Hi WPML team,
I’m looking at the pricing table for the Multilingual Agency plan and I see “Websites: Unlimited”. Could you please confirm exactly what this means in practice?
Specifically:
Does “Unlimited” mean I can install/activate the Agency license on an unlimited number of production sites (including client sites), or are there any restrictions (for example only on sites I own)?
Does the “Unlimited” allowance also cover staging/development sites, multisite networks, and subdomains, or do you treat production and development environments differently (like the other plans that show “1 production / 3 development”)?
How is the license key handled — one key per account that can be used on many sites, or separate keys per installation?
I see Support & updates = One year. After that year, will the plugin continue to work without renewal but just stop receiving updates/support? How does renewal restore updates/support — retroactively for sites already using it or only from renewal date onward?
Any special terms I should be aware of for reseller/agency use (deploying on client sites, managed hosting, transfers)?
A short link to the license/terms page that spells out these details would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance for the clarification — much appreciated.

A separate key per installation.

Yes the plugin will still work. More here: https://wpml.org/home/terms-and-conditions/#what-happens-if-you-don-t-renew
Once your account renews, you can access the support forum immediately and all previous updates are available for download if you need access to thoses. Essentially, with the renewal “flag” activated on your account, it will allow you to connect to the Downloads section and the Support Forum.
5. Any special terms I should be aware of for reseller/agency use (deploying on client sites, managed hosting, transfers)?
Apart from being able to transfer license renewals to your clients, I am not aware of any “special terms”.

