same page in Arabic with slug contact-us so that i have the same url mysite.com/ar/contact-us.
To translate pages build with a builder (e.g. VisualComposer) do I need to buy the CMS version or the simole blog version of wpml ?
Couldn’t figure it out, thx for your help.
Yes, the CMS version is required in that case since it includes the string Translation, Translation Management and Media translation add-ons which are needed to build multilingual pages with VisualComposer. https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/visual-composer/
for a multi lingual customer of mine I need to be able to have some pages appear only in some countries. e.G. there are holidays in just one country and we have a sale there. The shop is outside of this scope, but the page that talks about the page is useless in other countries. So it needs not to appear in sitemaps, navigation, etc. Is that possible with WPML?
Hello Angelo,
Yes, this is possible to achieve with WPML. You can leave some of your pages without translations. You simply don’t create these pages in a given language.
Hello,
I have simple website made on Pinnacle theme (under construction)
There is only : home site, about site, portfolio site, blog site , simple contact form site( based on plug Contact Form 7)
I think that for this moment enoug option is “Multilingual Blog version of WPML -29 $ ) – am I right?
Later I will make other website where probbably will be shop (made on WooCommerce plugin) So I have a question if it is possible to upgrade from version “Multilingual Blog” to ” Multilingual CMS” ? If I can upgrade , can I do it at any time or have to wait to end of 1 year. ?
Kind regards
Marta
yes, you can start with the “Multilingual Blog” subscription and upgrade to the ” Multilingual CMS” (or Lifetme) later. Upgrading is easy, you simply log into your WPML account and you will find relevant options there.
All WPML subscription plans include the same main WPML plugin. So, if it turns out that you need some extra add-ons that are included only in the Multilingual CMS/Lifetime, you don’t need to change anything in your current site, you just need to install extra plugins.
and according to it, you might need the WPML String Translation plugin, which is included only in the Multilingual Blog/Lifetime version.
Also, to create a multilingual store you will need the Multilingual Blog/Lifetime subscription. But you can start with the Blog one and upgrade later for the difference in purchase price.
Hi Fernando, WPML has a feature (you need to enable it in WPML settings) to redirect a user to a language version based the user’s language set in his/her browser. So first you would need to use WPML to set up a few languages in your websites, for each of these languages you wound need at have at least one page (homepage) and turn on this redirection.
We are handling support request in the FIFO order (first in, first out) and don’t provide any premium/urgent support option but maybe you would be interested in contacting one of our contractors?

Hi Goce,
yes to all of your questions. So:
“So I am paying once that $79 (for first year) and while I am renewing my account ALL clients websites will have legal and functional copy of plugin with upgrades and everything? ” Yes.
“They don’t need to bother about anything regarding licenses etc, even if I am not in contact with them, or other people administrate, upgrade and working on their website as long as I am renewing my subscription with you?” Yes.
And as long as their sites are registered (you can register them in your WPML account). they will receive messages about new releases available (they will see them in their WordPress plugins section).
Hi,
When using the WPML plugin is to possible to do the following when setting up urls for lots of languages:
danish: example.dk
Swedish: example.eu/se
Norwegian: example.eu/no
English: example.eu/en
German: example:eu/de
ect…
only keeping the Danish on the .dk domain..
Also please pro’s and cons. thing is I have both .eu and .dk domain and while .eu is new the .dk domain has existed in more than 20 years.
Thank you in advance
Hi Frederik,
using WPML settings you can set up the following: http://example.eu/de/ or http://example.eu?lang=de – German etc
If you need to have a WPML site with the different domain per language, additional setup is required on your server, please check this doc for details:
https://wpml.org/2016/04/use-wpml-different-domains-per-language/
Hi Agnes
Thank you for your reply, however it does not exactly answer the question in full if I can use the ccTLD for only one language and example.eu/de /se /no etc for all other languages at the same time. So having to top level domains with one ccTLD (dk) and a generic TLD (eu) for the rest
Could you please help me out?
I have full acess to nginx configs so doing as your link suggests is fine. I need clarification on the above.
Thank you
OK, let me consult this specific case with our developers to provide you with a definite answer.
Hello Frederik,
turns out such a setup isn’t possible – you either use languages in directories or in domains, but you cannot mix the two.
Please consider the following as a solution:
danish: domain.dk
Swedish: se.domain.eu
Norwegian: no.domain.eu
English: en.domain.eu
etc…
I have a spanish client whose basic site is built in English language but he wants to add a button for Spanish language.

Also, which plan would you suggest for us.
Hello Ryan,
WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically. Yes, you can add diffrent CSS rules for a specific language. WPML adds the lang attribute (for example lang=”es-ES”) for each page and you can use when adding your CSS rules.
Hello,
I have already purchased WPML last week, but it did not work well with Godaddy Managed WP so I just upgraded to Godaddy cPanel. My website name or URL has not changed, how can I use the WPML plugin that I already purchased on the upgraded version of my website?

Hello,
I have simple website made on Pinnacle theme (under construction)
There is only : home site, about site, portfolio site, blog site , simple contact form site( based on plug Contact Form 7)
I think that for this moment enoug option is “Multilingual Blog version of WPML -29 $ ) – am I right?
Later I will make other website where probbably will be shop (made on WooCommerce plugin) So I have a question if it is possible to upgrade from version “Multilingual Blog” to ” Multilingual CMS” ? If I can upgrade , can I do it at any time or have to wait to end of 1 year. ?
Kind regards
Marta
Hi Marta,
yes, you can start with the “Multilingual Blog” subscription and upgrade to the ” Multilingual CMS” (or Lifetme) later.
I found this page:
https://www.kadencethemes.com/working-wpml/
and according to it, you might need the WPML String Translation plugin, which is included only in the Multilingual Blog/Lifetime version.
Also, to create a multilingual store you will need the Multilingual Blog/Lifetime subscription. But you can start with the Blog one and upgrade later for the difference in purchase price.
Hello Agnes,
Thank you for quick reply. Have a nice day 🙂
Hello,
We have a couple of sites already in different languages.
We just need to redirect users based on country and THEN based on browser language (for countries that have various languages).
Can this plugin handle this scenario?
If not, could it at least redirect based on language? We could use another plugin for the country part.
We’re looking just for the redirection, not all the other (cool) translation features.
Thanks.
Can I pay for premium/urgent support requests?
We are handling support request in the FIFO order (first in, first out) and don’t provide any premium/urgent support option but maybe you would be interested in contacting one of our contractors?
