Hello,
we no longer have the lifetime membership. We used to have it in the past but since that business model turned out to be unsustainable we switched to new models: https://wpml.org/purchase/
Hi,
I have a few questions:
1. Will the original URL will save? I don’t want to lose all the links I’ve accumulated so far.
My intention is that the site in English will be as follows:https://www.netafim55.com/
And in Hebrew for example: https://www.netafim55.com/he/
2. Once I have finished translating the site, do I have to keep paying every year?
3. Is the plugin lets translate Yoast SEO too?
4. Can images, for example, be translated into an elementor?
Thank you!
Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML.
1. The links you have accumulated so far won’t disappear after installing WPML. They will be still available and from WPML’s point of view, they will be assigned to the language you have chosen as your primary language in WPML (English for example). Yes, if you add Hebrew as your secondary language during the WPML setup and choose the subdirectory option, you will get links as in your example.
2. No, you don’t. You can cancel your subscription anytime and still use WPML plugins but after the first year you will lose access to updates and our support forum.
3. Yes, we are compatible with Yoast SEO and you can translate strings from that plugin too.
4. Yes, we are compatible with Elementor too.
I would like to know if with WPML, Im able to fetch posts, pages, categories, tags, menus, etc in several languages using REST API endpoints. Are there endpoints differents from the default ones that WordPress provide? Can I see an example of a request and response for a post id before purchasing?
Im asking this because im interested in buying a “Multilingual CMS” but only if the plugin provides these options, since im using WordPress as a Headless CMS.
Hello Matt,
yes, we used to have a free solution for non-profit organizations but no longer have. We are considering offering some discounts but since it involves a kind of validation process it’s not ready yet. We are working on it. If you need WPML now, you would need to buy it, but if you could wait about a week, please let me know.
Hey Matt,
yes, that’s still under discussion. We’ll get back to you soon. Hopefully this week. If you don’t get any reply, could you please get back to us again. Here or via this form: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/ Thank you for your patience.
OK, we are ready. Please use this form https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/ and send us your domain name, the one that represents the non-profit organization you are going to use WPML for. Please put the non-profit discount in the subject line and we will send you how to proceed to buy WPML CMS with 50% discount.
Hi,
I have a wordpress website using DIVI as the theme with lots of content. I want to be able to partially translate content (i.e. not translate some of the menus etc or skip some pages and posts). Will your plugin show content for both languages (for example if the chosen language does not have translated content to show the original language and avoid showing blank pages as polylang does). Will the basic version do that or do I need the CMS version? Our initial plan was to go with Polylang but the content is really a lot and we dont want to recreate every page in the second language.
Hello,
1. Yes, 30 days.
2. Some say it’s better, some say it’s not. We use the Azure’s MT engine
3. You can keep them forever, even if you don’t renew your WPML subscription.
4. Yes, you can.
5. WPML subscription is per year, machine translation – please check this page: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
We provide 10,000 words per month for free.
6. No, it’s one-time price (unless you need more new words next month)
Yes, you can “transfer” your “license? (the key) from your development site to your live site. This is how to do it:
1. In your WPML Account go to Sites and delete your development domain
2. Add your production domain, a new key will be generated. Copy the key.
3. Go to your WPML site: Plugins -> Add new -> Commercial tab. Click unregister and then register again using the new key.
Please note that deleting the domain/key in your WPML account won’t delete the WPML plugins and you can use them even without registration. Registration is required only to get updates from within the wp-admin.
Hello,
Our website is defaulted in English. I was wondering if your plugin allows for only specific pages to automatically show up in Japanese, for our Japan readers. Is there a special URL we can send people to for the Japanese versions of those pages?
I find that the template is created with woocommerce and has some filters. These contain translation strings. Can you assure me if WPML would let me translate into the languages I want these translation strings?
Hello Marc,
if a theme is on our list, there is a good chance it will work without any issues. But I cannot say “for sure” and if you find anything not working as expected, you would need to open a ticket on our support forum and then our developers will look into it.
Hi, does your plugin support changing the date format of “Last updated On” the blog page?
For example, our site is using English and French languages and we wanted the English post date to be in M/D/Y then the French date format should be D/M/Y
If your theme is using the standard date format from WordPress, WPML is able to translate this format using our WPML String Translation. In case it is using a custom function, it would depend on how that feature has been built and if it is multilingual ready.
We’re using The7 Theme, is it possible to have different Last Update on (see sample: https://prnt.sc/sfx2co) date format for English( M/D/Y ) and French ( D/M/Y ) posts?
Does your plugin has this functionality or would still need some customization on the code?
Our Compatibility team declare your The7 theme as compatible a few months ago. Thus I would say you should be able to translate your date format using WPML String Translation. https://wpml.org/theme/the7/
There is a really small chance that a few things have changed since then but I would say that there shouldn’t be any issue. If so, you can always open a ticket in our support forum: https://wpml.org/forums/
Hello
1) I am exempt from VAT and should not pay VAT. SO how can I buy your product without VAT?
2) Why is it auto renewal & payment every year? I only want to buy the product as a one-time expense. How do I do that?
3) I now read many posts about their webshops gets very slow after installation of WPML. Is that fixed? Or will I get a really bad website by buying & installing your tool?
4) Should I buy the product via your website or via wordpress backend plugin install?
5) Is the OnTheGoSystems WPML plugin the same? or competitor? or something needed to make your product work?
Thanx
Martin
1) In our checkout page, there’s a field to enter your VAT number. When you enter a valid VAT, we don’t charge it.
2) You can cancel the automatic renewal after you buy WPML.