Guten Tag, wir haben das plugin erworben, wenn wir es nicht länger als ein Jahr benötigen, wann und wie können wir es kündigen, daß es sich nicht automatisch verlängert oder verlängert es sich nicht automatisch? Ich frage um Folgekosten zu vermeiden. Vielen Dank für eine Info.
Good afternoon, we have purchased the plugin. If we no longer need it after a year, when and how can we cancel it so that it does not automatically renew, or does it not renew automatically? I am asking in order to avoid follow-up costs. Thank you very much for your information.
Log in to your account and look for the underlined words “Modify your renewal options” in the top banner. It’s next to the box with the words “Upgrade your account”
In the next screen under the “Payment method” section, look for the underlined words “Cancel automatic renewal”.
Click on this text and fill in the form.
This will stop your automatic subscription renewal.
I’d like more information on the post-editing feature of AI/MT translations. Can these automatic translations be exported or connected to a CAT tool like MemoQ for human review? Or can these translations only be post-edited within the site?
In theory you should be able to do this. The workflow would be something like this:
1. Configure the system to require review before publishing translated posts.
2. Send translations via Tranlsation Dashboard for automatic translation
3. Download the translated posts via the XLIFF interface from the Translations Queue (instead of reviewing them immediately) and send to professional service /CAT tool
4. Upload the reviewed/edited posts via XLIFF interface
5. Bulk approce the posts to close the original translation workflow and publish.
Does the WPML plugin support automatically redirecting users to the corresponding language page based on their IP address and browser language? This feature is crucial for us, as it eliminates the need for customers to manually select their language page.
We would like to renew our WPML subscription for https://www.zycus.com/ but not able to make the payment as we are getting message from PayPal that ‘The merchant isn’t able to accept PayPal payments at this time. Please try again later or return to the merchant and choose another way to pay.’ We are based out of India.
Please help how to fix this issue so we can buy the subscription today itself.
I would like to know if the multi-currency function supports a view where both the country and its corresponding currency is showed. For reference, I would like to achieve this or a similar look if someone clicks on the language or currency switcher: https://ibb.co/RGHRqr8D
I checked your account and I can see that the account is marked as “pending cancellation”. Are you still having problems with the link? If so, please try uisng the same link but make sure you are logged out of your wpml.org account and then select the text: “Ask for a refund without login” under the login details.
Thank you for reporting this issue, I will be looking into it. For the moment, if you use this form to contact the admin team, they will process your refund manually: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/
Hello! The contact form above is not working either. There’s no form but a message: Need technical help? If so, please go to WPML’s technical support. This form is for non-technical issues like press inquiries, purchase issues and other admin assistance.
I have reported the issue to our systems team. They have advised that they could see the issue and that the current workaround is to ensure that you are logged in and attempt to access the Refund link there.
I hope this will work for you as it did for them.
I hope that the link will be working soon. As a last resort, please send an email to hello@wpml.org and ask them to process your refund there.
In general, translation credits are managed “by site” and “per word”. However, you can share glossaries and translation memories across sites to make the most of repeated content and not pay to have it translated more than once.
I am currently using LearnDash and would like to make my quizzes available in multiple languages. Specifically, I want my quizzes to be translatable into Hindi and Marathi, while keeping English as the default language.
I also want my students to have the ability to switch the quiz language from the frontend — for example, choosing between English, Hindi, and Marathi before or during the quiz.
Could you please confirm if this functionality is supported natively, or if any additional plugin (such as WPML or another multilingual solution) would be required to achieve this?
As stated in your AI Policies, WPML’s AI translation service relies on several third-party providers, including DeepL, Google Gemini, OpenAI, and AWS. Since AWS may use data to improve its models by default unless the Opt Out option is enabled, could you please confirm whether this option is active for all AWS services used by WPML?
Sorry for the delay in responding as I wanted to make sure I gave you an accurate answer. It is our intention to “Opt Out” on all services we use. At the time of writing, we are in the process of doing so.
My suggestion to you is to write agin at a later date to get the confirmation you need. But please know that this is our goal and intention.
Hi. I just tried to purchase the License. However, I get an error: Error communicating with the VAT validation server – please try again.
How can we resolve this?
Best regards
Sebastian
Ususally you need to wait a while until the service becomes responsive in your country and then try again. Here is a link for checking the status in your country of the VIES system: https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/#/self-monitoring
Hello I have some questions about your product Multilingual CMS.
Is this an annual subscription? What happens if I don’t pay the following years? Will I lose access to the material I’ve already translated? Will I no longer be able to add manual translations? Do I have to pay every year for support and updates?
The plan offers 90,000 translation credits. If I pay every year, do I get those credits again each year, or are they only applied the first time?
If you don’t renew your subscription after a year, you can still log into your account, however, you will:
Stop receiving plugin updates
No longer have access to support
Not be able to register WPML on a new site, even if you still have available slots
Not be able to re-register WPML on a site that was already using it if the site’s URL changes (for example, after a migration or domain update)
You can continue to use WPML on existing registered sites, but keep in mind that WordPress and other plugins get updated regularly. Running an outdated version of WPML may lead to compatibility issues over time.
Will I lose access to the material I’ve already translated?
Absoultely not. Your translations always reside on your site database.
Will I no longer be able to add manual translations?
You can always add manual translations.
Do I have to pay every year for support and updates?
Yes. It is a yearly subscription.
If I pay every year, do I get those credits again each year, or are they only applied the first time?
With each renewal your credit balance is topped up to 90K credits. So if you are at 0 credits in your balance, you will receive 90K. Likewise, if there are 50K credits remaining unused in your account, we will add 40K to get you to the 90K for the start of your renewed annual subscription.
This is explained in more detail here: https://wpml.org/purchase/wpml-renewal/
Please see section “What are credit top-ups?” in the FAQ section of the page.
Agradecería si me pudieran dejar una version de prueba, para probarla en mi página web si funciona. Por otro lado me gustaría si unicamente tengo que copiar el plugin o ademas tengo que hacer alguna cosa más.

Hello, I need to install WPML on a WordPress multisite installation, on which only sites with second-level domains are installed. Is a Multilingual Blog license sufficient?
The type of site license depends more on the type of plugins you are using on each WordPress installation. If you are only translating your actual post content (no theme/plugin options, no outputs, no menus) then the BLOG subscription level might be sufficient.
On the other hand, if you are using page builders or contact forms or navigation menus…then you would need to have at least the WPML CMS subscription.

