Hi,
Under websites it says 3 production 9 development by the multilingual cms , what does it means? Is it websites or total pages where you can use the translator for?
+
the price is it for each language or for all language in total. We have 3 different language, and two of them is international where we need to use WPML for SEO on the market.
Hello,
yes, you can use WPML on 12 websites in total but 9 of them needs to be marked as “development”. Development websites will have a banned added to the footer of your site saying that this is a development site. So in practice, you can use WPML on 3 production websites for real users. We allow to register these additional sites for testing purposes.
The price you see on the purchase page is for the plugin (including future updates) and our support assistance. It includes 90 000 translation credits (which you can redistribute between your websites) and this will allow you to translate 45 000 words automatically. If you need more credits, you need to pay extra, please check the pricing here.
WPML is well-prepared to improve your SEO.
I have a website that is using this translation plugin, but my developer “ditched” me and I have to pay a bill for the translator. Where and how can I create an account and use the “Pay as you go” function. I have an outstanding bill currently..
Hello,
to create the Pay as you go account, please go to your WordPress site, WPML > Translation Management > Tools (3rd tab). Feel free to contact us directly via this form if you have further questions on this matter. If you say you have a bill to pay, creating a new account might not help and we should check your case first.
Hello,
WPML supports both options. When you install WPML on a new site, the options with directories is selected by default but you can change it to the option with the question mark. In your case, it’s the other way around – you expect to choose the option with languages instead so simply make sure when setting up WPML that you select directories for languages. All these options are described here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/#language-url-format
I run a blog and I’d like to go multilanguage, including English and in a future, when I learn, also, Euskera, blog’s currently only in Spanish, I’ve seen a corporate website that runs with WPML, and it looks great, with the option to translate everything, I see WPML as the best option to have.
I’d like to know if Blog version 39€ will be enough for my site? Or should I wait, save a bit more, and try to buy 99€ CMS version, I only need to translate the frontend.
Let’s just say, it’s a simple blog, with little information like a diary of my life, and with a bit of information about another games, Blog or wait until I can buy CMS? Or can I buy blog and upgrade later for less price if I’m not happy enough with Blog version?
Hello Cristobal,
thank you for your interest in WPML.
The blog package will suffice for a simple site provided the following:
– you don’t need to use automatic translations (you translate everything manually, for example by copy-pasting your translations from external docs, Google translate etc. or you simply know the other language)
– your theme is a classic WordPress theme (as opposite to the so-called Full Site Editing themes based on blocks)
Also note, that the Blog package cannot translate some custom strings coming from your themes or plugin if these strings are not translated by the theme author or are coming from your WordPress admin. For examaple, some themes allow you enter the name of the “Read more” button in the theme settings or the message of a banner. To translate such admin strings you need the WPML String Translation plugin which is not included in the Blog package.
Yes, you can alway upgrade from the Blog package to the CMS package for the difference in the purchase price.
Hello,
I can see that you use automatic renewals so your WPML subscription will be renewed automatically on 23 Feb 2024. You don’t need to do anything now, just make sure the card you used is still valid (we don’t store your card (we use Stripe) and we don’t have this info). Please note that if for any reason your renewal order doesn’t complete successfully, you will receive an email notifying you about this fact and you will have up to 30 days to complete your order and still keep the discount we are giving for loyal clients.
Hello i need to buy WPML but as i see only payment option is paypal. What i need is generated invoice which i will send to my client for payment. Is this is possible? Also, i am seeing only “log in option”, but not “create account”.
Hello Pavel,
You are welcome to pay with a credit/debit card too. I am afraid we don’t accept wire transfers. In order to have an accout created you need to purchase a subscription from us first.
I have 2 clients that I am trying to buy WPML for. In both cases the CC numbers I am using are valid and being used elsewhere, but they are both declined here. They have checked and there is no lock on the cards for purchases outside the USA. this is a longshot, but is there an issue on your end with making CC purchases?