3) WPML, like any other plugin, will add some execution time to your site. It’s not going to make your site painfully slow. There are over 1 million commercial websites running WPML. Some sites do have performance problems, many not related to us. We work with any client who has a performance problem, get to the bottom of it and make sure that sites run smoothly.
Not sure I understood… no machine translations?: ” WPML lets authors write content in different languages and translate content. It also includes advanced features for translation management and an interface for professional content translation.”
Would it be possible to have the backend (WordPress admin) only in English and the frontend (actual website) appear in the Slovak language, with an option to translate into English. When potential client click on the search engine results or social media search result, can I have the website immediately open in Slovak language?
There are bulk translations: If I go to pages in WordPress admin, can I have it all translated at once? Or do I have to translate (machine translation) each page separately.
1. With CMS version ($79,-) can I translate every page / plug-in in my website? (I want also to translate the terms and conditions page of my website).
2. What does 2000 per month mean – does that means that I can only translate 2000 words per month?
3. Is it also possible to translate advertisements in Google Ads by WPML-translators?
4. How does a customer change from my normal website, to the website in his/hers native language? (Can it be done with a flag in the main-menu)?
5. Can I create a site-wide NEW path PER country, per example: (Deutschland: /de/product etcetera) and can it be done by using WPML?
1. Yes. Our Multilingual CMS ($79) package includes all of WPML’s features and will let you translate everything in your site.
2. WPML lets you translate as much as you want YOURSELF without any quota. Additionally, we offer 2000/words per month of free machine translation.
3. Google will automatically show ads in the right language in translated content.
4. Yes. WPML lets you display language switchers in different places in the site. On of the most popular spots for a language switcher is in a menu (typically the top menu).
5. Yes. WPML will organize languages in your sites in virtual folders (like /de/, /es/, etc.).
I have been a member for about 3 years. I made a licensed purchase. I made two payments. And how do I become unable to use a service I pay for a ridiculous reason, like the expiration date? You can lock the settings on my web page and do not allow me to intervene. Moreover, can you disrupt the working side of my web page? What happened to the English store page was broken? What happened to the font on the page is not read? And your add-on causing all of this? I gave money and bought it. I have the right to use my purchase without any problems. Give up your ridiculous money laundering models. Did you think you would win like this? Now correct my page and upload the products I purchased to my subscription. I can carry this issue up to the courts. Because I am a customer and I am 100% right about a purchase I made. Because you lock some features on my web page and disrupt the function of the page. This is not your right! I also appeal to all prospects who will purchase the add-on. The most expensive thing in life is experience. I have experienced this.
Hello Erdogan,
I see you have an expired CMS subscription. You need to renew it in order to access updates and support again, as is explained in our Purchase page https://wpml.org/purchase/
Could you please confirm that feature called “Use directory for default language option” allows to have a different order for the language code in the path?
The screenshots of the UI in the documentation page you referred to seems to suggest that it can allow “/blog/es-es” but it is not evident to me how could I configure it to have it this order we need: “/es-es/blog”.
You can’t change that order. When you use our “Use directory for default language option” feature, you will have first your domain, then your language code and then the rest or the URL. For example, http://www.domain/es-es/blog/hello-world
Sorry for the misunderstanding, I was only referring to your WordPress pages and articles. CSS, JS and images won’t have a /es-es/ prefix, they all point to the same resource. For example, let’s say you have a stylesheet mycss.css. It will load from http://www.domain/es-es/mycss.css for all your languages.
In your case, if you need to load your assets keeping a structure like: http://www.domain/es-es/blog/mycss.css, you will need to setup your WordPress differently as WPML won’t do it by default.
I am looking for a solution to translate an internal e-learning plattform. It should a) be a good translation and b) have options to implement the languages easily into the present page setup (via language switcher).
Is it possible to get a refund if the automated translation is not what we are looking for? We are unsure because there is no possibility to test it.
Hello Susanne,
Do you mean a refund for the automatic translation subscription? We have a refund policy for WPML subscription https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/ but not for the automatic translation subscription.
Good afternoon, we purchased WPML but we are unable to download the WPML Multilingual CMS plug, BuddyPress Multilingual has downloaded it. We have purchased WPML Multilingual CMS, why can’t we download it after paying for it ?. Thank you, I await your kind reply, Antonio
Hello,
something is wrong with your WPML account. In our system, I can see this msg: “This user has no subscriptions for this status.” which in most cases means that your order didn’t complete. Have you been charged? What can you see in your bank account? We are gonna check this out as well. We might want to ask you to purchase again. We will keep you posted.
That should be possible but the details will depend on the theme you use how the logo has been implemented by that theme. Can you please give me the name of your theme?
We are compatible with the7 theme https://wpml.org/theme/the7/ so there is a good chance it will work with its child theme as well. If not, you can request your refund in 30 days.
I was currently using multicurrency, but i had some caching problems as I didn’t buy it yet, and am using WP_rocket. So I was looking as I want to evolve to WPML someday soon, and see that currency is supported directly in the plugin?
However, I’m not sure it will do what you want as far as currencies are concerned. As far as I understand this, you can change the currency when they are displaying a specific language, e.g. if you have Japanese they will display prices in Yen.
In my case, it will be Engish for the UK and English, e.g. for Greece. I’m not sure if the plugin can geolocate and display the correct currency without changing the language.
dear i want to know if you have lifetime membership for unlimites sites or not ?
if yes plese let me know how i could purchase it .
thank you