Hello !
We are interested to use WPML on aour websites…
BUT befire I would like to test the translation because we use specific words in our field…
Please, where can we test a translation with a paragraph for exemple ?
Thank You
Nicolas
Unfortunately we do not have any kind of trial/testing environment for our plugin. We do have a 30-day refund policy for any reason that most people use as a way to “try out” the plugin.
We were planning to use the pay-as-you-go method for our website, but it appears that option is no longer available. Given the current pricing models, can you answer the following questions so we can choose the option that’s right for our site?
1. What happens if we go over the number of credits included in the pricing model?
2. Do these models support multiple languages? We will have 7 languages.
3. We plan on translating select pages for launch; how will these models work as we add translations post-launch?
4. Once translated, how will updates work – i.e. if we need to update copy, add a section of text, etc.
5. Do these pricing options auto-renew year to year?
Hello Laura,
Thanks for your interest. We still offer Pay-as-you-go for automatic translation. Why do you say we don’t? Did you find something on our site which made you think we didn’t?
See my replies below:
1. What happens if we go over the number of credits included in the pricing model?
If you use Pay-as-you-go, there’s no limit in the number of words you can translate.
2. Do these models support multiple languages? We will have 7 languages.
Yes, you can translate your site into as many languages as you want.
3. We plan on translating select pages for launch; how will these models work as we add translations post-launch?
You can send the new content to translate as you add it to your site.
4. Once translated, how will updates work – i.e. if we need to update copy, add a section of text, etc.
When you update existing content, WPML will provide translation for the update without charging you for all content again
5. Do these pricing options auto-renew year to year?
Once you pay for the translation of your content you don’t need to pay for it again.
What needs a yearly renewal fee is the WPML subscription, which gives you updates and support.
I help maintain the CND Cymru website. The site uses WPML Multilingual CMS (with v.4.8.5 installed) to manage translations of content in English and Welsh.
The WordPress admin dashboard is recommending that we upgrade PHP from our current version (7.4.33) to WordPress’s recommended PHP version (currently 8.3 or higher). A scan of the site using PHP Compatibility Checker reports that WPML Multilingual CMS 4.8.5 is not compatible with PHP 8.3.
PHP Compatibility Checker reports, however, that WPML Multilingual CMS 4.8.5 is not compatible with PHP from v.7 onward and yet the site is still fully funstional. Does this mean I can in fact update PHP to version 8.3 without any issues?
I’ve checked with our support team about your inquiry.
It should work fine with PHP 8.3 – Compatilbity Checker is not providing the correct info. WPML is PHP 7.0 or above as stated here: https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/
For further inquires on already installed site, please reach out directly to the Support Forum:
Go to the Support Forum (Main Navigation > Ask a Support Question).
Click Report a New Issue.
Select I need help using WPML.
Fill out the form.

I clone an existing website to a new domain using NS Cloner.
After the clone is created, I want to click a button to automatically translate the entire site (pages, posts, media titles, categories, slugs, Yoast SEO meta titles/descriptions, and URLs).
I want the translated content to overwrite the original content, so the final website is only in the target language — not multilingual.
After the translation is done, I want to deactivate or remove WPML, and keep the translated site as a standalone website in that language.
1. Translate your clone to the secondary language.
2. Make the target/secondary language your primary language
3. Remove the content in the original content language
5. Remove the WPML plugin. (it’s important that you remove the content before you remove our plugin)
This will leave a single language site in the translated language.