Hello Ben,
all other payments are going through normally.I cannot see any orders in our system with the email address you used to post this comment with which mean, they your order didn’t reach our side and it’s safe to try again. If the issue persists you would need to contact your bank for details or try another card.
Hello,
if you don’t renew your subscription, you can keep the WPML plugins and canceling your WPML subscription won’t affect your translations. If you don’t renew, you will lose access to plugin updates and our support assistance. We recommend keeping all your WordPress plugins up to date especially if you plan to update WordPress itself in the future.
Can WPML do the following on the plan at 99 pr. month.
Download translation string in to csv or po files, so that they can be translated and reuploaded easily?
Is it possible to conduct backend string translation of the pages, rather than only being able to translate plugin and theme strings like polylang and translatepress e.g.
With WPML CMS, you additionally are able to translate not only the .po strings but all post type data (post type content), meta data (custom fields), taxonomies, configuration options, navigation menus, and widgets as well. If a plugin stores any plugin-specific data in special custom tables, there may be compatibility issues that could arise if no bridge plugin exists. However, if all your backend data is stored in standard wodpress tables, all of your data should be translatable with the WPML CMS plan.
Hi,
I have a recipes Blog in spanish and would like to create the english verision with a different domain. I use the feast plugin. If I buy the CMS package will all my posts be automatically translated? If I want to edit or adjust anything will I be able to do so.
Also, if I dont want some blog posts categories on the english site is it possible to do that?
Hello,
Thank you for your interest in WPML.
WPML has never been tested for the compatibility with the Feast plugin and it might not work as expected, meaning you might not be able to translate the texts coming from this plugin. Yes, blog posts can be automatically translated by WPML. And yes, you can edit and adjust your automatic translations. I’m not sure what you mean by excluding some of your blog post categories on the English site. WPML offers two translations modes: #1 Translate everything automatically and #2 “Let me choose what to translate”. If you choose #2 you can pick the posts to be translated automatically and you can use this “feature” of WPML to skip some of your posts.
We are evaluating translation alternatives and considering buying your product, but I have a question before we proceed. I’ve read about your Advanced Translation Editor, and want to confirm, is it true that I must give translators access to my WP Admin Dashboard? Is there not a front-end UI for translators to use? We do not give anybody access to the WP admin dashboard, so this is potentially a deal-breaker for us. Please let me know if there is a way around it.
Hello David,
Thank you for your interest in WPML and your questions. If you don’t plan to hire any professional translators, you don’t have to give access to your WordPress site. But yes, you translate your WordPress site on your WordPress backend and WPML doesn’t prove a front-end UI for translators to use. If you translate a post or a page, you will see it opened in the WPML Translation Editor that looks something like that Please check this page for details.
Hi,
I’m a project manager of a website; we want to have two languages- English and traditional Chinese. The original materials are mostly simplified Chinese; I was wondering if WPML could help us translate automatically from simplified Chinese to traditional Chinese and English.
Thanks
Yes, WPML can translate from simplified Chinese to traditional Chinese and English.
I’m not sure what you mean by “The original materials are mostly simplified Chinese;” why mostly?
Hello,
I have a website with 50.000 words. I want to translate it in 4-5 languages. But that last plan (199euro) has only 180,000 translation credits. What is the best solution for my website, so I can have more words and can translate it in all 4-5 languages?
Thanks.
Hello,
if you run out of the credits, you can consider the Pay-as-you-go option. Please check this calculator to estimate how much you will pay when translating your site to 4 or 5 languages.
I’m considering buying your plugin for my small business woocommerce shop. I use Xtheme pro (cornerstone) which seems to be compatible with WPML. Since the page is small (3-4 pages + terms and conditions etc) with max 12 products I dont know which plan works for me the best. I am considering in buying the 99$ plan but I dont know if this is mandatory subscription every year or if I dont update your plugin for next year am I still going to be able to use it with versions of the first year?. I preffere in buying the product once and not having a “rent”.
Would you be so kind and suggest me what would work the best for my situation (1 page only and English-Slovenian translation) ?