Hello Pedro,
We are still working in our compatibility with the REST API but you should be able to achieve what you are trying to do. You can find more information here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/rest-api-dependencies/#rest-api-endpoints-used-by-wpml
And how the API looks in our site:

Hello. Can I use all the plugins when I receive your $ 29 package? For example: Contact form 7 wpml or yoast seo wpml
Hello Ali,
No, the 29 version only includes the core plugin. You will need at least the CMS version to access the other plugins.
Kind regards,
Can I have the following products when I purchase the $ 29 product?
1) WPML Multilingual CMS
2)WPML String Translation
Do you have a student discount for your $ 89 product?
Hello Ali,
we don’t have discounts but some of our affiliates might have something. You would need to look around.
Hello, in this case, you need the Multilingual CMS.
Does your program work well with Arabic?
Does the product work automatically with Learn Dash and Woo Commerce or do we have to purchase an upgrade for that?
Hello,
yes, WPML works with Arabic.
Yes, we are compatible with WooCommerce and Learn Dash and you need the Multilingual CMS package in that case.
WPML used to offer a free solution for non-profit organizations. Is this still an option? If so, what is the registration process?
Hello Matt,
yes, we used to have a free solution for non-profit organizations but no longer have. We are considering offering some discounts but since it involves a kind of validation process it’s not ready yet. We are working on it. If you need WPML now, you would need to buy it, but if you could wait about a week, please let me know.
Hi Agnes,
Yes, I can wait to hear back. Thanks!
Hey Matt,
yes, that’s still under discussion.

Hello,
yes, WPML helps you to handle such cases. Actually, there are different options you can use for such cases.
By the way, we have a polylang to WPML converter. https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/migrate-polylang-wpml/
Hello,
Is WPML still incompatible with Printful ?
Best Regards
Nexus
Hello,
no, we are not compatible and our users report some issues:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/printful-synced-variations-fail-after-a-while-when-wpml-active/
Here are my questions :
1.Do we have a grace period to regret and get our money back? if yes, how many days.
2. How is the automatic translation quality? can you explain why your translation is better than Google Translate?
3. Are the translated texts copiable or they are just there till we make the payment?
4. Can we modify the translations that the plugin generates? we might need to change the tone for some of translations
5. Is the fee per month or per year?
6. If we buy 100 000 words, do we need to pay for it very month?
Hello,
1. Yes, 30 days.

We want to use WPML in a developement -> staging -> live context. I that possible with only one license?
Yes, you can “transfer” your “license? (the key) from your development site to your live site. This is how to do it:
1. In your WPML Account go to Sites and delete your development domain
2. Add your production domain, a new key will be generated. Copy the key.