Hello
The agency subscription allows for an unlimited number of production sites associated with YOUR wpml.org account.
You can transfer the site key you created to a client as follows:
https://wpml.org/purchase/transferring-account-renewals-to-your-clients/
Yes. You can register any number of development/production sites.
The difference between a development and production site is a banner that appears on the development sites. More explained here: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-remove-the-this-site-is-registered-on-wpml-org-as-a-development-site-notice/

Does the WPML plugin support automatically redirecting users to the corresponding language page based on their IP address and browser language? This feature is crucial for us, as it eliminates the need for customers to manually select their language page.
Hello
WPML has a browser redirect feature but it is not meant for geotargeting. Please read more about it here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/automatic-redirect-based-on-browser-language/
If you need geotargeting, you can see the plugins we recommend that work well with our plugin here:

I hope this information will address your questions.

hi, i would like to know if the translation credits are for each word or for each unique word? And if it counts for the 3 websites?
Website 1: has 8120 words and 3449 are unique
Website 2: has 48723 words and 14580 are unique
Hello
In general, translation credits are managed “by site” and “per word”. However, you can share glossaries and translation memories across sites to make the most of repeated content and not pay to have it translated more than once.
Translation memory works on “segments” (which has more semantic meaning) more than just words. Here is some explanation of how it works:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/how-wpml-keeps-track-of-your-translations/
I hope this helps to answer some of your question.

Hello
Yes it is.
If you don’t renew your subscription after a year, you can still log into your account, however, you will:
Stop receiving plugin updates
You can continue to use WPML on existing registered sites, but keep in mind that WordPress and other plugins get updated regularly. Running an outdated version of WPML may lead to compatibility issues over time.
This is explained here: https://wpml.org/home/terms-and-conditions/#what-happens-if-you-don-t-renew/#what-happens-if-you-don-t-renew
Absoultely not. Your translations always reside on your site database.
You can always add manual translations.
Yes. It is a yearly subscription.

Hello, I need to install WPML on a WordPress multisite installation, on which only sites with second-level domains are installed. Is a Multilingual Blog license sufficient?

Hello
The type of site license depends more on the type of plugins you are using on each WordPress installation. If you are only translating your actual post content (no theme/plugin options, no outputs, no menus) then the BLOG subscription level might be sufficient.
On the other hand, if you are using page builders or contact forms or navigation menus…then you would need to have at least the WPML CMS subscription.

Hello
Unfortunately we do not have any kind of trial/testing environment for our plugin. We do have a 30-day refund policy for any reason that most people use as a way to “try out” the plugin.
More here: https://wpml.org/faq/do-you-have-a-trial-or-demo-version-of-the-wpml-plugin/
With regards to the translation quality of our PTC engine, there is a trial period offering here: https://ptc.wpml.org/
If you have a list of phrases or terms that you would want to try out, you would need to prepare a CSV file. There are some examples here: https://ptc.wpml.org/documentation/supported-resource-file-formats-for-translation-with-ptc/
I hope this helps you determine your best way forward given the offerings we have.
Kind regards
Hello:
We were planning to use the pay-as-you-go method for our website, but it appears that option is no longer available. Given the current pricing models, can you answer the following questions so we can choose the option that’s right for our site?
1. What happens if we go over the number of credits included in the pricing model?
2. Do these models support multiple languages? We will have 7 languages.
3. We plan on translating select pages for launch; how will these models work as we add translations post-launch?
4. Once translated, how will updates work – i.e. if we need to update copy, add a section of text, etc.
5. Do these pricing options auto-renew year to year?
Thank you,
Laura

Hi
Thanks!
Kevin
Hello
I’ve checked with our support team about your inquiry.
It should work fine with PHP 8.3 – Compatilbity Checker is not providing the correct info. WPML is PHP 7.0 or above as stated here: https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/
For further inquires on already installed site, please reach out directly to the Support Forum:

Simple inquiry regarding payment, can the plugin be purchased through CC instead of Paypal?
Hello
Stripe payments (i.e. CC) are accepted.
Thank you
Hello,
Here is my use case:
I am using a WordPress Multisite installation.
Is this workflow possible with WPML?
Thanks
Hello
In theory, yes. You would do the following steps:
1. Translate your clone to the secondary language.
2. Make the target/secondary language your primary language
3. Remove the content in the original content language
5. Remove the WPML plugin. (it’s important that you remove the content before you remove our plugin)
This will leave a single language site in the translated language.
Kind regards