Thank you in advance,
Ziga
Hello,
yes, you need the CMS package for any WooCommerce website. Renewals are optional. If you cancel your WPML subscription (which you can do at any time from within your WPML account), you can still use the WPML plugins and keep the translations but you won’t be receiving plugin updates and our support assistance.
I am considering to buy this plugin. I have few things that I need to confirm.
1- Can i get a demo on how translation management works?
2- If i have a page in US and a page corresponding to it in mexico site but different content(UI/UX) as well as language. Will WPML be able to handle it. Or will it just be able to help with translations?
3- Are there any issues that i should be aware of while using it with wordpress VIP?
Hello there,
Let me answer your questions in order:
1. We don’t have a demo available but this link may help you understanding better how it works.
2. If you need to have different content (UI/UX), you can manually translate your pages as explained here.
3. Currently, we don’t have any open reports regarding WordPress VIP.
I hope it helps.
Hello Davide,
If you don’t renew you will lose updates and support but will be able to keep using WPML as it is installled on your site.
More info here https://wpml.org/purchase/wpml-renewal/
My agency usually does 8-10 sites a year that need WPML & we’ve been purchasing a license for them so they can manage the renewals. I currently have 2 clients I am trying to do this for but the CC is declined. In looking for a solution I came across the page about and have questions.
1. I get a free site with every transfer. So if I have the multilingual CMS license and transfer 2 sites, will I have 5 sites to work with, or will I have just freed up 2 licenses so I can work on 3 sites again?
2. When a site is transferred, do we gain back translation credits? For example, if I build a site that uses 25,000 of the 90,000 credits, would I gain those back once the site is transferred, or would I have 65,000 credits for new websites?
Hello Ben,
1- You will be able to keep registered and send updates to 3 sites, besides your transferred sites. So if you register 3 sites, then transfer 1 to your client, you will be able to register one more.
2- No, once you have used the credits they cannot be recovered.
“Hello,
if you run out of the credits, you can consider the Pay-as-you-go option. Please check this calculator to estimate how much you will pay when translating your site to 4 or 5 languages.”
Hello, thanks for your response.
So, for 45.000 words, 5 languages, the simulation says I have to pay 197euro.
– is this price per month or year?
– what is the difference between Microsoft, Google and DeepL?
– my website will have some medical terminologies, will WPML support this and automatically translate?

It’s one-time price. As soon as you pages are translated, you don’t need to use credits again. Of course, if you will change something in your original content and you would like to retranslate these updated pieces then you will pay only a small amount for the very few credits that you needed to use again.

I am desperately trying to purchase again the licence for one year but the price is only in Euro. I made the search to convert in US but the procedure doesn’t work.
Can you please help so I can purchase the licence?
Hello Catherine,
I’m sorry but you can no longer pay in US. Your subscription expired on November 23, 2023 and now, it’s considered a new purchase. We switched from USD to Euro in last August. We explained all the details in this article and your case is falling in this case:
I purchased WPML in USD, then canceled it. I’ve now renewed with automatic payments. What currency will my renewals be processed in?
After re-enabling your WPML subscription and setting up automatic payments again, your yearly renewals will be processed in Euro.
Could you please clarify the pricing for me? Is the total price of €99.00 it is for per year or no? And please explain what the annual renewal cost is €74.00, so it will be 99 + 74
Hello,
hello, you pay 99 euros for the first year and then you will receive 25% discount that why you will pay 74 euros for the next year. Of course, you can cancel your subscription at any time.

Hello
The WPML CMS subscription plan includes the String Translation module which has an interface for editing .po files offline and/or online.
More here: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-generate-a-po-file-for-a-plugin-or-a-theme/
With WPML CMS, you additionally are able to translate not only the .po strings but all post type data (post type content), meta data (custom fields), taxonomies, configuration options, navigation menus, and widgets as well. DeepL is considered the best one. You can test it out here: https://www.deepl.com/translator and you can check the Microsoft’s engine here and you probably know Google Translate
In this case we strongly recommend setting up the so-called Glossary before you start translating.