Please note that deleting the domain/key in your WPML account won’t delete the WPML plugins and you can use them even without registration. Registration is required only to get updates from within the wp-admin.
Awesome, thanks a lot for the detailed response!
Hello,
Our website is defaulted in English. I was wondering if your plugin allows for only specific pages to automatically show up in Japanese, for our Japan readers. Is there a special URL we can send people to for the Japanese versions of those pages?
Hello Michie,
Yes, you can do this with our Automatic redirect based on language browser feature https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/automatic-redirect-based-on-browser-language/
hello this template has been tested by wpml for 5 months. https://wpml.org/theme/adventure-tours/
I find that the template is created with woocommerce and has some filters. These contain translation strings. Can you assure me if WPML would let me translate into the languages I want these translation strings?
thnx!
Hello Marc,
if a theme is on our list, there is a good chance it will work without any issues. But I cannot say “for sure” and if you find anything not working as expected, you would need to open a ticket on our support forum and then our developers will look into it.
How can I do it if I don’t have an active license? is a pre-sale question. I don’t want to buy if I’m not sure it will work
Hello Marc,
our refund policy allows you to test WPML for 30 days. Please check this link: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/
Please note that during the trial you can use our support forum.

Hi,
I don`t understand if currency switcher are includet or not, and how it work.
The currency switcher is available when you use WPML with WooCommerce. You need the CMS package. Please read more about it here: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/multi-currency-support-woocommerce/

Hello,
we provide machine translations if you enable the ATE editor. Please read more about it here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/
https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
Yes, you can have backend in one language and front-end in another.
You can send more than one page at once for translations but if you would like to edit the machine translations you need to edit each page separately.

Hello Erdogan,
I see you have an expired CMS subscription. You need to renew it in order to access updates and support again, as is explained in our Purchase page https://wpml.org/purchase/
We need that language blogs have this format: [domain]/[langcode]/blog
For example, we would need that languages blogs are found at these URLs:
http://www.example.com/es-es/blog/
http://www.example.com/de-de/blog/
http://www.example.com/it-it/blog/
Does WPML support this URL schema? (i.e. is it possible to define a custom language code as “es-es/blog” instead of just “es”?)
Hello Pep,
Yes, WPML has a feature called “Use directory for default language option” which allow you to have this URL format:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/directory-default-language/
On the other hand, you can’t edit your languages code. However, you can create a new language and add the language code that you project requires:
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/editing-wpmls-languages-table/
Regards,
Andrés

You can’t change that order. When you use our “Use directory for default language option” feature, you will have first your domain, then your language code and then the rest or the URL. For example, http://www.domain/es-es/blog/hello-world
Does it answer you question ?

Do you mean by setting up in WordPress a custom permalink link /blog/%postname%/ ?
Would the links in the generated HTML page (ccs, images, etc) point under the http://www.domain/es-es/blog/ prefix?
In our configuration, http://www.domain/es-es is routed by the load balancer to a Magento instance on a different machine while http://www.domain/es-es/blog/ or http://www.domain/es-es/blog/ are routed to WordPress.
This means that any assets referred to by WordPress/WPML need to be under http://www.domain/es-es/blog/ otherwise will not be served.
For example, if we have http://www.domain/es-es/css/mycss.css will not be served.

Hello, no, we don’t use Google translations, we use Azure’s MT engine but you can also provide your own translations.
Hello WPML-team,
I am looking for a solution to translate an internal e-learning plattform. It should a) be a good translation and b) have options to implement the languages easily into the present page setup (via language switcher).
Is it possible to get a refund if the automated translation is not what we are looking for? We are unsure because there is no possibility to test it.
Thanks and have a nice day.
Susanne Duckhorn
Hello Susanne,
Do you mean a refund for the automatic translation subscription? We have a refund policy for WPML subscription https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/ but not for the automatic translation subscription.
Let me know?
Hello Mercedes,
Yes, that’s what I meant. Do you know if there is a possibility to test the automatic translation before purchasing a subscription?
Thanks,
Susanne
Hi Susanne,
I am afraid we do not have a refund policy for the automatic translation but we offer 10,000 free words so that you can try it out https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/free-words-per-month/
Dear Support,
Can I use different logos for the different languages? Eg. If the logo contains a text which needs to be translated in the different languages view.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Csaba Szilagyi
That should be possible but the details will depend on the theme you use how the logo has been implemented by that theme. Can you please give me the name of your theme?
Thank you for your answer.
The theme name: the7dtchild
Best regards,
Csaba
Hello there,
Our WooCommerce Multilingual does not support geolocalisation yet. However, our devs are working in implementing such a feature.
At this moment, you can set a currency as default per language:
