  1. Hi,
I am building a new webshop – in Danish and English – and would like to use WPML. I have finished most of the English part, but it has now been decided that the Danish site should be the mainsite. Is it possible to choose danish as the main language in WPML or will the main language now be English?
    Best regards,
    Jette

so my question can I change through theme direct
and your program can add fonts

    • Hello,
WPML supports RTL languages but also your theme needs to be RTL ready. If your theme is not RTL, you will need to do some CSS adjustments manually. Your theme hasn’t been tested by our Compatibility Team so we don’t know how it will work. If you want to give it a try, you can buy WPML with our refund policy in mind.

  3. Hello I have a question on payments.

Last year I built a website for a client using WPML, if we are not actively using the website for translation do they still need to pay the annual fee? Or will the site and it’s translation facility be broken.

If this is so is there an option they can go onto that is cheaper that won’t affect their website. I am about to build another website using WPML and this client is asking the same thing…

    • Hello,
if you don’t renew, you will lose access to new versions but WPML plugins will still work. Of course, we cannot anticipate what will happen if you update WordPress to the recent version and you don’t update WPML plugins.

  4. Hello,

I want to purchase the WPML Multilingual CMS. I understand that the license allows 3 activations. My question is if I activate the license on a website and after a while deactivate it (will not receive further updates), will the deactivation free up the numbers of activations remaining?

    Thank you!

  5. Hi, In Relation to Automatic Translation prices per words. Do I need to pay for words in pages of my site that have already been translated? Can you point me to complete info on the costs of automatic translation?
    Thanks for your help.
    Cheers.
    Fernando

  6. Hi Friends,
I have a spanish website built with DIVI layout and yoast premium plugin.
I need to add english and italian languages.
Can I add your plugin without having conflicts with DIVI and yoast?
Can I duplicate pages “automatically” and we translate it manually?
Can yoast recognize all pages of all languages (for keywords inserting)
Can I change default language to IT?
Is there a function to recognize the country and conseguently open the right language?
(For ex: An italian visitor open directly italian language and a Latin visitor open in Spanish.)
Thank you very much, and saludos!
    Massimo

  7. Hi,

I think that WPML creates different folders for every language. Like

    Example.com/en/shop (for English)
    Example.com/fr/shop (for French)

    Is this correct?

If this is the way WPML works does it generate non translated content in all the folders in the default language?

    Example
    English is the default language.

    I create a page

    Example.com/en/shop/food (in English)
    Will the page
Example.com/fr/shop/food be created in English if the page isn’t translated yet?
    Or will the page
Example.com/fr/shop/food Only be created when the translation is done?

    Best regards
    Wim

    • Hello,

Both options are possible in WPML. By default, nothing will be showed if you don’t have the translation yet. We also provide an option to display the original language if the translation doesn’t exit.

  8. Hi,
What means “Multilingual CMS for life upgrade from CMS – $116 (USD)” ?
Is this a final license without more anual payments?
We would like to renew our license to keep the plugin updated but we are not really doing too many changes to keep paying every year.
    Regards,
    Cesar

  9. Does WPML allow for separate Administrators for each language content? For example, if I have a site that is in English and Spanish, but I only want Person A to be able to change the English content, and Person B to be able to change the Spanish content, is that possible? I am looking to setup a site where translations are linked and the site is in 3 languages but the client has requested that each language is only accessible by the person responsible for that language.

  10. Hi

I am setting up wordpress multisite and i will have two site on it both with own domain, what license i will need?

    Regards Elias

    • Hi, if you run only one physical copy of WordPress, you will need to use only one registration key (for the main site).

  11. I understand that WPML plugin offers chinese translations from english, but I don’t see any information if it offers translations to traditional chinese. We have an english website and would like to get a plugin that will automatically translate everything into traditional chinese. Can you please help before we purchase the right product for our needs? Thank you!

  12. Hi WPML,

We have been told that we’ll be charged for each word that gets translated with each page thats loaded by our users even if it’s the same page over and over. Is this true? We were certain that we could translate our pages once off and then make any changes necessary if the page were needing to be translated again? We just need some clarifying on the costs as our website is being constantly changed around and visited by many users. We don’t want to be paying for each word that gets loaded just because its the home page.

    kind regards,
    Harriette

    • Hello Harriette,
Thanks for your interest. WPML offers different translation methods. If you mean automatic translation we will charge you for the translation of the word once. The translation takes place in the backend and not every time the language gets switched on the frontend by the visitors. Is this what you mean?
      More info here https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/

      Let me know?

  13. For my new client I would like to build a new real estate website. Is it possible to combine WPML with Easy Property Listings.
So we could offer houses in the Dutch language and the English version.
    Please let me know…
    Many thanks in advance,
    Daisy van Zoggel

  14. Hello, I have a license that allows me 3 domains.

In fact, I only need 2. (One domain and its subdomain)

Where can I look up the prices to get the appropriate license for me?

    Thank you and best regards,
    Brigitte Kobi

    • Hello Brigitte,
I see you have a CMS subscription, which allows to register up to 3 sites and gives you access to all the plugins. If you buy a new Blog subscription you can register only one site but it will only give you access to the core plugin.
      Pricing is here https://wpml.org/purchase/

Let me know if you have any other questions

      • Dear Mercedes

Thank you very much. I understand that I have the right subscriptions since I run an online shop.

        Kind regards
        Brigitte

        • Hello Brigitte,
that’s correct. To run an online shop you need to have the Multilingual CMS. It allows you to register up to 3 sites.

  15. I was wondering if I buy the second package can I upgrade it to the full one in that period of one year that i’m using it?

    • Hello Gocho,
Yes you can upgrade to the Agency version for the difference only, as long as the subscription is active.

      Kind regards,

  16. I’ve been using WPML for several years, for fairly simple sites.

However, I’ve come to a point that I don’t see the advantage of WPML.

    1) I still have to translate everything.

    2) It’s still very complicated to set up multi-lingual sites.

    3) Every site I’ve used it on needed tweaking of the theme / CSS to get it visually right.

    4) I have to pay for it each hear

    5) There have been serious problems with an important site because of an update of WPML that didn’t play nice with the theme. A theme that was WPML-compatible, mind you. It took months to fix. Ergo, it’s not without risks.

Not trying to be negative, but seriously asking: What is the reason I should use WPML? What does it fix?

    • Hello,
      1. There is one of the options. We also provide machine translations and many of our customers like and use this option. Have you tried our ATE editor?
      2. What exactly you find complicated? Could you please elaborate more?
      3. That shouldn’t be the case with themes compatible with WPML. Can you please provide some examples? The theme names perhaps?
      4. Yes, that’s true as long as you want to be up to date and get access to our support forum. About 50 people work to maintain, enhance WPML and provide support. That’s the model that is becoming more and more popular in the WP industry.
      5. Can I have the name of the theme, please? I will check it with our Compatibility Team.
      Thank you.
      5.
